This phone is amazing value for money. I already have an S23 and I love it but needed a second phone for work and honestly this A34 is almost as good, and even better in some regards. For £300 I'm honestly blown away. The bigger display is really nice and that 120hz refresh rate is great to see considering the price. It does have noticeably more glare than the s23 and a subtle blue tint when looked at from an angle (and I've noticed this with even some flagships so it's not to big of a deal). The notch is there and honestly between that and the hole punch it doesn't really matter to me, I dislike both but it is what it is. The battery is where this phone truly shines. I get through a heavy day of use with 30% left. Whereas my s23 would barely make it through the day. The cameras are solid. The end result doesn't have the same punch or level of detail as the S23 but unless you're an avid mobile photographer this is definitely going to suffice. I'd say these are probably on par with, if not slightly better than flagship mobile cameras from 2-3 years ago. Overall great phone and amazing value for money. I haven't used a midrange phone in probably 5 year and I'm genuinely mind blown at how close this is to a flag ship. I'm genuinely now evaluating if the £500-600 extra I've been spending on flagships these past few years has even been worth it, I genuinely don't give a shit about wireless charging or DEX. The only thing I feel I even miss is the better build quality (tho the finish on the back of the A34 is stunning) and the adaptive refresh.
Flagships are status symbols. You buy it to show off to your friends how rich you are. Midrange phones are no-nonsense utility devices designed for battery life and day-to-day work.
Completely agree. I've been using flagships for the last 6 years and recently reverted to the A34 5G. I'm blown away at how close it comes to the flagships and have decided that for the average user, a flagship is completely overrated. The midrange Samsung phones have come a long way and I'll just stick to the A series in the future. This is a fantastic phone for the price.
Couldn't use the phone as I sold it due to shitty camera...but I'm using A32 at the moment which has virtual proximity sensor too and there isn't any issue whatsoever.
Coming from my perspective, he wants the phone to be flagship so badly, to the point he decreases the values and features of the A34 for average consumers. For example: Not everyone uses Dex, not everyone has capable monitors/TVs capable of HDMI thru usb-c display input, most of people rock Bluetooth headphones. I am getting an A34 sooner myself, and i love what the price of the phone brings to the table. I think it's not a phone to be avoided for the specs it offers.
Bought this phone at around US$230 (8GB/256GB version) with free Samsung 25W charger and Samsung 10000mAh battery pack during a promo last week. This phone is seriously underrated in terms of price vs features. And almost on par with the A54 5G which is way more expensive.
I always use bluetooth headphones so a missing headphone jack is actually a good thing, less places where dirt can go. Getting a usbc wall adaptor is a easy and pretty cheap. No idea what dex is, don't need it. Don't need wierless charging either. I like the notch. You should always get a case for your phone anyway. Perfectly fast for phone use, buy a computer for anything else. Some whiny reasons to avoid in my opinion
You last point is false, in fact, MediaTek chip included is actually a lot faster than its Exynos counterpart in A54 5G, maybe even contrary to Samsung expectations.
Kevin. Nice review but quite unfair to Samsung by comparing a mid range phone to higher end models. Limitations will always be present with these variables taken into account or maybe I am just pro Samsung 😮
Mate, you are comparing Apples to Oranges, this is why SAMAUNG has created A34 and S series, two things. If A34 should have the same features as S series why would have they created A34. This your video is to get something out, isn't it? I do not see any logical conclusion in this video. Anyway it is up to the people who watch this......
This is one of the poorest reviews I've seen of a phone. First you are presenting personal preferences as "reasons", this is a mistake. On the other hand, it is not reasonable to evaluate a product without considering its price and its characteristics in relation to similarly priced products.

That phone is a mid-range phone and not a high-end phone, so why compare it with the high-end ones? lol your video will surely encourage people to buy that phone instead of the expensive ones. Besides, most of the new phones now don't have a headphone jack, charger brick, and so on. And your reasons to avoid that phone are actually NOT bad for a mid-range phone hahahahahahhahahahahaa
1 No headphone jack or headphones in the box, 2 no charger in the box, 3 no samsung dex, 4 no wireless charging, 5 teardrop front facing camera, 6 build material is plastic. 7 Not flagship processor.
