As someone who has previous versions of every figure, I'm actually really happy with the wave for its kit bash opportunities. I gave the Storm body the old head, wristbands, and white gloves to have a perfect comic Storm, along with some lightning effects. The new Rogue works fine with the retro Rogue head, but I'm keeping both figures because both have merit and both are pretty. The new Wolverine is great once you remove the "stubble" paint. Magneto is fine once I gave him power effects and AoA Magneto's purple gloves, though the purple isn't a 100% match. Gambit is unnecessary because I already had the 3-pack Gambit's head on the Caliban Gambit's body, which is perfect. Bishop is a downgrade from the Sauron wave one, despite being pinless. So 2/3 were good purchases.
The only one I bought was Rogue, in my opinion this one looks much better than the previous ones, this one looks young and the joy of living has not yet gone away like the previous ones that look like they have had a difficult life with several addictions. The other characters in the wave aren't bad, especially Bishop, but I prefer them from other brands.
Uh oh! Someone said something I don't think is quite accurate, Magneto has had purple gloves since quite early on and in most appearances probably and by most artists (except occasions that the commenter may have seen without the gloves, such as the appearance with Thor and outside of the X-Men in Journey into Mystery #109). So I looked up "first appearance magneto" and found the cover of The X-Men #1 featuring Magneto with nice purple gloves on! Then one of my favorite Magneto artists is John Byrne whose designs seem to also have inspired art for Konami's Magneto in their arcade games, and John Byrne is typically dedicated to making characters as close to their originals in every way possible, including also their original personalities (so he prefers Magneto as a villain and an ego-maniac like the good old days, which I prefer also) and drew him with purple gloves (as well as typically with shading around the eyes, similar to this 97' version's head sculpt. Jim Lee's Magneto has purple gloves. So the vast majority of people who have seen Magneto in most appearances throughout the ages are very used to seeing the better design which has purple gloves and purple shows and the gloves and shoes and things around the arms and feet are balanced and match and the colors are broken up in a more symmetrical and equal seeming pattern with there being purple in the helmet, in the center of the body, the ends of the limbs, and the cape, supposedly created by Jack Kirby who seems to have been involved in numerous iconic designs that are well-balanced. Magneto's 60s Cartoon version which has some funny RUclips videos showing him, also has purple gloves! They changed other things about the design, but not the purple gloves, and he has the right ego-maniac attitude that the character should have, in my opinion, to maximize his entertainment value and highlight that he has been driven mad with power and isn't a good person. The heroic Magneto which maybe Chris Claremont started heading towards (who also had a disturbing design at some points when he was being made out to be less like the evil Magneto of ages past, and future, and future past) was a cause of trouble apparently between John Byrne and Team Byrne and Chris Claremont and Team Claremont lol. I prefer comics to be less melodramatic and more colorful and goofy while still taking the stories seriously while having wild and eccentric characters and designs, so in the vein of older comics, as well as later comics that followed in that style, and I never liked comics going overly seriously or overly gritty or overly anything, but having a nice balance of being child-like and playful while also taking the wacky characters and scenarios presented and the eccentrics it depicts as serious enough to not be making annoying meta jokes all throughout like stuff seems to try to do today. Just a little research, and one can see the varieties of the designs of Magneto's costume, of which there has been very little overall fluctuation for the most part, and the frequency of purple gloves dominates most versions and most issues where the character has appeared. Besides maintaining tradition, it seems like no change was made because it also actually looks much better that way! Keep Magneto Purple Gloved Again should be the new MAGA (or MAGNA) hats. I feared that you and the audience may potentially become misled into believing that there was a lot of Magneto without gloves going on, but gloves make sense for magneto, who barely touches things probably and also finds touching to be icky because everyone and everything is below him and he doesn't need to because he is Homo Superior (lol which could also mean "Really Gay" or something, but that is the way he ought to be!).
I think wolverine looks best when his tiger stripe suit has a blue that's very different and lighter from the rest of the X-Men like they've done here with this one. Really shows how different he is from everyone else and you can tell his costume didn't come from the institute
Wolverine and magneto are the ones to get in my opinion, the original retro card gambit and rogue look way more accurate to the show and the lack of accessories for storm makes her an easy pass also not a fan of the Mohawk, preferred her luscious full silver hair. I’d get bishop just to do a head swap with the original bishops head with the long hair seems more 90’s to me, but just my opinion
Hahaha, I had missed this livestream and it is so funny in the Gambit part that I came here for from the other video, now I want to see if you consider it rubbish from this point or if that occurred later on! The thing where Gambit is mispronouncing his own name and deciding how to say it is so funny. "My name is Gumby...no..."
I cancelled this wave 2bh, I got the Jim lee's X-men and these don't really add anything imo and 2bh their price and no to little accessories Hasbro is going to learn they can't milk their fans forever. Hopefully they take the lesson if Giant Man fails to invest more in the line and not cut back even more. But also as a Joe fan I have seen them cost cut that line twice while increasing prices and having more QC issues. Side note SM2 is really fun hope you're enjoying it :P
I think the that new magneto is truly an upgrade. What are you talking about? The other magneto before this 97 is nothing compared to this new magneto. So what if it doesn't have butter fly joints. So what He poses better then the old ones. No pins . I recommend people buy this 97 magneto. Because there is a huge difference . I got several of them and gave my old magneto away that came before This new 97 magneto . This is the magneto Hasbro should have made in the first place . A longtime ago. You do need this magneto even if you got the old ones . . Because There are actually lots of differences. .in this new magneto . 97 . So i disagree . Its a must have . And wolverine and magneto are actually the best figures of this wave. In my opinion. So are you not going to buy wolverine 97 now because its that same figure of before but with good upgrades . ????? . But anyways nice review .
It would be great to see how they do Cable the simplified cartoon version of him
I'm holding out for mvc2 Cable. They're so close with the VHS Cyclops, metallic arm lying around somewhere, etc

The Best Wolverine they've ever done. I Don't like the "Peepee" cel shading the vhs version has lol
Just purchased Wolverine !! And also found a great Silver Samurai on Amazon

I feel like Magneto's shadowed out headsculpt is the best one out of the 3 headsculpts he was given

At Walmarts here in lake Charles Louisiana just got that Spider-Man retro wave that's how far behind we are and why I mainly collect multiverse lol

I just got Rogue for my X shelf as her secondary market price is always ridiculous 😑

Yeah he’s definitely a really decent figure
Why do you look so bad? It's your camera, you're in 1080p but the quality image looks like crap 😕
It’s the upload speed of the internet on this apartment complex. Sadly I can’t individually upgrade it.
@@DisplayingModelBehaviour I hope you can, in any case you will always have a like from me
