The timing of this calls check-mate on the MW negotiating a new Media deal, and puts the PAC in position to get all Interested Media players bidding against each other for the top remaining properties (easy one stop shopping).
Another benefit of the PAC-12 I didn’t think of is the Battle for the Milk Can being yearly and without San Jose State we could be there best rival. I didn’t grow up with the good BSU vs Idaho games so I would love a fierce rival

Man….I am in my late 40’s. Right when I was coming out of high school UofI was kicking our butts! It was dominant. Made me very confused as a high school kid. So confused I went to UofI for a few years. Then I realized they were DAVs and transferred to “my school on the blue” where I got three degrees including two masters degrees. Got to ride all that glory in the 2000’s and 2010’s. Such a fun ride. I feel ashamed the DAVs fooled me and a lot of my schoolmates for a few years there.

PAC 12 can be the best G5 Conference in football. The AAC/CUSA/MWC are in real trouble. I think the Sun Belt is kind of insulated from all this.
If they don't go east they will hinder their growth. They need top teams if they want 2 try to get power status. They need 2 go after Tulane, Memphis and UTSA. They can add more if they need travel partners
Pac needs to really needs to explore any options on the table outside the box! 18 football schools.

Maybe im bias as a Griz fan but i think the best bet for the MWC is to add the Montanas and Dakotas, the local fanbase of those and the average attendance especially NDSU and UM, are already way better than most Conference USA schools.

Agreed!! Add the Montana schools and the Dakota schools. Makes sense for the name “Mountain West” and they are some quality schools/teams.
@@ToBasqueO I think the MWC will go after them hard it just depends if those schools are ready to move up, they've turned down several opportunities in the past
@@RIPJimmyA7X The MW will have a ton of money from all these buyouts and should be able to float the bill for them to make the jump. Whether they want to or not is a good question. They all have a good thing going where they are at. Consistently in the playoffs for the FCS or be a bottom dweller in the FBS. That is a good question for all G5 schools including Boise State. Is it better to be middle class with a hard ceiling or get the most of you can out of the FCS.

I've been trying to say this forever about Maddox Madison... Yeah he's not the most talented quarterback in his throws, but he's not losing games, and he is managing the games pretty well. There's nothing that can be achieved by juggling quarterbacks coming in and out of games.
It's hard to compliment Madsen on his game play. He doesn't lose much cuz look at the supporting cast of players surrounding him.....take Madsen and put him on let's say......Nevada.

Madsen does his best as the underdog. MadDog is looking to be the alpha. He seems to shine when others don’t think he can. I like this tactic of talking him down. Good psychology.
Good chance there are still negotiations going on between MW and PAC, Gloria seemed to be playing hard ball that any merger would be OSU/WSU just joining the MW. Now the PAC controls any merger possibilities, and that saves face vs MW collapse for Gloria, so its still possible ( 8 or 9 MW teams). If AAC offers AF, UNLV, and they leave, MW may not survive, with Media deal ending soon.

I agree we need to play Idaho. Why not play the rival game instead of Portland State. What a boring terrible game, but with Idaho we at least have an in state rival. Come on JD schedule it!!
Yes!! Get those DAVs back on the schedule. Koetter would coach another year just to play that game. He hates the DAVs.

Get Memphis. Tulane, UTSA,Texas st, Unlv, Rice and I believe at a 30% share of 40 mill which is 12 mill maybe you sway Stanford, cal, and SMU. They'd save on travel. And with them this league could get 14 to 15 million a year!

PAC 12 could be waiting for FeB 25th 2025 Day when ESPN has an option to opt out of the ACC media contract.
I don’t think they can afford to wait that long but we’ll see 🤷🏻♂️

Could get 2 to 4 teams before then and then maybe add more teams after that if ESPN opts out of ACC contract.
I don’t think North Texas or UT San Antonio are an upgrade in talent and I would prefer bigger names. I agree with Ron that UNLV is a no-brainer. Other than UNLV why do we want more MW schools, because all that does is retread the MW conference. That’s like just sticking to the MW conference and adding

Washington State and rebranding it as the PAC 12.
I mean I would agree in general principle although I do think UTSA is a step up from most of the teams left in the MW. I was however saying what I predict not what I want when I mentioned those team. If it was up to me the new additions would be Memphis, Tulane, and App State.
UTSA has a strong following in major city with only one pro team. Playing Texas, a prime recruiting area, would be great for all Pac-12 teams.

UNLV will actually be a great addition.
3-0 to start the season..one of which is over Kansas. I would not be surprised if UNLV gets ranked sooner or later. Theyre building up that football program just give it time
UNLV will be ranked until we blow the breaks off them. Did you watch the game? UNLV looks like garbage. They just have played an extremely soft schedule even though coming into the season it looked like those teams would be better than they are. It will be nice for UNLV to be ranked when when we crush them though .
2023 MW Championship game…UNLV ain’t got nothin we can’t handle.
Memphis will get the nod over both of you guys
