Mr. Clark, I have never left a comment on youtube in Life before, but I am compelled to thank you for your lectures. I am not part of TikTok community. Just someone with a high interest in Art History from time to time trying to self educate on RUclips. This said, I have been looking for input on youtube for years, and never came across such quality of input. You are funny and charming and instead of bingewatching Netflix, I have been binge watching your lectures. Btw - Im doing this from Hamburg, Germany. Please continue, as it has been scientifically proven that "learning" increases natural oestrogen levels, which leads to reduction of stress in a female body ;) So, help us Girls to be cultured and happy. Thank you. N.

My family owned the foundry who made the life size bronze of Leonardo’s horse. I was at the unveiling. There is a good article with photos in Smithsonian magazine. The horse is in Milan now. I’m looking at a small size bronze of it which I own. What a pleasure it was to be part of this!

I also wanted to mention the huge pleasure your lectures are bringing me. I went to a college where we had a strong art history requirement. I loved it as well as my trip to Italy after where I could really appreciate it. I put your lectures on in the afternoons when I can finally relax. Boy did I love art school. Thanks so very very much!

Im so glad you’re posting these! I signed up for AP art history for my senior year but not enough people signed up for it, so they didn’t go through with making it an actual class:/ wish more people were as interested in the subject as you!

I'm watching these while procrastinating doing my own coursework. I'm not even taking any art history classes. I don't even go to this school.

I love your lectures, and it made me laugh so hard when you talked about how Michelangelo gave God an absolute huge ass in the sistine chapel

Once professors started youtubing it they turned into comedians. Besides that, a good lecture.

Hello Travis. Thanks so much for what you do, it's SUPER helpful. I have a question, not sure if you can answer it. I'm going through the national tour guide program in Paris, France and we are doing a unit on the renaissance, and i have to give a group presentation at the Louvre about Raphael. My teacher suggests taking about the progression of his career and into mannerism. I'm supposed to cover the beginning, and she suggests perhaps even starting with another artist. Would you possibly have any tips/suggestions/angles I could take? I was going to talk about st george and the dragon, but she seems to be fishing for more. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you!

Ok I'm guessing you're West Coast because on the East Coast we have Michaels. Like I literally only heard about Hobby Lobby because I started watching RUclips shows that were coming out of LA.

What if Daniele da Volterra who added the cloths on'em
also painted the michelangelo's weird looking head there

Mannerism takes Classicism and distorts it. Simple as that! ;o) You asked for suggestions: A detailed comparison of Leonardo and Michelangelo would be nice.

The word is 'refectory', not 'refrectory' that is not a word. There is no definitive understanding/agreement as to whether the 'Battle of Anghiari' still exists under painted surfaces. Not many Raphael's?? There are tonnes!

Rename the title "History of European Men Painting"
