    Appreciate your videos on reapplying liquid metal on this G15! I think this system was always going to hit 95ish max temp when you hit the cpu/gpu with full power and a demanding task (my system hits 96 just like yours). But my idle temps dropped by 5-10c easily... And games (not synthetic benchmarks) definitely run lower temps than before since I'm only doing 60fps right now. It was scary but the liquid metal reapplication helped a ton

    Nice video and great bong, I have one year with the laptop, and everything was great. Took it this weekend to a shop to install a new ssd (I stripped the nvme screw) and they offer servicing the laptop, I said yea why not. They removed the thermal paste that is in the vram and put thermal pads, removed the LM and put regular paste. When I came home to play warzone my fps dropped from 100 average to 40, with the same settings... I will take it this weekend again to have them remove the pads and put k5 pro and LM again on the cpu, hope it turns back to where it was before or at least a bit closer. I Wish I never took it to that shop 😕

I don't quite know what I did exactly, and I'm sure RE2 is more GPU than CPU intensive, but I did not apply any thermal compounds, just used APU Tuning Utility and set it to Performance for a test, and so far It's passing lol

    I just got this laptop it’s great, luckily I got one with the good RAM and everything but it runs pretty hot 90-94*C on Turbo/performance mode on most games even LoL 😂 even when the processor it’s working below 40%, Normally it’s the CPU the one that runs hot but I know this processor has no issue with those temps, for those with the same issue as me I recommend turning off the cpu boost if you’re not doing something CPU demanding or playing esports games, it lower the cpu temps to 60-70*C without losing performance. You can do it on windows no BIOs needed and you can change it back easily.

    Hey buddy just ran across your videos by the way good job hope you keep it up. For one I will give you a little back story on myself I own and run a electronic repair shop here in my local town. I have been messing around with my G15 after noticing huge frame drops like down to 10fps. Anywho I spent a better part of two hours cleaning the dye with 91% rubbing alcohol and applied all new liquid metal. Applying it thick too, It helped temps by a ton right now I am running time spy and have noticed a max temp of 81c at the CPU and 81c at the GPU the hotspot being 95c and the memory running at 86c. May apply new thermal pads in order to drop them a little bit. But I think if you wanna notice big gains in your temps try applying a decent amount of Liquid Metal about the same amount needed on the PS5 and see if that helps remember to clean of the dye the best you can in order for the Liquid metal to fully adhere to the processors and see what that does for you. I know this is a fairly old video but maybe a good revisit to help others maybe in order. =D

      I have been trying to get the temps down a little bit more but ended up making things so bad that my GPU ran at 1.1ghz at 96C. But I have now at least got the GPU down to 90-93 so I'm at least staying at 2ghz now. But still not hitting my old 86c on the GPU I used to get from the factory. My CPU is still sitting at 96C no matter what. But it's at least not super throttling like the GPU does. I still have not given up but starting to think I somehow damaged the cooler or something. Seeing as I delided about 20 Processors for people and never messed up a single one. So haven't given up but a little discouraged.

    • @brownieman9166
      @brownieman9166 5 месяцев назад

      @@XxViciousxX I would like to see how the cooler looks. Have you tried stopping the CPU boost and see if that helps at all? If it is throttling down super low there must be something going on in the cooling system, are you using liquid metal? I know I see quite a few laptops where people exchange the stock liquid metal for thermal paste resulting in terrible temps and a big drop in performance as the cooling solution is meant for liquid metal for maintained temp control. If you ever need any help feel free to reach out and I will happily see what we can wrangle up to get her up and running again. I created my own power profile within AC to get it running faster with maintained lower temperatures. That could possibly help as well.

      The best thing to do to control temps is to unfortunately not let it run at max wattage. Or undervolted with Smokless BIOS but that's a lot more complex than just going into Amory crate and limiting the CPU power to like 40-50w. It does lose some performance though. Honestly, it shouldn't throttle the processor until it gets to 105c but other sensors can limit performance or turn the laptop off. Lots of people had good luck redoing the LM or gong PTM I, unfortunately, did not have any luck getting temps under control. But mine doesn't throttle or restart or crash so I just let it be 96C on the CPU and 86-88c on the GPU.
