I have the regular model, the 2017 Toyota RAV-4 LE with AWD, and I love this car. Simple to drive, nothing too ground-breaking in terms of technology, but it drives great. I've never had any problems with it for the last 3-4 years I've had the car. Toyota makes very good and reliable cars.
@@sosole888 I think I've averaged around 9 to 10 L / 100 km so that's around 24 to 26 mpg. The 2021 model I now have averages around 7 L /100 km so that is around 33 mpg.
@@TonyKimtheamusementparkfan Thanks. I only get 20 city, 25 hwy. That's way too low. I'm trying to figure out why. Toyota dealer told me, it is what it is, spec says 27 is only estimate, and average. If that's fact, then it's false advertising.
Have this car well over a year and we love it. The only issues we have is the front seat mats. They move about too much and at times. They should have secured buttons like the back seat mats. The other issue is the paint. In the first month, I have had 5 dings. I have the pure white color, but not sure if other color paints have the same issue. Seems like the paint is too"soft" or was not hardened long enough...just be aware.
Steve Thea 18/23 in the city 28 mpg highway Not as good as I thought for some reason, I wish the fuel tank was a little bigger, another 3 gallons would be nice.
FYI the design of the front headrests are intended to be ‘whiplash reducing’ - it’s a safety feature. You’ll notice it amongst many other modern vehicles.
You have the option to make adjustments with your seat, so the curvature of the front head rests will be more comfortable. Keep in mind this design is meant to lessen the impact of a whiplash.
I agree.. just recline ur seats further so that ur head perfectly sits straight and not bend down.... drivers donot rest their head on the head rest.. just watch the drivers
You wouldn't believe the number of shitty reviews you can find here BUT THANKFULLY YOU GUYS UPLOADED THIS VIDEO! This was to the point and had all the highlights I am looking for in a vehicle. Thank you so much for the help!
I have the LE. Minus the moon roof and dual climate zones it’s the same thing. Great vehicle. Not too much tech, which I like because I’m skeptical of how it will hold up over the long haul.
Could you do a test drive of this one? How's the audio system in this model/trim level? Good fuel economy? Road/wind noise? Does it have a traction control button?
im glad your enjoying your RAV4. i agree with you about the head rest, im not sure what Toyota was think there. i wonder if the head rest the other trim levels are like that, because i've been in the 2017 Camry as well as checking out the new redesigned 2018 Camry, and Highlander, and those seats were soft and the head rest didn't have that awkward angle.
There is no rear air conditioning vents. Can anyone speak to how uncomfortable it is? I live in Austin, Tx and have suffered enough in Toyota LE models (Camry, corolla, Tacoma) of no ac rear to run away. Change my mind if at all.
The headroom in front seats seems low. It looks like you only have 2-3" over your head and you appear to be 5'3". I'm 6'2" - is there ample headroom? My current older Honda CR-V has 5 inches above my head in front seats.
The lane departure system on this car is to good, that good I'd turn it off. There should be an option for it to only engage over 60mph. As when your driving down country roads etc, overtaking in streets, etc the beeping is annoying. It should only come on for motorway driving imo. Very nice car Btw, I'm thinking of getting the hybrid one with 200bhp. It's a very nice drive. The CVT gear box noise take some getting use to, but it's linear power deliver is nice, strange but nice.
Nice review. I didn't look at every comment; however, should you do another/updated review per this vehicle, don't forget to mention the key fob features. Also per this specific vehicle an important feature missed was the POWER REAR LIFTGATE via driver cabin button, key fob, and lift gate open/close button. Continued succes.🙌💯
I’m expecting a new redesign 5th generation RAV4 2019 or RAV4 2020 will be a bit sportier and more aggressive, more eco, bigger, nicer, safer, stronger, and higher than this 4th generation . The front of the vehicle shall be semi- AUDI Q8 2018, and the rear of the vehicle shall be semi- BMW X7 2018 .
Great review. The only advice would have been to show the buttons that you were pressing to fold the seat. For me it's ok, but some folks might need a little help. Thanks again.
I turn the headrests around! I am 5’1” and thin and there is NO WAY I can sit in the car with those headrests. It thrusts my head forward exactly where it shouldn’t - my C5 - the beginning area of a dowagers hump. But unfortunately, blame US safety regs for that. Many cars now have horrible headrests.
I got my Toyota RAV4 le Wednesday night I miss driving my 6 speed manual transmission but I do love the space and the size of this vehicle (I'm 6'1) my question is where's the driver trunk release for this vehicle ?
I have an XLE. The only way to open the trunk is the button on the fob. There is a place on the dashboard to the left of the steering wheel. for a button to open the trunk. But mine is missing it and I was told I could not add it.
After I just wrote my response to quietkey75 my wife and I are going to Subaru to see what it will cost us to get a Crosstek. I own a Tundra and Camry, but please the Rav4 is not a true AWD. I would like to show anyone what I have found out about the Rav4. I believe Toyota should build something they advertise as being AWD as this current system is not good. The Rav4 is great on the highway travels well and at 65 mph it will get about 30 plus mpg, if you do 85-90 it drops to about 24-25mpg. Great for around town. THE RAV4 IS NOT A TRUE AWD!
My 2019 RAV 4 LE is getting 40 mpg on the highway when I run eco mode and stay in the right lane. I go with traffic in right lane, but do not pass (usually 65 mph ish).
I was trading in a 4runner and just went with what the salesman said it was a AWD which technically it is but once the either side of the front of the car is off the ground the front diff will send power to the wheel that is off the ground just like an open differential, the same with the rear. With all 4 tires in the air you can stop any wheel you want, so this is not a true AWD vehicle. After I found this out I found other youtubers that show the same tests as I did but they are real world applications as there is a Russian video shows the problem really well. I contacted the dealership and explained to them what I found out and they no longer wanted to talk with me anymore. I have owned a toyota since I was sixteen and will continue to buy them but once again the Rav4 is not a true AWD. Buy a Subaru if you want a true AWD vehicle. I will switch to the subaru myself but hesitant on the eight grand hit from this Rav4 trade in. I built automatic tranmissions, transfercases, and diffs for 15 years. Please do your own research before you buy.

