    Great review!
    I bought a B-Stock once and it was the last time: the bridge pickup was not working...
    The CST in "Paradise Flame" is one of the most beautiful finish I've witnessed IRL.
    But I didn't keep it because the hardtail system makes the intonation impossible.

      Thanks Oilid ;) Never had a wraparound bridge before and after reading your comment I've picked informations up : if I want a wraparound bridge that I can intonate, it's a 130€ investment ! So I will think twice before making this move. Thanks a lot for this tip !

    I recieved the CST-24T P90 in blue last week, B-stock for 60 euros off the regular price. It is now my favourite guitar (even more than the Fusion II HSH I got in January). The P90 distortion is fat and warm and perfect for hard rock and metal, and it stays in tune perfectly, despite the cheap tuners and nut, even if I use the trem, although I don't do anything crazy with it. It came with great action and I am not going to change anything on it but the strings, ofcourse. I am very happy with it. Nice video and playing!

      I'll give this CST-24 another chance in a few months, I need to think about what mods I'm gonna do and how much it will cost, but it's definitely a worth buying axe !

    • @jeronimomartinezfabregas
      @jeronimomartinezfabregas 2 года назад

      @@davidmartinez927 It depends on what you are looking for. If you want a guitar that makes all the "strat" sounds in the inbetween positions, especially if you want the chimey harplike cleans, then get the Fusion III HSH. If you don't care for the stratty sounds too much, then I would probably get the CST-24T, but that is my personal opinion due to how it feels in my hand, your hands may be different. Or first get one and then get the other later on!

    I have one in Paradise Flame, was not a flaw on it, [my Gibson Custom Shop 61' reissue had 2 smudges, $4000 guitar too] Anyway the HB is one of my fave guitars, easily can tune it down to E flat, and back to E, usually a problem, I changed the pickups though. God review, thanks.

    This is one good review. Thanks a lot man. This made my decission for the cherry red strawberry DLX going for (my beloved) small bridge that I have fom Gibson SG to my LAG Roxane feeling fone with it. The green looks so fantastic that I optioned to go for the trem locking it mabe for days to come where I might use it. But as I see this day would probably end up frustrated by tuning frequently... so as a teardrop to give up on the fancy color I not go for the better and straighter instrument. On a few bugs just to say that clear.
    Thanks mate. You did a good job answering all my questions and many more.

    Trem did cause problems on my p90 one too at first... but after i did clean the nutslots with very fine sandpaper ,adding bit graphite to the slots , and switching the springs in the back so they are paralel (instead of triangular alignment) for more equal pull, it performes way better. Maybe that helps you too. (Still its not a floyd rose of course :D ) .
    And if it doesnt help... thats what i like about the traditional "fender stlye" trems.... you allways can internally block them with a piece of wood and theyll work perfectly like a fix bridge

    I got the b-stock and really think it was a return because the intonation was way off. I fixed that in 10 minutes and it's sounded great ever since. I rarely get a new guitar and don't replace parts for what I like. So, it's not a big deal if I had to change out the tuners. I already planned on replacing the pickups, but once I got it, I'm not sure I'm going to do that.

  • @BigRalphN

    Hi Torok,
    (je ne vais pas parler en français pour tout le monde :))
    I just bought the same color Emerald CST-24, B-stock too paid 198€ :) , and i can't see any esthetic flaw on it. The fretboard of mine is more dark/black as the one on older models, it's not brown like new jatoba wood fretboard as yours. setup was good with a pretty low action.
    I like this guitar. Very confortable to play, light, very well balanced, sound good in overdrive/disto, neck is perfect for me, not too thin, not too tick.
    Tuning stability when using tremolo is not very good, as your review. 3 high string espcially G sting are jumpy too. Stock tuners and nut are not high parts on the CST24 model, but i think putting good locking tuners (25 € on AE) and graphtec nut (12€) could make a big improvement for tuning stability for a few extra money. The graphtec nut model wich fit for CST is PT-6643-00 (exact same strings spacing from low E to high E).
    Congrats & keep doing good and objective HB review on YT in english... i understand everything you say , our special "French accent" ;-) ;-)

    • @ToroKchannel
      @ToroKchannel  3 года назад

      Hi Arnaud and merci pour ton commentaire ;)
      That's a really nice guitar to play. About the tuning issues, I don't know if it's a matter of nut cos when I don't use the trem, things are ok. But of course, a good graph tech nut can only be a good thing for this axe (and thanks for the ref :) ). So I still have a french accent when speaking english ? I have to work on it and still be understandable for french people like you !

