- So this was my first time fishing San Clemente Island for Calico Bass. I have fished it for yellowtail and bluefin before, but was very enjoyable fishing just bass. Randy Spizer (@kickerfishing) invited me out to fish with him and Skylar Khach (@Khachbass) and we fished mainly 7" and 9" Kicker Fishing PickleKick weedless lures. I will do a breakdown in a later video of how we rigged them.
The rod I was throwing was a Daiwa DXS 8ft H 12-40lb and a Daiwa Lexa 300.
What impresses me more than the quality and quantity of calicoes caught is that you took a bay boat out to the lee of the west end of San Clemente! That takes some brass gonads!! Awesomeness right there!
Not that big of a deal as calm as the water was.
Awesome video as always!
So hard to beat a good calico video! So rad at 4:03 watching that toad miss and come back up for it right under you guys feet! Great video Bryan👊
Nice session 🎣🤘 still need to try out the Torium I bought off you 👍
Solid!
Fire video 🔥
Super solid video
So jealous 🔥🔥
SICKKKKK!!
I’m so excited for this year. I just moved out here from Long Island NY and can’t wait to get into the bite out here. I picked up a Dauntless 200 and ready for some action.
Thanks for posting your adventures, I’m picking up some pointers along the way.
There’s fish to be caught all year. This time of year you’re better off fishing the bays and coastal structure. Starting april ish venturing offshore is more fruitful and we start to see that bluefin foaming until like november pretty much. Offshore kelps start holding once the water bumps up to like 66-67 or so. Keep an eye on the temp charts.
What rod and reel were you and your buddy using? Sick video man!
Sweeeeeeeeeet!
this was in december? thas crazy!!
yellowtail on the swimbait! F me man
How long does it take you to get out there? And how much fuel?
