It was my first time painting anything and used rattle cars but as everyone says - prep is everything. Had a couple of runs but nothing noticable from 5 foot away lol
Well it may not be the burnt orange I was hoping for, but looks great. Black accents on any colour always works, and the grey looks excellent. Really not sure about the tailpipe though!!! Wheel arch extensions look odd with the stock wheels, but once they sorted, will look spot on. Great work guys 👏🏼👏🏼

1.6 Mx5, 116bhp,1.8 about 140 bhp, that's genuine, standard b is about 60 at the wheels, it was listed at 95 bhp, but it wasn't that high, so your probably up by a min of 30 bhp.
That silicone in the paint could be trim sheen from a tack rag left out, I once ran out and used some toilet roll, only thing was it was aleo verea, it siliconed like mad, tbh I'd have put some anti silicone drops in and maybe gone lighter on the first coat, I had my own tradgerdy last week, due to the heat drying the spray the 3 jobs I did went dull, oh, should have had a water trap as well, absolutely great job tho.
at first I was looking for subtitles -- thinking this was in some weird Scandinavian dialect like what Laplanders speak. Then I realized... nope. LOL. Newcastle maybe?
@@HomeBuilt I did a merc last year bud, take the top sensor off the dpf, fill it full of dpf cleaner, leave it and pressure wash it thru, it'll sort it 100% bud.
These Chops Garage and Home Built collaborations are awesome. Given the distances I can see why they can't happen often but they are totally worth it!

When we tested the wider wheel backwards it looked great and filled the arch nice so i think wheels will transform the car again!

Brilliant video, one of the very last chrome bumpers, rubber came out on the n reg, you get a special tool to put that window trim in.
I know, none of us have the tool so we made it work with trim tools and hammers

Thanks mate, we had a water trap amd rags were all new so not too sure, ive painted a lot of stuff amd had the odd bit but this was the worst.

Love the car look on the whole but for me the arch flares look cheap, would look way better body colour with dished wheels maybe

Thats the look we we're going for. Not to everyones taste but thats why we modify cars! So we have something unique that no one else has.
