Really enjoyed your tutorial! Reference of using painters tape simply as a guidance for quilting your gentle curvy lines or wavy lines. Also the grid lines and markings for orange peel using the "S" curve. Thank you for your endless possibilities!
Hi Jacquie! It's because of your Craftsy class that I fell in love with straight lines!! The last quilt I made, I quilted with almost entirely straight lines. It looks so cool!! Thanks for all that you teach us!!
+ newbeequilter - Hi Jacquie. I just watched this again and heard you say, "Where you look is where you quilt"; it's like aiming a gun at the target, isn't it? What a great tip for quilting and a wonderful principal for success in one's life. I'm so glad I watched this video a second time.
Thank you for doing this wonderful video.....I love walking foot quilting and after watching your video I tried some of the techniques you demonstrated...it has opened a whole new way for me to quilt using my walking foot...thank you...
Had to order a walking foot for my singer 301 but I will definitely be doing this. My husqvarna 6440, another vintage machine, has a walking foot but it doesn’t have a hole for that fabric guide so this more random pattern is perfect. The only thing is that machine is frozen up and needs me to go in and melt the old lubricant and put oil on there. It’ll sew straight but the stitches aren’t the best.
These techniques all look really easy to do on a small sample, but when you're wrestling an entire quite, it another story. Also working on plain black fabric where the markings are easy to make and to see makes a huge difference.
Missouri Star and Modern Quilt Studio both have RUclips videos with very large lap quilts using this kind of pattern. Both quilts are something like 50x70 in.
Thank you so much for this tutorial .My husband recently bought me a Bernina 570 QE and have a walking foot but I never thought you can do these beautiful patterns with it.Please is there any books to purchase cause I like to be a bit on a perfect side when doing things ?
Great video. I will do this technique on my american flag pattern quilt. I plan on to hang it from my porch and the wave design will be appropriate, don't you think. Thank you!
Should you always start in the center of the quilt??? What about the stitch length?? I have been paying someone to do my quilting and it's just too expensive for me, since I am a Senior and my only income is SS check. My domestic machine is a Brother Innov-'s QC1000 so I am hoping this machine will work. Thank you and I enjoyed the video.
Beautiful! I don't have a quilting machine, but seeing what can be done with the walking foot is wonderful. Do you have a book showing how to mark the control lines? Thanks
Great instructional video and amazing what can be done with a walking foot. I have yet to accomplish Free Motion Quilting and this shows me ways to make it look like FMQ. Thank you and especially reminding me to breath😂
I find with a walking foot (on my Janome), the feed dogs are up because they work with the walking foot to move the fabric. (I leave them up when I'm doing free-motion, also.) Hope this helps!
I really HATE it when videos are posted, wanting viewers, yet NEVER answer questions! Why bother posting a Video if you don't care whether anyone is interested or not....GEESH!
How is this video 7 years old and I’m only now finding it? Amazing. This lady is a genius.

Love this technique. If I don't quilt off on the batting, would I just backstitch when I get to the border, or do I need to tie off?

Awesome! Do you have a longer tutorial that shows how you mark all those beautiful designs? Or a dvd you sell?
She has wonderful classes on Craftsy.com

curious whether a double needle can be used with a walking foot. Haven't seen any information about this. Thank you
Hi Jacquie! What stitch length do you like for this kind of quilting? Thanks! I love your work and your Craftsy classes!!!!
Loved this class!!!
These people sell them reply to the comments. Depending on how thick your batting is it could be anywhere from a 2.5 or 3.0 mm stitch length
