I thought I was the only one who saw that. I thought "Good Lord, man... don't you want to live?" A guy talking about a "worst hack job ever" who cuts into live wires with a razor knife. hehe, I guess JI likes to live dangerously.

Awesome video brother. Nice to see a real technician and not a sales training video.

I wouldn't have touched that thing without first getting approval for repairs no matter how tiny.

Most HVAC techs do crap work - I see it all the time, fix the mess most of the time !!!! There are only a few good techs who do the job properly !!!! Sad !!!!!

Did you verify breaker size in the house electrical panel after hooking up the white wires? Undersized breakers are extremely common.

This is why in many states when you get a new system installed it gets checked by an inspector. Not all States don't do this and this is the result.

It looked like you can see straight into the attic from inside the closet. I bet it draws in hot air and sweats like crazy in the summer.

Well bring that up lol, the 1 1/2” gap between the door and platform could be for fresh air technically. I’m just gonna bet it don’t cool.

The drain isn't leaking cuz there is no return air duct = not a big negative pressure

Your a good guy. I just had my gas hot water heater, could have done it myself, but I would also have needed someone with a truck to help. To get it done quick, went with a very expensive company in town. Glad I ‘helicoptered’. They would have done shark bites. I made the guy get his torch out, and that part got done right. Also, not willing to go a week without hot water, so had to settle on a Rheem tank. Hope to hell gas valves are okay now. Last tank I wanted, but needed hot water quick. Wish could find someone of your caliber in my area. Be well, Merry Christmas.

They'll give you the gas valve free if it goes out plus the pilot assembly too if the tube gets stuck to the gas valve.
