@markjones8041 I definitely expect a battle. Week one games with a QB still finding his legs fully running the offense with a head coach in his first season opener will definitely add challenges along with Georgia Southern being a solid Sun Belt squad. BSU will win but it may not be a blow out.

@@BroncoBleymaier We'll have a new QB also . but most everyone else returns. Dexter Williams, an RPO QB from Indiana and JC French a transfer from Memphis looked very good in our spring game . Tyler Fromm , TE transfer from Auburn looked like a team leader . Turnovers and mental mistakes might just be the difference in the games outcome . The atmosphere will be amazing .

Yeah I’m not happy about it 😂 But at least I’ll be closer to Boise than I have been and finally back on the Mountain Time zone!

As a fan I was excited when New Mexico was replaced by WSU on the schedule because it’s a good move for BSU to have the Lobos off the schedule (nothing to gain there) but personally I was bummed because that would have been a really easy game to go to that I was excited about.

You are right. That would have been a good question. I thought about asking it when he mentioned hoping he would have played his brother in the MW championship but I wasn’t sure how comfortable he would be talking about his time specifically at SJSU so I decided to skip it since it didn’t really flow with the conversation anyway. Would have been a great question though.

I hope we look back on Oregon with a smile. As far as looking forward; first game of the tournament. Normally I pick the pineapple off before I eat it. When I order pizza for home if somebody wants pineapple, I usually show them the door.

He was a Freshman with no playing experience and being continually undercut by the system and he made the throws in the video. Those throws and the consistency are not what you expect from a Freshman QB. He has a solid arm and high accuracy and his decision making under pressure is elite. That is why he is currently leading the QB competition. Does Nelson have a higher ceiling? Absolutely. Is he going to develop to the point to truly untap that potential by the start of the season? Maybe, but it shouldn’t be expected. Nelson’s obvious athletic potential makes him a strong contender for the starting job but Madsen’s demonstrated consistent play and high decision making combined with his valuable experience makes him also a very strong contender. It will come down to the wire but Nelson not winning the job doesn’t demonstrate a failure on his part, it shows the strength and caliber of Madsen. Nelson came here to be developed, he will start when he is ready.

@@BroncoBleymaier Doesnt have to be live, but would really get some good insight into how fans view the program. Sanford mentioned in your recent show how the BSU program is the all professional sports wrapped into one for the Boise metro area, which is why it is kind of unique. Boise is an island where we dont have any other identity sports-wise than BSU. The expectation of fans is nothing but excellence.

@@BroncoBleymaier For example I had employees in Fresno that were supporters of Fresno State, but the school would take a back seat to the professional teams in the Bay Area. They would support the school, but it was not the major focus of their sports support.

He had a few plays that could have been picks, like every QB. That’s part of playing the position, TG also had a lot of near picks and so will Nelson if he starts. What matters is what actually happened. Nobody counts “almost picks.”

@@BroncoBleymaier look at his play as a player not as a fan. I played db in college and would have feasted on him. He's a back up qb. It's cool to like players but if you want to be able to compete and pull top recruits you gotta play them.

None of the tape backs up your statements. Even in his worst game vs Fresno he had no more than 3 balls that could have been picked and only 2 of them were obvious and that was not representative of his play throughout the season. Also to note there were 4 100% dropped balls by WRs including 1 which could have been a TD. It’s great that you played DB in college, that’s a fantastic accomplishment, however it doesn’t have anything to do with our discussion at hand which is about the facts and the evidence of the film. I just sat down and watched every single throw from Madsen this past season and nothing you are saying is accurate.