This is like saying my Ford focus doesn't have the same engine or performance as a Ford Mustang , but that's because I didn't buy a mustang as it costs a lot more for those specs , isn't that obvious, but doesn't mean people should avoid buying a focus , this review really doesn't make sense 🤔
My question is if the international version of the phone will actually support the 5G capability. I'm reading online that it's supporting 4G LTE even if 5G capability is enabled. I have. T-Mobile and have great 5G coverage where I live. So does it support 5G.
Not really serious reasons... The notch? It's a matter of preference. The notch creates the feeling of a more unified, monolithic design, being integrated in the frame. Personally, I hate that whole in the middle of the display, as if there is some dirt there or something.
All points mentioned are those which means the least while going for a smartphone. This it makes it a better option over any other device including pixel 7a at this segment.
All the 7 reasons that you mentioned for people not to buy this nice ,beautiful midranger also apply to flagships like lack of charger or headphone jack so please dont misinform people just because you want to make a u tube program.
What are you going to do when the battries on your $290 wireless earpubs dies. Throw then out of course. Meanwhile if they were wired they'd still be working in 30 years.
I wish the Honda Civic im looking at buying has a W12 like a Bugatti. I guess I wont buy the civic because of that. What did you expect from a MID range device? To be as feature rich and powerfull as the flagship? 😂😂 These are not reasons to avoid a phone. You get what you pay for.
Guys I'm about to buy this phone soon would you tell me how's your experience with it so far In terms of software stability perdomance is it consistent after some months? I also consider myself a pubg hardcore so l'd be interested in your experience with that
With you 100% on no head phone jack very disappointed Samsung haven’t set up a free radio app alternative. Force to use radio app/data but jacks are becoming rare these days. I was disappointed not to have a plug but I do have usb charger left over from iPad. Would be frustrating if you don’t have a charger plug. Iv had this phone for a good few months and only 2 of the 7 have merit in my opinion but not necessarily Daybreakers for me. One of the first issues I notice was the size of the phone for some people that may be a deal breaker. Small hands should go to a store to see/handle the phone before buying. I haven’t had any issues with slowness or freezing very smooth experience. It’s mid-range phone but you do get a lot for the money and many reviews do find it hard to recommend the A54 when you take into account the extra cost. Some do say the A54 is future proof with the more powerful chip-set but you are paying more for that upgrade and many buying mid-range phones are financially restraint that why the A34 5G wins out.
I disagree with some points, my list of cons: Camera Quality (compared to premium phones). Stereo speakers use the upper one which is low. No 3.5 audio jack. Adaptive screen don't go as low as 1 fps. Not the fastest SoC/CPU/GPU. No DEX. Lower protection (eg. Not a IP68, and not Victos2) More ram (12/16 GB)would have been great. My main 3 concerns mostly camera quality for both photography and video including low light. Then the 3.5 absence and low sounding upper stereo speakers. Then screen burn concerns with AMOLED. I will not mention that a faster charging 45-68 or more would have been great along side 6000+ battery as those are not very important or necessary 😅
Bro literally looking for features only found in flagships. Give this phone a break! This is a midrange phone. A phone even lower than A54 so what would you expect?
It is missing 5g band n71 , which is a big one in the usa. This phone was not made for the United States Market. It only has 5g band n41 in the usa, which is why its slower. I got one new on ebay for $229. Still a very nice phone.
i bought the a34 at £210 and it has amazed me so far, i used an a14 5g which is slow in comparison of this phone, i've been using it for 2 weeks day to day use no slowness what so ever, maybe some micro lags that are just very small and not affect the phone it self, and 4 major updates and 5 years of security patches make this phone a really solid buy, tbh the d1080 (the cpu) isnt slown and the wireless charging and all the things he mentioned arent that common on mid ranges like this one, the display is amazing as well very good quality 120hz and super amoled panel its just insane, id recommended this phone if you're looking for something solid and worth the price :D
My A34 5G is driving me nuts. I just want to reset it (4th attempt ) and set it up, skipping Samsung account and hopefully having my favourite and long time Google account on it as with my other android devices. I have been browsing about this, but nothing found directly to this issue. Some people say that we can skip Samsung setup and setup with google instead. My question is, how? If successful I will delete my Samsung account, with no regrets, whatsoever. It feels like to me that Samsung is quite intrusive and obviously annoying!
