It really was just the first few seconds (of Alaska at the master class) that his eyebrows went up and he looked over at her. And he keeps saying how honored he is to know her. That says something. Understatement.

Pharrell is so deeply in love with Maggie’s aura (as am I). Has nothing to do with romantic attraction. You can just tell he really appreciates her way of being. She gives off such a sweet and authentic vibe!
Pharrell sees her as his own child. He is to Maggie is like what Usher is to Beiber and what Eminem is to 50 cent. He considers Maggie to be his own creation, her teacher, her guide. Every success she gets in life is another good day of Pharrell's.
And her creativity and articulation, she's so original. Pharrell aspires to be like her, that's what l like about this video more than anything. I forgive you THAT video! 😆😆
@ M B If you label them old souls, you take away the ability for others to reach what they've 'reached', and that's: authenticity. Maggie doesn't feel she needs to pretend to be other than who she is just to want to appeal to other people. There's no insecurity about who she is, or, if there is, she's ok with it.
I completely disagree. You've been duped. It's all an act, the innocence and everything she says is just what she thinks they want to hear. She's so fake

I was on that "stage dive" performance! In Stockholm, Sweden. She dived, circled around the crowd, went back up on stage, started laughing and said: "I've never done that before, that was so cool!". Amazing artist and an amazing performance. Greetings from Sweden
Maybe for him it's rare to meet people that are like him, that have enough self worth to be just their own, natural selves, without attempting to appeal to others.
Love how Pharrell just sits back & admires her thought process & ideas. I think we can all learn from that. Truly beautiful. “You’re something else. Something else on the beautiful side.”
If interviews were all like this, we call it in the communication world, passing the stick. When we can communicate empathically and less so autobiographical, conversation flows from each person like water flows from the rainclouds to the river to the sea and back to the clouds. I just loved when Pharrell said at the end, "Chores, I remember those". Giving her confirmation that those little things will be gone one day in her world.

she inspires me so much when she speaks about what she is passionate about. she speaks like a song writer. and the way she inspires pharrell, someone so successful and knowledgable in his field, you just know she’s so special.
What a great moment to watch, after seeing Maggie's Incredible rise, from her MasterClass, where Pharrell showed up and helped start it all, to this interview here. I love it!!

Maggie Rogers was on SNL tonight .... I've spent time filling in her background and had never heard of her story and connection with Pharrell. That video when he first heard her was heartwarming. I know what he means about the "70's face" but I also think Maggie is one of those lucky ladies who naturally looks very pretty with zero (or very, very little) makeup. I dated a girl like that once. Absolutely stunning flawless skin (with a hint of freckles) with no makeup but, with makeup, looked almost like an alien was attempting to mimic her face; it was her, but it wasn't her, the shine of her natural beauty was dulled.
First time I heard her sing it was 3 a.m. and I was sailing back from the Virgin Islands and I was drinking Coffee and not another human in sight and leave the light on, started playing and there was just something special in that moment and in that memory.
