Paradox Tectonic GM Rod Humble will be unveiling the studio's new game, Life by You. We can't wait to share more, hope to see you there!
EA has run this monopoly way too long. It's always lovely seeing fresh, new competition in the life simulation genre. Rooting for this one! ❤
The Sims shall finally fall! too long they've been the only game in town.
And probably why we are getting an expansion in 13 days of core features that should have been in the basegame.
Be scared EA, be VERY scared.
@@webdznr1 they be shitting themselves open world is a win!
Hey Pixelade❤
You’re here 🤔🤔🤔
Between Paralives & now Life by You, really hope this lights a fire under EA's arse.
They've held a monopoly on the genre for far too long, looking forward to some healthy competition between Paralives, Life by You & The Sims 5.
Meanwhile I hope it bury EA's sims games just like how simcity ended because the competition was just too good. They milked our money enough!
@@MissTryshexactly, i dont even want the sims 5. ea ruins everything they touch.
I hope they come out with more previews of Life by You. This is really a 'holy shit two cakes!' situation for me :D the future looks bright!
@@MissTrysh kind of true though but I do hope SimCity does come back but for now oh yeah City skylines is doing really well yeah
also really do you wish to bury it
how hopeless you are and I think EA has changed a fair bit but not all of it
@@beepy815 they will wait and see aslo f you
Just seeing Rod Humble be in charge of this, I know it will be great. The sims has never been as great without him. I am really excited for this!
I still miss Wil Wright
It's so exciting. I can feel the sims in this game!
@@GLoveandtheTrio he is prob working silently with Rod..giving him a few tips and pointers, since they were good friends 🤣
@@gingersnapcakes hopefully yes, It'd be awesome if he's helping too