Can this phone be used with Tmobile or Mint. My Note 20 shattered. I don't want to spend over $500 for phones anymore. The price point is good for me and I like Samsung.
Keep on moaning about charging.... Charging is not a problem, modern laptops have a USB-C charger of 60W or more, more than enough for charging a phone. I only bought the A34 to have an accesspoint for my laptop. That works! As a main phone I still use my Doro Primo 413, (phone for oldtimers). I'm always among PC's with access to internet so no reason to fool around with a tiny screen. When driving my car I'm not allowed to use a phone anyway, so I can only answer it using the carkit. Besides carrying something almost as big as a tablet around all the time is not a good idear. The oldtimer phone fits in the pochet of my shirt with some other stuff.
Come on now. Those are really dumb reasons. But since you want to compare with flagship models.... 1. No headphones jack. Seriously? None of the Samsung S23 models come with one. And not even A54 has one. 2. No charger. Again, A54 and S23 doesn't come with one. 3. No Samsung Dex. People hardly use Dex on their flagships, let alone mid-range. 4. No wireless charging. Not many mid-range models have wireless charging at this price range. 5. Notch. It's still smaller than the iPhone and it's non intrusive. 6. Plastic backs are great! It doesn't crack like glass. And Gorilla Glass 5 is still a very generous version for the front screen. 7. The MediaTek processor is actually performing just as well, if not better than the A54 Exynos chip! And it's super power efficient! I'd say this is a GREAT reason to go for the A34 over the A54! If you compared this with the A54, it would've been a reasonable video. But even still, the A34 is a great model to recommend for everyday use.
Hello, I've bought a galaxy a34 recently. When I hold it infront of my face a part of the screen appears to be yellow but when I turn it around a little and look at its screen from a different direction the screen seems completely white, is yours like this as well or mine is having a hardware problem?
The first reason and second reason : dont buy new phones. All new samsung or iphone phones dont have chargers and stopped having a audio jack, and having a big battery and you not having a powerfull brick dosent mean others cant buy em if they need it. Anyone who buys phones whould look for the specifications and wireless charging feels more like you're lazy ive had it an never used it, "theres a notch" uh somehow this video is made for blind people who whouldnt know that theres a notch from photos and specs this is like you're looking for the reasons, i know you almost said " it uses usb c" as a reason
This video is gsrbage. I love my a34. Oh theres no head phone jack just as there isnt with all new samsung and iphones. So a non issue. This is a great mid price phone and better than every iphone i wasted a crazy amount of money on. I cant fault it. So to all those who are thinking of buying this phone ignore this video that is clearly just made my a bad shill.
Also cant understand the reason for 7 reasons to avoid, for the price and specs of this phone none of those reasons are really valid, if you want a glass back and most of those reasons you get it with a more expensive device.
I have this phone and I am in Utah. I use US Mobile under T-mobile. Rarely any problems. It does not like Poweramp music player. So, I am using BlackPlayer EX with the Dobly Atmos.
@@michael_pamelabryner_hart7613 FINALLY someone in the US who has this phone! Seriously thinking about getting it, but all the models I've seen on Amazon and Newegg are basically unlocked Latin American/Mexico variants. I know that they should work work with T Mobile 4G LTE, but I was curious if the 5G is supported in on that model (A346M DSN) as well. It seems to be the only one sold here in the US ( and I will assume is the one you have). Also, can you still get WiFi calling? I've read that it's not possible on unlocked phones through T Mobile.
