@@JeffK.As a musician, my point of view is that of a musician & not based on personal preference. The electric, bass guitar, is quite a new instrument in the world of guitars & there are stand out bassists, some of which came out of the 1960's. These bassists have usually had music lessons in other instruments as children & have gone on to become gifted bassists, each one bringing their own individually, flair & taste into play. John's father was a trumpeter & John Entwhistle was taught the French Horn/Horns as a child & he was a mean player. Like his bass counterparts, Jack Bruce, who attended R.C.M. studying cello & Paul MacCartney, who had piano lessons, John was capable of notating his compositions & bass guitar was the second instrument he excelled on.

When I saw the High Numbers in Glasgow they were totally unknown and second bottom of a long bill topped by Lulu. As they came out wolf whistling started from lads in the audience who had not seen the London fashion of the mods before. The band then slew everybody on the bill with a briliant aggressive performance of r&b songs. At the end Keith kicked his drums over. I was a Who fan ever since.

What a chap, filmed at his house in Stowe on the Wold just down the road from me, a beautiful old place that still looks like this, John smoked like a chimney and consumed a lot of drink and drugs during his lifetime, I think he did very well to live as long as he did, although he did look a lot older than his years (he was just 42 here) but then if your best mate was Keith Moon you would too, Interesting that he and in Particular Pete Townsend didnt get on at all and hardly talked during the later years.
Always had a lot of love for John, loved the way whilst all the other band members were breaking up all their gear, John would calmly walk off the stage and hand his guitar to the guitar tech.

I bet the interviewer was working for a fashion magazine or something similar. I'm definitely way more into the music than the fashion of rock and roll, but the two do go hand in hand, as John says in this interview. Kind of cool to hear a different type of interview. Also, being that he brings up Duran Duran multiple times, it seems he was a fan -- which is interesting, although I guess not that surprising.