where are the videos robert
HE REMEMBERS HIS PASSWORD??
Love you, Daddy Robert!
New video?
Maybe you could do a youtube video on it too :)
Paradox really out here showing EA how it *should* be done. First SimCity overtaken by Cities, next The Sims overtaken by Life by you? Damn, can't wait!
Thats what happens when you behave like a car maker in the last few decades. Just reheat old shit every year. Guess they forgot its different kind of market.
Expect paid furniture items to appear in a battlepass in the next sims installment lol
I want to see EA suffering! MUaahhHAHAHA
Imagine Paradox sports games
Paralives ask for payment before viewing teasers, wonder why it just remain teaser until now 🤔💨
Cars and a BUS in base game? Sims 4 could literally never
and motorcycles!
The BUS... omg the BUS... I was mind blown. *happy dance
Looks to me like this is using City Skylines elements along with the Life Simulator itself :)
looks like it'll be a neat mix of Sims City and The Sims essentially!!!!
@@alita8900 I sure hope they are! This would be the Ultimate Life Simulation game!
@@alita8900 imagine if we can make our worlds in cities skyline like we could with sim City for the sims 2!
Finally another competitor for The Sims! Can't wait for more info
_Another_ competitor? Is there anything else?
@@hundvd_7 Paralives. They are an upcoming competitor, just like Life by You.
@@hundvd_7 he mean sims franchise. Sim City and the sims. Cities skylines and life by you.
@@hundvd_7 Paralives. Also I should mention Tiny Life, but devs of this game didn’t really promoted themselves so many people missed it.
@@El.mugman nope, that’s not what I meant
Paradox might do to The Sims what they already did to Sim City and I'm here for it!
R.I.P Sim City! I never played you gurl, but it sucks for you! xx
but yeah divisive yeah I do hope that comes back one day but for now it's a City skylines would do
Life By You and Paralives are gonna be the biggest competition for Sims now and honestly, I like seeing games that are similar but different takes in their own way
facts!
I already know this is gonna be fun. 👍
Omg omg omg.
The Sims 3 did have its issues, but the fact remains I played that game for hundreds (probably more like a thousand) hours.
Very excited to see what Rod Humble has been working on.
As soon as I saw Rod Humble's name....holy sh.. are you kidding me??! This is huge!! Finally, I'm excited gaming again.
Thank you, Rod Humble and Paradox!! I cannot wait!!
Same here. I actually started watching the 34-minute announcement for information on Crusader Kings' upcoming expansion, but then they mentioned Rod Humble's name early in the broadcast and I basically forgot about CK3. "Rod Humble??!! It couldn't mean... could it?!?"
It is incredible and even more so as it is a game in which Rod Humble participates, who participated in the development of The Sims 2 and 3, that is why it has that essence
that makes me more excited for life by you! but then again, it's best to keep your expectations low y'know?
I hope it has seasons, pets, and active job/activity lots, and cities and extended family members that are actually recognized in game 😭😭😭 I’m so excited. Literally over sims 4 bs
Meanwhile paralives gone and patreon money was gone too 🤣 poor those who invested in trailers
@@Agent-ie3uvhuh
@@Agent-ie3uv paralives? They’re still here
It is still a paradox game, chances are that some of what you said will end up as dlc 😋
@@Ekgladiator I honestly dont mind paying for a DLC or two, i have most the ones for the sims 3 and 2. I trust Rod Humble to make a quallity base game and optional extras that are worht it. Very happy to see EA loosing there now rotten throne
As someone who never stopped playing the sims 3. This is the first game I'm excited for in a really long time!
same TS3 was the last good sims
Same! If this recreates something like TS3 that's scalable and less buggy, that would make my year. EA bullshit has set my bar so low I don't even need Life By You to make improvements to beat the Sims franchise.
Me either. I never stopped playing Sims 3.
@@bebbykhan7919 The Sims 3 was made in a difficult era in which CPUs were starting to be multi-core and we were transitioning software from 32 to 64 bits, so this project has an 1000x better scenario to work with already given the fact computers simply are way more powerful.
SIMS 3 was peak Sims
If this ends up being super moddable (and has pets in the base game) this will definitely be good
Rod humble who was in charge of Sims 2 expansions and Sims 3 and is the head of studio making this game said ea wouldn't let them do studios in base game. This game will likely have seasons in base game but I doubt it will have pets base game since paradox is still a small publisher and won't have a massive budget.
@@Foodisgood If they can put pets in base game, they should. I'm so sick and tired of sims dlc, and of people being okay with that. Seriously, why are people okay with THE WEATHER being in a dlc???
@@blueiris574 but... its Paradox... theyre notorious for their DLC as well
@@Foodisgood Paradox is a "small publisher"? BWA HA HA HA HA
@@richardpham4473 Yeah I'm sorry, I don't really know about paradox. Welp, at least it'll be better than EA I guess.
Paradox, you have answered my prayers today, not only once, but twice!
Can't wait to see more of this!!
The lead, Rod Humble, worked on Second Life, Sims 2 and Sims 3?! The guy who delivered the free computer with Sims 3 in The Sims 2?! The legend?!
I'm SO excited! I'm exctatic there's any competition to The Sims coming out at all, it feels like there hasn't been anything like The Sims for ages. Paralives, Tiny Life, and now a brand new life sim by the company that put the nail in SimCity's coffin?! I hope EA is quaking!
R.I.P Sim City! I never played you gurl, but it sucks for you! xx
How did we get so lucky?!?!? My hopes are SO high. I am ready to move on from EA completely for this.
@@simday1396 original simscity wasnt by ea :( it was fun when i was a kid
The company that put the nail in SimCity's coffin is EA. I enjoyed Cities Skylines for what it is but it doesn't really scratch the same management itch as SimCity 4.
If u zoom in at 0:20 u can see there is green box at front door
Oh please bring back the mature themes of sims 1 & 2 and open world, i understand this is not The Sims but with the God Rod Humble on the team my hopes are high!! it's about time EA got a competitor well done team it looks fantastic in this sneak peak we're all excited for March 20th and so proud of you guys for making this big leap to compete with big greedy corporate firms. Do take this note though modding is super important the fanbase build so much upon these sorta games some modders even get hired onto the dev teams in some games, so please be open to that on pc as The Sims 4 is heavily carried by its modding community. Sending the team much love♥
So many people that grew up with sims 1/2/3 still loves life-sim games (me included), why not make a game focused on us? An oldr audience? I'm not talking about nsfw material, just talking about not having goofiness in everything. Let the children have sims 4/5 and give us this.
That’s what I’m looking forward to. I love the interactions in the sims 2 both saucy and wholesome
God, yes! The party dancers in 3! XD
With Helluva Boss dropping this weekend and this dropping on the 20th I’m gonna eat so good so good so good. I’m full but I’m now ready for dessert.
Considering the fact that Paradox have their own site for mods which allows you to install mods straight to the launchers of their other games, I reckon they'll try to facilitate mods on this as much as possible. Would be a smart move aswell, as I'm sure a lot of Sims 4 modders would instantly jump over to this game if they could get right to creating some.
This looks beautiful especially the beach, I think i like the look of this more than paralives..
Sims finally meets the opponent with the same amount of dlcs, that battle will be legendary
Except everything will actually work and will be less buggy, lol!
@@melodyseverything6999 And the content will (largely) be worth it!
And usually not overpriced
Cities:Skylines stomps SimCity into the dust V2.0.

Hoping this would be amazing 🤞
I hope Mr Humble who brought us Sims 2 players a computer inside of our games will bring us a new Sims-competitor game now 🙌
Will Rob Humble deliver it to my door in a pink present box? 🎁 Very exciting news!

