Can you believe the gorgeous tone Jeff Koch gets from that Ibanez with the Bigsby vibrato? If U2 had recorded this song in the mid-'80s with this exact arrangement, it would have been a global hit and one of their signature songs today.
@@andyinoregon It should be a global hit! I love working with Jeff, we both have uhm... champaign taste? When it comes to sound and gear 🤣. I was so happy he brought in two amps for me to mic up, he even delays the signal to one amp by some milliseconds to make it sound hugely wide! I recorded them with two mics, they're my favorite mics I own actually; they're Rode K2 multipattern large-diaphragm tube-condencer microphones and I wouldn't settle for anything less for Jeff's rig there.
That means a lot to me, very much appreciate you noticing - I used to do albums in studio for bands, but I feel like there's much more need for good live recordings these days. @@andyinoregon
@@the_oc_brewpub_sound_guy3071 Exactly. I still buy CDs from the groups, like Brian's, that play at Edgefield Winery, but most folks don't anymore. Anyway, your work sounds like a million bucks on my PC headphones.

@@the_oc_brewpub_sound_guy3071 I'm no tech expert, but this sure sounds like recording studio quality to my ears.
