Hunny is the epitome of English seaside resorts. When I visit friends and family at nearby Heacham, you'll find me there often, with my missus, just watching the sunset with fish & chips in hand. Hunny is definitely sweet, Tim.👍

I went last year for the first time in many years. It was a birthday treat to myself and i took my dog. We walked for hours collecting shells and pretty stones. He loved running through the rock pools and eating crabs. I plan to go back in a week or 2 and make it a yearly tradition. Cheers for this video as it was perfect timing with some great memories.

We live near Blakeney & we did several holidays in Hunstanton whilst my dad was dying from a brain tumour. It's was the only place I could go pick them up from their home, drive them there then go fetch my wife & kids so we could all go together.
We stayed at the Park Resort site next to Searle's which is really nice, nice indoor & outdoor swim outside pool.
Love Hunstanton & now have some very fond, dear memories of all of us there, the grandkids & my parents Foster kids on rides & the sealife centre before my dad got too ill to leave the house.
Hunstanton was also the closest beach growing up & spent many an hour there & stuck on the old chicken run A149 as it was then.
Thanks for this Brought back some great memories

The pier has long gone. It was a rotting dangerous heap back in the 60s. Me and two school pals wandered on to it one blustery night and a bench seat gave way and swung out over the churning waves with young Mickey hanging on for his life. A real close call 😁

Your review is spot on. Hunstanton doesn’t seem to have changed much in all the years I’ve been coming (a running joke is that neither have some of the shop window displays, but that just adds to its charm!) I think it holds a special place in people’s hearts from when they used to visit as a child, and I used to love the joke shop, though as you observed its now less jokes and more naff adult toys! Despite it becoming rather tired and run down in recent years, the last time I visited it was clear that quite a bit of money has been invested and it was looking rather splendid. You can’t go to Norfolk without visiting Sunny Hunny for a stick of rock and some chips!

Hunstanton has always been lovely, my family have been going there since the 1980s. Lovely seafront with fish and chips, donuts and icecreams, with the fairground rides and amusement arcades, and some nice little shops, including souvenir shops and The Joke Shop. Very pleasant seaside town, I went there today with my sister and we loved it. Lots of people eating fish and chips and enjoying themselves. It kept raining but we dodged the rain with the brolly and kept our spirits up with tea and fish and chips. Lovely town.

It closed down this year :( I’ll never forget the time I went to Hunstanton and my mum told me not to eat the whole bag of skittles for breakfast. My 5 year old self ate the whole bag of skittles. Bad things happened after that 😭😭😭

I last went to Hunstanton as a 6 year old in 1953. I was terrified the whole holiday, afraid that the area would be flooded again after the Great Storm the previous winter, there was plenty of damage still visible. We used to go each year to a B and B on the seafront, no idea where except it was a Victorian terrace house. Never went again because we moved to Kent.

You've got some great photography on this video Tim. Well done.
I've not been to Hunstanton since a school trip in the 70s.
You're right. It's not changed one bit!
Very clean & well maintained place.
Thank you for this visit 🙏😁

Warehouse Clearance wow.. Our one shut down around 14/15 years now where I live. So nice just seeing the signage of it, used to love that shop, so handy 🤣🤣
Never been to Hunstanton though, think I may have to take a trip!

@@WalkWithMeTim seriously man. You could do that 43 mile hike in four or five days easily. The views would be amazing, and the history and information that you would share would be very interesting.

I'm actually heading to Hunstanton next week. Hunstanton is definitely one of my favourite sea side towns in the UK

I lived in Sunny Hunny for a few months about thirty years ago and hadn’t gone back until last year. Remarkable how little had changed in the centre of the town. Classic British seaside town.
If you visit Withernsea on the Yorkshire coast it has an even shorter pier - just the entrance gates and everything else is gone!

@@WalkWithMeTim it’s an interesting little place. I think historically it was a busy seaside town because it’s a short train ride from Hull but between the closure of the rail line in the 1960s and bits of the town falling into the sea it’s become a bit of a backwater. It has an oddly inland lighthouse which these days is a museum and cafe.
