For the non-politically active Germans, I've heard the war described as: "We were estatic after the victory over France and were expecting peace and the spoils of victory. Instead, the war kept going. And going."

Awesome work Armchair Historia! Your animations keep getting better and your work is great as usual! One thing I want to say is Halder was responsible for operation Barbarossa. In 1940, Paulus and Wegner told Halder that Germany could not succeed in the Eastern front because of logistics problems. Yet, Halder decided to proceed with the invasion!
Additionally Halder, Guderain decided to go for Moscow while Hitler wanted to go South for the oil in 1941
I think all the German Generals not just Hitler wanted war but they lead a quick success in France get over their head
The Germans lost because the British refused to surrender and they ran out of oil. And Yugoslavia stalled barbarossa. AH bit more than he could chew

To the creator: Bare with my story. I added this video to my queue and after a couple minutes was going to move forward. I usually prefer video documentaries vs animated ones. But I started doing household chores but left it on in the background. The more it played the more intrigued I became. I am a WWII history buff and a follower of Mark Felton. Anyway I sat down and kept watching and thoroughly enjoyed your work. In particular your significant telling of the post war years. Typically most creators only cover Nuremburg but you dove deeper. I knew the basics such as 10 yrs in Russia etc but you did an excellent job and I learned some things. I liked and subscribed. I look forward to watching more of your work.
