Knicks National Anthem - Kavya Borra

- Hi friends!!
This past week I was given the amazing opportunity to sing the national anthem at the Knicks vs Wizards game in Madison Square Garden! It was genuinely such an incredible experience (and a first for me) so I thought I'd share the full video on here :)
Being Indian and growing up in the US, I was convinced that spaces like these (national sports games for example) were off limits for people who looked like me or had ethnic backgrounds like I do. When I turned on the TV, the chances of me seeing a South Asian woman performing in any capacity were slim. So you can imagine the pride I felt as I sang for an audience that large, in the most famous arena in the world. I hope that I can continue to perform at occasions like these, but more importantly serve as representation for other South Asian girls across the country who dream of pursuing music in the United States. Thank you to the Knicks for hosting me, and to everyone that cheered me on! Your support means the world to me :)