As soon as I saw Rod Humble is involved in this (aye, he in Sims 2 who drops off a free computer as a gift to all new households when they move in 😍) I squealed with excitement! Soooooo excited for this!
Omg, this trailers looks like a mix of Sims 2 and Sims 3, and I love it so, so much. Sims 2 is my favorite game of all time and I play it all the time still, so seeing this made me extremely excited. Thank you so much Paradox and Rod Humble!! 🙏❤
Walking around in the neighborhood, cars, beautiful music…I have all this already in Sims 3, but I’m excited to play something similar but more updated! This looks very promising.
Literally everything I every wanted from The Sims 4 basegame! Can't wait to see more. 😍
`
Looks like you can designate your own lot size which has been number one on my want list since Sims2. Paradox, if you're listening, the rest of the list is 2: cemetery lot type, 3: spiral stairs, 4: ownable hotels. Eight years of frustration, I'm so excited for this.
Save us Paradox!
You can place any lot size you want in Sims 3. You just have to edit the town you're playing in, bulldoze something, and voila. I do it all the time. Sims 4 doesn't allow for that, though, as far as I know, and that sucks.
@@joshuawagner2590 Lol I went straight from 2 to 4. The Sims in Sims3 are hideous.
OMGGGG this is giving me Sims 3 vibes
Hey!! Look who it is lol
Rod humble was the lead designer of Sims 3 and is the lead of this game so it makes sense it reminds you of Sims 3.
@@Foodisgood Yup.

I can't wait!!! So exciting to have something new!!
A Life simulation game, with a Sims 3-like open world?
OKAY, NOW YOU'VE GOT MY ATTENTION!
I know this is likely a VERY early build, but I'm a little worried about the choppy framerate and some of weird visual stuff in the first 3 scenes. More increasingly, games are releasing in just-barely-playable states, so I hope this won't suffer the same fate come release. Definitely on board with a true competitor for The Sims though, and looking forward to seeing where this goes.
Oh man, super stoked!
A studio lead by the person who lead (or was involved) Sims IP during Sims 2 and Sims 3 (according to wiki) making what seems to be a game in similar genre? Seems promising
with this information, i hope this becomes one of the best simulation games ever 🙏
Rod humble is literally a npc in Sims freetime he took over as lead designer of Sims 2 during the expansion packs and was lead of Sims 3 and left maxis shortly after it's release.
@@Foodisgood Well, Sims 3 is the best Sims game so, huge hype for this at least as a fresh start for a competitor!
Hyped!
This game is like a breath of fresh air, I'm hella excited for it!
I love that The Sims 3's open world is back. 4 was a major stepback in that regard.
Well this game is made by Rod Humble the guy that made Sims 3 so of course he would make it open world lol.
@@Foodisgood Rod Humble left EA barely a year after the Sims 3 came out. He only stuck around the the Late Night expansion
@@HippieElfChick85 I know but he was lead producer of the sims 3 base game.
Personally I was never a big fan of the open world. It was a serious performance hog and having all the other Sims leading their own lives in real time like that both did a number on memory usage and meant that they were liable to do really stupid stuff and get themselves killed offscreen or something.
@@Spudtron98 A performance hog, sure, but at the same time it did wonders for immersion. At any time you could zoom out of your house / apartment and check up on town. And being able to just wander off from the lot into the nature in search of bugs or whatever, or to walk to the beach at any point of the map.
Looks promising! Cheers from Brazil!
YAAAAAAAAAY I'M ALSO BRAZILIAN
i'm way more excited with this than paralives, honestly
@@yaleatorio Paralives unfortunately will never truly compete, it's too low budget, it's been years and they're still years away from having a functional product, the harsh reality is that life-sim games are extremely expensive to make! [maybe that's why EA had no competition for decades!??]. I wish paralive sucess, but i think it will be a really shallow game (at least for the first years after it was launched, kind of like sims 4, that released without pools, babies, etc and only got "better" after what? 4-5 years? Still not good today imo).
@@liquidmodernitytasteslikeu2855 Maybe Paralives can't compete with all of the Sims 4 content available, but if you compare base games only, I think Paralives has potential to be way better, given the level of customization and attention to detail that the devs have been showcasing so far. But we'll see when it comes out.
@@liquidmodernitytasteslikeu2855 the Paralives team is extremely small compared to how large EA is, even compared to Paradox Tectonic they're very small. It'll take them more time because of that. Let's try to stay positive for all of the life simulation games in production because at the end of the day, we deserve much better than TS4.
@@metalbabee exactly there’s 11 people on their team and EA and Paradox have hundreds of employers and wishing all life simulation games all the best 🫶🏾
As one of the original Simmers (I have been playing Sims 1 from the very beginning), I can say that this teaser has me excited about a life-simulation game for the first time in years. Sims 4 was a massive disappointment for me as a long-time fan. I've been playing Sims 3 instead and this game feels FINALLY like a legit successor to Sims 3. LOVE it and can't wait to hear more
Your long view is just what should guide development, Paní Tvrdíková. What is needed is not "the best release of the year", but a game that takes a deserved place in the progress of a crucial genre. The life-simulation genre is not merely a style or fad, but a tradition that goes back as far as doll-making.
I've played all four Sims games. 3 is my all-time favorite, followed by 2. 4 is okay because I have mods. But man, back when I was playing Sims 1, I thought it was the greatest.
I've been playing since Sims 1 as well... and visually I think Sims 4 is the best but the game play is not so much.
Looks great!
THE SIMS 5 WE ALL DESERVED I’m so sure this game is going to have its own lane it looks BEAUTIFUL!
Sims 4! Sims 3 was the last game in the series for me, because Sims 4 was such a massive downgrave with removing open world :)
@@Exerosp - Yup!
Tbh I think TS5 will be better than Life by You since LbY looks like a mix between TS2 and TS3 but who knows.
but bro, TS2 or TS3, not even combined, is better than TS4. We don't know if EA will mess up with TS5, especially because they don't have the OGs from TS2 & TS3 in the studio anymore.

