i really want to thank you for this song. i've been listening it since I was 13, and now being 16 I'm sill coming back to it. I remember being at lowest point in my life when some terrible things were happening to me, I was sitting next to my window watching the city by night and just listening to this masterpiece. It was helping me a lot, just you and your beautiful voices. "we are not afraid of who we are, but of what we have become". Sometimes I close my eyes and think about all these things that I've experienced and about who I am now. Thank you, Little May.

My interpretation:
"Somebody told me you were leaving town":
You're leaving town to go away, but I'm not really surprised because I am too, and we all have to do it eventually."I swear I never thought you'd be the one to let me down":
Even though I knew it would happen some day and everyone else has left, for some reason I thought you would stay with me forever. Saying I've been "Let down" but really you had to go eventually.
"Fold this part":
Life is like origami, everything and everyone we know or get attached to is trivial, meaningless almost, but essentially impermanent, and will blow away in the wind eventually. Also a reference to poker with a "Fold" meaning I give up and I'll let you go.
"Unfold this part":
I've undone all we did together, again with the origami reference, and while I've undone my "Fold" (i.e. I've stopped giving up and I want you back) it's too late.
"Sticking to the walls sticking to this one way street":
We're trying to cling to anything we can to hold us together and keep us tied to where we came from and where our memories are. In the midst of all this we cling to the most trivial, inconsequential things like the road layout in our town.
"You could never run but you said you'd run with me":
As people we were broken and imperfect, but together we complimented each other, made up for our weaknesses and lived fast and free together. I helped you live a full life and you did the same to me.
"Hold this heart":
I gave you my heart to keep, to remind you of me, and to keep me tied to you so we wouldn't forget each other and we always could find each other again. You were my reason and ability to live. Also hold as in stop: I'd rather die than have to live with the crushing pain of losing you every day for a lifetime.
"And I will not fall hard this time":
I've been hurt too many times in the past by falling for people who said they'd catch me, and now that you're not here I have to be strong and keep myself up. Even when I find my way back to you I won't fall in the same way we fell for each other before.
"Cause' we are not afraid of who we are but of what we have become":
We know who we are underneath, but we're afraid that person is buried under our pain from life and from separation over the years. We almost don't want to meet again, not because we won't know each other any more, but because we don't want to hurt each other by having to leave again. As long as we keep moving and don't look back we can ignore this fear of ourselves and try and live a life without each other.
"And we are not afraid of what's to be when this road has just begun":
Again, keeping moving forward, no matter what's there, is better than stopping or looking back to what we did, the times we had, and the people we used to be. We have a long life ahead of ourselves and as long as we focus on all the possibilities we will always be less afraid than if we could see the pain within ourselves, that we're not together and we'll never have times like those again.
"So we will turn our backs and close the door for the last time":
We've made our decisions and we've chosen to turn on our past forever, heading to the future, and shutting the door behind us so our past, and the painfully sweet memories can't follow us through and hurt us anymore.
"Give me back what's mine":
I'm taking my heart back and moving on because I can't bear to remember you, because of the crushing pain of looking back at who we were, and knowing that we'll never be those people in those moments again. This song is a goodbye to someone who, for all the pain they'll cause, will always be in my heart.

The voices handcraft an artful sound, with the tones, the subtle pronunciation and the ensemble in harmonics. It is nice to hear it. But if you really listen to the details, to me this is a little gem.
