LOVE PETER GABRIEL!! DEFINITELY 80'S OOOHH MY GOODNESS THE MEMORIES!! MTV WAS AMAZING BACK THEN! PETER WAS SOOO CREATIVE WITH HIS AWESOME MUSIC VIDEOS!! AWESOME REACTION RORY 💙 AND THANK YOU LYDIA FOR REQUESTING THIS GEM, HAPPY LYDIA'S DAY FANTASTIC CHOICE!! 😊💓🔥🤘✌️
Coincidently, I was just going through some boxes in the basement, looking for photos for my Dad's memorial service, when I came across my ticket stubs for his So concert stop in Toronto. As someone else has said, the entire album forms part of any caucasian, Anglo-American Gen-Xer's teen experience.
Fantastic Peter Gabriel, very 80's. 80's singers and bands, they worked very hard on terms of making the music videos, British singer Robert Palmer made an excellent videos and spend a lot of money on them, he was a good musician. Thanks Rory,👍🤗🎄
This was the height of video technology at one time. Peter Gabriel, imo, was far better in his solo career than in Genesis. He made Genesis more emo/art rock. Theater. Costumes and makeup. You didn't hear his voice like you do in his solo career. If he sounded like this in Genesis, I'd love him. I think everyone involved would say his presence in Genesis made the creative process move slower and he was wanting more than his share of involvement. He was a founding member, but wanted to be the star. At the same time, he was having family difficulty and not getting a lot of empathy from the band, especially Tony, his bestie. So he left and immediately became a hit, and Genesis immediately broke out with Phil out front. It was best for everyone. As you continue to explore, you'll find there are times in his Genesis career where he and Phil sound a lot alike. Phil did a lot of backup singing when Peter was lead and it was hard to tell the difference. But Phil did Genesis better, imo. And Peter's solo career is fire. When you see him in Genesis, you will literally be like "this is the same guy?"
*Rory.* Thanks 😊 This entire album ("So") is genius, and required listening for Gen X... This song and Big Time were among the tunes that became monster radio hits but the lesser known gems are equally strong, if not even better. Groundbreaking songs AND videos.
Peter Gabriel and Phil Collins are a tiny bit similar in tone of voice, but PG has more gravel in his. You ever listen to Stevie Winwood? Him and Phil Collins, same voice. Check out Higher Love.
I think this was the very first song/album on a CD rom disc. No idea why your subs are so low bruv. I been subbed for about a year and a half. Luvya work. Zebedee from Oz 👍
Classic, Peter treated his videos as an art form, this was his biggest hit, and it catapulted him into superstardom and a household name. This video won a ton of awards at the time, and was the most played video on MTV.
GREAT choice. Pete has always been a little 'out there', cutting edge, avant-garde. His Genesis was wild. Gabriel is a complicated man and a creative genius. Andy Warhol is a good idea for thinking of him.
One of the best ever music videos
Yeah love this song, one of his better known hits.
Solsbury Hill is fire too 🔥 🔥 🔥
Peter Gabriel !!!!!!!!!!!!! ................I'm just gonna leave it at that...............the ONE and only !

"Steam" is a fun song and video

Sorry about your Dad 😔
Ah yes, the call of the gen-x'ers. A song that defines the 80's so perfectly well. Always fun choice!!❤😊
For more videos like this, try his Steam or Digging In The Dirt, great songs, fantastic videos.
Falling asleep watching the Chargers game... playing loud music during the commercials, let's go PG
This song is also tongue-in-cheek. Is it a parody? It is like an old-time dirty blues tune. It's a naughty song. The video is award-winning.

This video was done by Aardman Animations, before they did Wallace and Gromit.
Please, react to Peter Gabriel - Intruder.