I had A40 for more years than i should have and even kept it after it started having severe internet issues and touchscreen started living it's own life because it was such a fantastic phone but then i saw this A34 and thought wow it's so cheap and poverful and my years of suffering bad internet and constant rubbing of the screen to make it work properly is finally over. Bought it automatically assuming it had 3.5mm port no even checking it but damn was i disappointed when i found out... Atleast my internet issues are finally fixed and the phone is otherwise 11/10 for my taste but damn no 3.5mm port makes it 8/10 because bluetooth headphones are just ass. If i could i would return it to the store i bought it from for not mentioning no 3.5mm port and take the a14

So fool tho leave the phone alone stop hating
bull had this phone for a few months and its sound,,does exactly what it says on the tin
RUBISH you don't have a clue what your rambling on about, ITS A MID RANGE PHONE...TRY JOING THE DOTS DUH
Guys I'm about to buy this phone soon would you tell me how's your experience with it so far
In terms of software stability
perdomance is it consistent after some months?
I also consider myself a pubg hardcore so l'd be interested in your experience with that
Bro, I play like pubg bgmi games for a long time, can I play pubg for 6-7 hours with 100% charge of this phone, please give me a reply.
Nice video, this phone will be getting android 17 update, can this processor handle that update and function smoothly.
I disagree with some points, my list of cons:
Camera Quality (compared to premium phones).
Stereo speakers use the upper one which is low.
No 3.5 audio jack.
Adaptive screen don't go as low as 1 fps.
Not the fastest SoC/CPU/GPU.
No DEX.
Lower protection (eg. Not a IP68, and not Victos2)
More ram (12/16 GB)would have been great.
I agree with your 1st option, no headphone jack means no for me, what's a premium better option?
you can use an adapter in the charging port and still enjoy your experience with wired headphones
Type C headphone cable will work.
WhY dO yoU talK likE thiS? It's so hard to listen.
Actually, 7 reasons TO BUY it!!
The reasons to avoid this phone are hilarious 😢
Have you got any sense of product lines?
Bro literally looking for features only found in flagships. Give this phone a break! This is a midrange phone. A phone even lower than A54 so what would you expect?
Its the same only processor is better and a34 is 6.6 inches
Is it me? Or does the screen looks grainy? I noticed it when scrolling. Idk if it's normal.
Hows the charging time?
It does not matter really
I am facing an issue. When I upload video in youtube, video quality becomes poor.
Mine has no issues it's perfect
I mean why go after the headphone jack in a budget phone? I would buy the S series in a heartbeat if it had the headphone jack!
I disagree with all you say its great!
It's a great phone! I love it !
I have one my Big issue is the Keyboard for Texting sucks.
I had a T-mobile phone before this one & the keyboard was sooo much better.
I am buying it next week. Its a good phone.
I already have it, and so do you by now.
@@michael_pamelabryner_hart7613 I bought it in the first week of May 2023.
@@imbukwa How is the heat in heavy games?
@@4w7 the phone didn't overheat when I played Real Racing 3
@4w7 Every phone would overheat if you play games intensely even the flagship phones.
A8 2015 to A34
Quite good!
These are obvious reasons it's called a midrange phone
I remember lots of companies doing that too.
Where do you get that awesome wallpapers? Mind sharing? thanks!
in conclusion....get this phone
It's actually pretty fast. Am using it now and so far it is the fastest I've used. I came from redmi note 10 pro.
Me too, and I was thinking of getting the OnePlus Nord N30 5G but did not want to wait, and this chipset is faster than the SD 695.
that was a lie lol
Also cant understand the reason for 7 reasons to avoid, for the price and specs of this phone none of those reasons are really valid, if you want a glass back and most of those reasons you get it with a more expensive device.
as long this function as a phone its all good😂
Hi there tomorrow back from school I see if the phone is here if not then it on Thursday of course I will come
A Samsung wireless charger toasted my s20fe never again my brother
this phone is excellent, your reasons are not important
where can I buy this phone and is for use in the US ?
I think in the US, if you want a 2023 generation 4, then your only options as of April 2023 are either the budget A14 5G or the midrange A54 5G
7 Non Valid Reasons to Avoid, this is more like a Gripefest!
Uhm since when flagships give a charger and has a headphone jack, this guy makes no sense
How is the loudness during calls sir?
The USB-C does not work well with wired earphones. The sound is soft at 70% volume.
Thanx
Avoid this video😂😂😂
Compare serie A with serie S , an absolut bullsh#¥😂
I am wireless charging my Samsung S7...
Bruh it's only 300 dollars. Only 300.
If you are person low income like 15k this is a phone for you for a 5g.
