      Lol! Yes the lyrics tend to avoid proper nouns. But I haven't ever learned that my soul is in Santa's care. Just my future gifts.

      Paraphrase from Psalm 121: I lift up my eyes to the hills.
      From where does my help come?
      2 My help comes from the Lord,
      who made heaven and earth.
      3 He will not let your foot be moved;
      he who keeps you will not slumber.
      4 Behold, he who keeps Israel
      will neither slumber nor sleep.

    f# is the wrong key to do this in. gb is objectively so much nicer to sing. may i ask what led you to choose this key? is it the modulation to a? even so.

      Hey good point, I'd have to agree with you! I can't really remember what I was thinking. Maybe I was trying to avoid more double accidentals or F-flats and C-flats. But yeah G-flat Major makes more sense for most of this, apart from the modulation to A Major like you said.

      @@ChrisBandyJazz i made my own edition out of the take 6 book, and even though this doesn’t make chordal sense, i just used enharmonics like b natural and e natural and a natural for the couple of b double flats. i found that that made it infinitely easier for the group i made it for to sing
