Q: Do you do these spreads after the week is over?
A: I always film myself creating these spreads before the week has started and continue to fill it out during the week. I collect the footage at the end of the week and do my voiceover which is why everything I say is in past tense! I always prefer to plan ahead~
Q: How do you use so many planners at the same time?
A: Every week, I choose a few planners for me to use so I’m not actually using ALL of my planners every single week! For example, I always choose a planner for me to take on the go, one for academics, one for business, and one that is more decorative and fun. Part of what I do is showcasing spread ideas so that is why I have so different layouts!
Q: How did you learn your lettering?
A: This is a pretty annoying answer but...practice practice practice! I didn’t use a book or a single resource to learn. I honestly just picked up on the different types of lettering through my daily life (things like book covers, posters, etc.) and practiced whenever possible!!!

I LOVE YOUR HANDWRITING!!!! I am glad to see there are other people who love pens and that I am not Tigger. 🐅 I thought is was g re at to see people that like pens and stationary aka the Planner Community. I finally found my tribe. This brings me joy. My daughters steal my pens. I don't notice as much because I have so many of them. I only notice when they take certain ones that have designs that are more unique.

Your stationary collection is literally my goal. And I'm getting a pilot vanishing point decimo for my 16 birthday which I'm really excited about! And I got the medium nib because when looking at writing samples it was very close to the lamy 2000 on goulet pens.

In high school I didn't know anyone else who loved stationery like I did, so it's been awesome to find "my people" 😂
your fountain pen collection is #goals!!! I've noticed watching your videos that we have very similar hands (lol ok that came out weird now I sound like Joey from that Friends Ep with the hand twin thing Hahahaha) but anyways my point is it's great to see recommendations for pens that are lighter and easier to hold on to. That'll be very useful for me. I definitely want some vanishing point pens one day! And a TWSBI is on my wish list already. Did you see the new Mini rose gold one that Wonderpens had over Xmas!? 😍 I've been really inspired by the pens you use (I got the vintage colour sarasa pens because of you and I love them!) and by the way the b'day bundle pencil case is my FAVE for how it can fit the dual brush pens too!!! Ah this is lovely 🥰 Used to use a fountain pen in years 5&6 primary school (grades 4&5 Canada) but then got to high school and we weren’t allowed 😢 maybe it’s time to get back into it! 🤩

Weight is exactly why I switched to and kept my Energel Clena and Pearl bodies. I recently bought a Sarasa and Papermate Inkjoy QuickDry Gel to try out, but for some reason pressing on the Inkjoy button takes a lot of effort? Needlessly so lol?
I like smaller pens too now, cuz of a weak grip from tendonitis. But I've never seen a retractable fountain pen before! It's so cool! That green shimmery ink was so beautiful in the light * - * Ahh never be ashamed of your pen collection, cuz we geek out for stationery, too! Thanks Helen
Believe me, it is not just you who goes crazy for pens. I love them too, got the passion from my father. Inherited a lot from him also. Fountains are my sweethearts, but I tend to try anything between 0.5 and 1.0 mm. Smaller than that, sorry but is like writing with a match for me. Even some 0.5 are already a stretch for me. I have a good relationship with anything uni-ball or BIC. Those tend to never let me down.

For me 2020 was the year of fountain pens and ink. My collection holds mainly TWSBI Ecos and Lamy AL-Stars. I agree on nib sizes. My favorite is EF in Lamy and F in TWSBI. I swatch my inks on index cards that are held together with ring clips. On the back of each card is the brand and color ink and where and when purchased (or gifted).
Oooo that's a smart way to organize inks!! I am starting to accumulate a bit too many bottles haha
Love seeing all your go to pens! I love the mildliner gray brush pen. It's the same ink as the regular mildliner but with a brush tip. Also, have you tried the retractable muji pens? I really like the black and black blue ones. Happy Sunday Helen! ❤️

You know, watching your videos, I was inspired to buy a Hobonichi Cousin, and Archer & Olive bullet journal and the Pentel energel clena pens. And I've been enjoying them thus far. And now I'm thinking on trying a TWSBI fountain pen.

I lived in Germany for a while and also went to school there. Lamy fountain pens are the go-to there. Or it was in the 90's :-) My personal favourite is Parker. I have a fountain pen that I have had for almost 30 years :-)
Always love pen videos! I saw another video on here where they had a grey ink pen (not silver/metallic tho) to use for lines and arrows. It was just a bit less stark than black ink lines. Kinda neat idea.

It’s so hard to know what is a good pen without testing it and your recommendations are always so reliable
The energel inks used to be my favorite until I tried the zebra sarasa inks! They don't write gray on top correction tape, smudge less, and they fit into the clena pen bodies so you can keep your cute pens!

Have you ever tried Ferris Wheel press? Canadian company, beautiful inks and rather nice fountain pens. I backed them on Kickstarter and they’ve since come out with a huge range of really beautiful ink colors

I've been loving writing with a fountain pen in my Hobonichi Cousin! I have some ink samples to try (in gray and yellow, need to pick up some black and blue-black ink in my next order) but am waiting to order some notebooks for ink journals and swatch books. I got it before you posted this video, but I have a TWSBI prussion blue, grey, and go. Was playing with the Zebra fountain pen, and I got a different starter pen. Thinking of adding a pilot fountain pen to my collection next. I have the vintage sarasa pens too! Hmmm probably time for me to try the energel pens. :P

If you are in Canada, the Clena's are on Amazon.ca (prime) for a good price - blue ink, but you can also get the refills for a decent price.
Currently really loving the Zebra Sarasa Grand Vintage and the metal Sharpie S-Gel pens (had to switch from the 0.5 ink to 0.38 ink) 🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗
I just finally bought a sailor FP. 🙈 Most of my collection is pilot preras. Cheaper end and excellent writers. I need to get a nice grey and yellow pen and I’ll be set for hopefully a few years. 😂 After the sailor pen I better be. Our pencil case looks almost the same except for some of the pens but I have a few more grey Tombows . 😁

In a few more years (probably next year ahaha) I might start selling my collection to save up for another one. It just feels lovely to write with.

I am so surprised you can write notes on normal paper with a lamy and it doesn't bleed. I am using a lamy F nib on a relatively-thicker-than-copy-paper-paper, yet it always bleeds to the other side...

what are the best inks for the twsbi? Are they easy to fill?
Yes the Twsbi pens are the easiest to fill in my opinion! Any inks have worked super well with these pens but my favourites are Diamine and Pilot Iroshizuku. Cult Pens is a great UK seller ;)
