Wow. This is almost exactly what I needed for a render I started working on this morning, except instead of a conveyor belt, they were tank treads. Thanks for throwing this up!
These tutorials are so helpful for noobs like me! I originally thought that these wouldnt be useful for me, but you show so many tips and tricks along the way, while explaining everything in great detail!
I love that you work so fast but never fail to mention each important step and key you're using. This is wonderful for beginner-intermediate users I think :3
you can essentially join points by doing some 3D cursor snapping stuff. When i do this on a curve modifier the object treats it like its joined even if it isnt technically
I wish the empirical value you mention at @ 25:00 was easier to calculate. It has something to do with the scale of the texture on the belt. UV unwrapping the belt is where the problem begins.
epic tutorial! your tutorials are very helpful! i am making a scifi game, and was new to blender when i started. your tutorials taught me how to make awsome blender scifi models!
I love your videos! Your Blender tutorials are always top tier. I've learned so much by watching them. I appreciate all of the hard work and effort you put into creating these. I hope you and you family had a great New Year and I wish all of us a fantastic 2022! WOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!! 😃
Hey Chris, fantastic tutorial as usual (can't believe I am only now finding it). Question for you - When I created my empty and turned it into a driver for the belt, I found that its relationship with the texture map to be inverted (moving forward makes the belt go backwards). Any idea what I am doing wrong and how I can fix it? Thanks!
This is along the X or Y axis, which is fine, but suppose i want belts in my scene in different alignments, would it still be a good approach? I saw in your other tutorial that you had the rest of the belts all lined up in the same axis. Thank you for the wonderful tutorial btw, i learned a lot!
Can someone make an add on that can have an object seam library, so when you click on a seam in the library it automatically picks the seam lines on the object

You're welcome!
Weird how that happens haha so fortuitous

I'm so glad! That's exactly what I hope to do in every tutorial! Thanks for watching it :-)
Btw I set my - key to turn on and off overlays, and = to lock camera to view, it’s a game changer

I look forward to new videos about the animation of parts, mechanisms (animation of solid surfaces)

EXCELLENT!!! Thanks for everything, my Friend, you are Super Awesome. Much Love, Bro.

Edit: Use an ortho camera and "UV project from view" the ortho scale with help you with the conversion factor of linear speed to UV speed
Thanks a lot for these tutorials Chris, they help immensely when dealing with different projects!

Thanks you so much! greatings from Argentina.
Very beautiful video. I like to look at them, they are very inspiring. Keep it up, greetings from Germany. 👍👍
Thank you B.F.!
9:39-10:33 why do it the hard, messy way?
Use the spin tool for a nice, circular job.
Ha! nice one, yes that would have been waaaay better.
you could take the length of the curve for the calculation of the driver.
Genius! That's a great idea!
That original shape can be created many times faster by just taking the default cube, stretching it long, delete two sides, then bevel the edges round
I knew my brain wasn't doing it the fast way! That's a great idea, why did I use a curve?
26:01 How did you make that realistic view ? Can you please teach us ?
Hey there! Amazing thank you so much for this!
Any chance you have these assets up anywhere for sale? Its exactly what I need for my current project.

I think shortcut for closing curves is Alt + C, not reallly sure about the shortcut but the option is Toggle Cyclic
thanks Nihal! I knew someone would figure it out.
Is there a way to export this to Unity or Unreal?

That would be epic
Fantastique.
hi
hi
I tried to watch the video but advertisements kept happening so I gave it a thumbs down.
