  • What to see in Paris? What if I told you I know a place that is BETTER than Versailles?
This is a place unknown to tourists (and even many Parisians) but which surprises at every turn for its scents, its serenity -- and for its insanely sexy history.
This is a place where Marie-Antoinette lost a bet -- but ended up having a VERY good time.
You're asking yourself: What should I visit in Paris? Where do you go away from the tourists? This is one excellent answer for you. This is how to see the city beyond what the tourists see. A true hidden gem.

I agree with you that you almost didn’t want to tell anyone about this place. Amazing area. I just came back from Paris 2 days ago and I’m in shock that I’m in Kansas. I use to live in Paris, then my dear Mama moved from NYC to Paris, so, I went to Paris every year for 26 years. Sadly, since my Mama passed away in 2012, I only go to Paris every 2-4 years. I’m 70 (female) and was born in Paris, but American..I went to the clinic where I was born in Paris, and shockingly, it is now the main office for Christian Dior. Can you believe it? Rue Marignan in the 8ème…I love Paris and think it’s the most beautiful and romantic city in the world. I’ve never been too Bagatelle and enjoyed your video very much. Didn’t know that Marie-Antoinette had her secret orgies at Bagatelle. I must visit Bagatelle on my next trip to Paris. Merci bien et bon journée 😊😊😊

Do go and see it, when you can. It is one of the most magical gardens I've ever seen. And you have your French roots to think of, too. (I'm sure Kansas brings its own contrasts, some of which allow you to enjoy Paris all the more.)

C’est parfait…..un petit paradis sur terre. La rose rappelle un premier amour… pleine de promesses et de joie. Que cela reste un secret divin. Merci bien du tour si bien présenté. Mike

Been there a long time ago after a destructive storm... bad timing. Must try and visit it again. Thank you.

Those poor roses must have suffered in the storm. It seems to have bounced back nicely though (the peacocks seem very content).

I used to work at a major winery in California that has Peacocks. At first, I thought it was so cool, but they really make a mess. I worked in a black, glass building. The peacocks would spend all day in front of the glass, fanning out their tail feathers and admiring themselves. I guess even they think that they are beautiful.

I so love peacocks. From the lilting call to the feathers that get left behind. Maybe they make a mess, but with so many birds roaming the Bagatelle grounds, I guess the gardeners have a lot of work...

You can go very easily to Bagatelle garden by the bus n° 43 or by the bus n° 244 (from the station Porte Maillot, where stop the RER C and E, the metro line 1 and the tram line 3b).

Yeah, you're right, and I've taken the buses to get there. I must say, though, that by far the easiest way is by moped!

You have an interesting accent, but it doesn't sound French. Is it mixed with another one? Thank you for another beautiful video, and with Vivaldi no less!I think the fish might be koi who are trying to act coy. Gotta love English. 😊
