Looks like the cpac will likely get the next name Iona sometime next week, if wind shear doesn't get the upper hand. But for now, that AOI remains at a 40% chance of development
Welp, it seems after Bebinca, WPAC isn't throwing in quality storms, and many storms remain short-lived... These factors made WPAC way below average in ACE since 2020. The MJO is heading back to EPAC and ATL basins, which could mean increase in activity again for those basins starting next week, and into October...
Well, Westpac got too much attention, rite? Epac & The Gulf are stealing the show lately. The cold front came down early this year & the dry air shear spoiled all the fun 😅 Bdw, enhanced Southwest Monsoon from Pulasan's tail band already flooded northern states of my country as well as the formed # Monsoonal Gyre over The South China Sea.....great river of moisture indeed. Less destructive wind but, nasty precipitation is still the trend of these storms. # stay safe

its like 2021 WPAC? they had only 9 typhoons that year and its very similar to this.
Sure, but 2021 had higher ACE than this year and 2020... This year doesn't even feel like 2021 imo, more like 1998, 2010, and 2017 combined