    • @arnaudjayet225
      @arnaudjayet225 3 года назад +1

      @@ToroKchannel je te taquinais un peu, je ne ferai pas beaucoup mieux niveau accent que toi tu sais ;-) , mais pour un français on "entend" que oui tu es francophone but "who cares" ? :D
      La CST est beaucoup appréciée des amateurs de HB mais aussi souvent critiquée pour ses mécaniques et son sillet plastique un peu bas de gamme (surtout qu'elle est maintenant à 250€ il pourrait faire comme la SC et mettre des Grover). Certains sillets sont mieux coupés que d'autres c'est la loterie de la production de masse HB... je me suis commandé le graphtec PT-6643-00 et aussi des locking tuners (Guyker Pro) sur AE, je ferai un éventuel retour sur cet vidéo une fois monté et testé.
      Tes tests sont toujours intéressants et il faut avoir une critique constructive sans langue de bois. Après avec HB il faut être un peu indulgent sur certains petits détails de finition, surtout qd tu achètes un B-stock, des grandes marques F****/SQUI ou G****/EPI**** font des des fois pas mieux pour des guitares vendus 2 à 4 fois le prix. les HB restent de super bases en lutherie , pour un upgrade futur des pièces, meme les micros Roswell sont pas si dégueu (tjs en comparant le prix payé / guitares à 400-800€).
      A+
      Arnaud

      Ne t'en fais pas pour la taquinerie, c'est comme ça que je l'avais perçu :) Après, sur ma prononciation et mon accent anglais, j'essaye vraiment de me remettre à mon niveau d'il y a 20 ans, où on ne percevait pas du tout mon accent frenchy. Mon petit côté perfectionniste :)
      Merci pour ton commentaire sur mes tests. Si tu aimes ma chaîne, n'hésite pas à t'y abonner ! Je te rejoins sur les Benton, de très bonnes bases pour des modifs, et certaines sont même mieux que ça. La EX-84 modern est aussi bonne qu'une LTD EX série 400, à part les micros Roswell actifs, il n'y a rien à améliorer. Cette CST est vraiment sympa, je vais faire murir mon projet et je crois que j'en reprendrai une autre - une rouge à priori. Après, trem ou pas, c'est ce que je dois encore trancher.
      Quand tu parle de "AE" pour des mécaniques à blocage, ça se réfère à quoi ? Je pensais Amazon mais du coup le E est hors sujet.

    • @arnaudjayet225
      @arnaudjayet225 3 года назад +1

      @@ToroKchannel La EX-84 je me la suis prise en white (un bon B-stock tjs) suite à ta review YT justement pour avoir une forme Explorer "à la Hetfield Metallica". très content aussi de la EX-84 qui me plait bien (la forme explorer ça change aussi des stats/télé/LP/SG).Elle est pas si lourde pour une explorer (~3,6 kg pour la mienne) le profil du manche est certes costaud mais ça va encore ; c'est pas pour shredder non plus c'est plus une guitare de rythmique et de toute manière je sais pas shredder, j'ai pas un super niveau soyons honnnête mais j'apprends en autodidacte.
      Après en micros je suis pas aussi pointu que toi et j'ai pas forcément des grattes très hauts de gamme, je pense de toute manière déjà que 50% du son c'est le guitariste et ses doigts (je perds donc déjà 50% :D) ,35% l'ampli + effets / ou les plugin VST en MAO et ensuite seulement la guitare et ses micros. Donc bon mettre 200-250€ dans des micros, j'attends d'avoir un bien meilleur niveau.
      Si tu comptes prendre la CST24 en hardtail vu que j'ai en fait les 3 modèles : hardtail humbucker (en rouge cherry justement, si tu veux des photos à la lumière naturelle je peux t'envoyer en MP sur FB), tremolo avec les P90 roswell et donc cette verte tremolo en humbuckers HAF splittable. sache que tu auras les mêmes tuners moyen et le sillet moyen sur la hardtail. par contre le bridge wraparound ne permet à priori pas de bien régler l'intonation (voir commentaire de Oilid ce que je confirme). beaucoup monte un bridge wraparound wilkinson ou un bridge wraparound où chaque pontet est réglable individuellement, ça coute ~15€ sur AE (AE = AliExpress). Je t'enverrai des liens sur les bridges à priori compatibles avec la CST. J'ai pris un musiclily wraparound pour mettre sur une DC junior car l'action est bcp trop haute avec le bridge d'origine à cause des pontets trop hauts (et c'est un bridge de basse qualité aussi) mais je le testerai ce bridge musiclily aussi avant sur ma CST hardtail voir si ça passe aussi dessus comme modèle.
      Donc si tu prends une hardtail même en A-stock attend toi à devoir changer les tuners, le sillet et le bridge pour de la meilleure qualité, donc peut-être qu'une version tremolo avec le block vibrato bloqué serait aussi bien au final qu'une version hardtail avec un bridge à changer ;-)
      Le meilleur "plan" chez HB en rapport Q/P ça reste les Fusion Pro 2, j'ai chopé une HH à 260 avec le FR et une HSH avec le trem classique à 230 (encore des B-stock nickel j'ai bcp de chance...) et franchement niveau qualité/équipement j'ai absolument rien à dire , super grattes bien finies et équipées (locking tuners, bon trem wilkinson avec rolling trees ou un FR licence , sillet de bonne qualité (je pense graphtec), stainless frets, touche ébène, excellent manche satiné etc) !
      je t'envoie tout cela en MP sur FaceBook (liens pour améliorer la CST) car je pense qu'on peut pas les mettre en commentaire sur RUclips.
