Love love love the cane. My dad taught himself to cane. He did a couple rockers. It's not an easy process. You have to soak the cane before weaving. Had no idea you could buy cane!
You might wanna add hot glue on that cane on the inside so your kids don't pick at it and get pieces pulled out. Or maybe glue on another piece of thin wood like the accent wall to cover the edges so they dont frey or get pulled. I have kids too i know they pick at things great job so pretty.

The pine plants you purchased are expensive. I remember my Dad replacing two planks in a cedar type fur wood for our midcentury home. Two boards were over 100.00. And that was years ago. My husband is adamant that we spray for termites. I'd hate to think what those boards cost now to replace. I forgot to mention that your wall looks very midcentury modern.