Awesome review! Short and informative, just the way I want it done 👍🏻👍🏻😀
Thank you for the excellent review you made me aware of the fold down release button for the back sear head rest.

That car will last a very long time 😎

Theres 6.5 feet from the front seats to the back hatch? wow! so you can sleep in the back with the back seats down if you needed to I assume?

A lot of room in the back just to sleep there.
Do u guys live in sunrise like in pearland texas? lol neighborhood looks familiar

Instead of 23/30mpg, I only get 20/25 on my RAV4 LE. Why such low mpg?
Why would I know the answer to question?
Love it
It is a temporary spare tire Not full size. But at least you have a spare.
In Australia, only the base model has actual full size spare
Does your car has an alarm?
120 Volt plug? Wow! LOL maybe a 12 Volt DC plug
Where's the 2in1 cigar plug lol
Bad headrest is a serious deal breaker for me....😦😦😦😦
She just hasnt figured it out how to change the position😒 is a phenomenal car!!! thr best SUV
Yeah I was surprised to hear that since my 2017 doesn’t have that at all, the headrest is very comfortable.
I say you are okay Toyota you are the best ok
this car has plenty of room to do stuff......I bet you could put the back seats down and do some real fun stuff.....LOL!
You are really excellent. It seems to be you are a teacher. However, if not, then you should try being one. 🖐🖐🖐🖐👍
I see you trying to hid in the car....LOL!
Its probably my next car in 2018 version. La fiabilité de Toyota est imbatable. Thx for the review and say hi to the guy hiding in the car ! Rofllll
The real question is does it have cupholders? Jk
Who is hiding there?
I own this car

It’s a 2018
Why are they revving the engine? It's not a sports car. Lol
Do that at the dealer so looks like I know what in doing.. hahahah
I like your feet.