THIS LOOKS SO GOOD! I HAVE BEEN WAITING FOR A NEW LIFE SIMULATION GAME FOR YEARS 😍 I cannot even describe how excited I am right now. My life just got 100 times better 😍
I'm so f excited!!
What will really.... REALLY put this one over the top for me. is if these households can be a part of Cities 2. That's what I'm waiting for with technology. I remember how AWESOME it felt back in the day making a city and then the time came that I could walk through that city, or drive through. My god it looked horrible. But it was amazing. When the tech catches up that every house in my map could zoom in and load into a specific household/job/etc, then it will be a true god/life simulator. but even after 30 years I feel that we are still a long way from that possibility.
I'm excited by this. If anyone can give EA a wake up call on how things should be done, it's Paradox.
R.I.P Sim City! I never played you gurl, but it sucks for you! xx

Finally! A Sims competitor! Give me an open world and mod support, that is all that I need.
I really hope Rod Humble have seen the backlash Sims got and we get what we really deserve! A mix of Sims 2 and Sims 3 would be just perfect... excited for it! The Sims need a wake up call, they've been making dlcs that were just... ugh, the last ones were FINALLY kinda good, but it's a disaster it happened after so many years. Not to talk when they released the game without babies and without MANY things... like... anyone who just gets Sims 4 without any pack or dlc is... damn, a really sad game lol
Agree. That fact that the Sims 4 is so empty and still 1000grand later after owning all the packs, it's somewhat fun, but still need mods to fill that gap. No one should pay 1k for a game and it still feels that way
Honestly I was so disappointed by TS4, I straight up still play TS3, which is so bugged, you legit need mods to even save a legacy game or stop your Sims from randomly disappearing. I bought two TS4 expansions before I gave up.
I cannot put into words how much EA have consistently let down the end user. If someone literally recreated TS3 or something like it that was scalable and without the bugs, I would be so damn happy. Life by you, I believe in you!
You deserve nothing.
Honestly The Sims 3 was the peak

WALKABLE CITIES" - please watch a video about this as it's a very important real-world issue and I hope it gets reflected in the game. Cars have its uses but the amount of infrastructure built around the use of cars instead of cheaper modes of transport (buses, trains, bikes, and walking) in North America (and anywhere else that tries to copy terrible USA city/town planning) has had disastrous effects ranging from helping keep people in poverty to increasing severe depression and other health issues. Some people will argue that cars make us free, but it's not freedom if we don't have a choice. Thank you for reading, please spread the word!
But I'm sure EA was just being cheap and doesnt care about this.

Finally a Sims competitor! I look forward to seeing more on the 20th.
Please be like a perfect blend between Sims 2 and Sims 3
I'm so excited by this announcement! Graphics and music didn't inspire me, but all this potential free world, cars and public transport, real beaches and yoga in the park made me so hopeful!
Graphics don't matter if we get a huge, alive world(s).
Rod, Liberate us from EA!
Save us!
Plz, my lord and savior Mr. Humble, save us
Things I hope to learn in the announcement:
How far along in development is this?
When is the estimated date of release?
What platforms will it be available on?
What are the big major similarities and differences with both the Sims and Paralives?
How much customization will players have in the game?
Will the game be more routed in reality or be more focused on living out that Fantasy/ dream life? Or, will it be a health blend of both?
We can't call the characters sims, so what will we call them?
The fact that this is not made by EA increases the chances of me buying it and growing with it. Its either you or Paralives right now and probably both tbh. Keep it up.
