Yeah. As soon as you go much bigger, you might be better off with the hinge mounted fold out steps. I was also quite surprised but when I picked it up I could feel it was pretty light. Might be slightly over 4kg. Maybe 4.5kg.
Hey Matt. Definitely keen on new tires. I was thinking about the BFG AT 215/75/R15s. But I use the car as my daily so I’m happy to run the stock tires through and then when I need to replace I’ll get some. Do you think this ladder will fit with that on the spare?
@@jonnosjimny yeah I run AT3 215/75/R15 and the Frontrunner ladder doesn’t cause any issues 👍🏻. In SA at least many people say the BFG’s are a bit slippy in the wet?
Hi Bruno. The front runner ladder fits really well and there’s no rattling sounds from it at all. There have been a few earlier comments that people have installed the ladder with much bigger tyres than mine so that’s also possible.

Hi Kahanis. I’m glad you found the video helpful. The ladder comes in small box so I’m sure you would be able to order one online from Aus or South Africa. It should fit the 5 door and 3 door but I can’t be 100% sure.
@@jonnosjimny Thanks....I have written to them too to enquire......Importing usually ends up making the item get outpriced quite a bit from the local manufacturers....been asked to wait to find out when the Jimny begins to be handed over to Customers.....Thanks again for your responses !
@@KahanisGoldenBytes it is also costs a bit extra to import Jim y Style products to NZ. But they do have good service and have credited me for a defective product. So I’ll order rom them again. Have you ordered the 5 door?

it might depend on the roof tent. it will be unlikely though. most tent will have their own ladders. This ladder is helpful to access the roof.
Are you going to upgrade the tyres? I've got General Grabbers and they're fantastic!

I’m not sure. I weigh 90kg and Ive seen people much larger than me use the ladder.
