@@7demo7review Enormously helpful. I love my DX18 and it didn’t make sense to buy a new transmitter just to activate reverse. I have the $30 esc updater/programmer on the way.
Looks like I need me one of those ESC Programmers! I'm flying my Viper with the MultiProtocol RadioMaster TX and need to enable the Reverse thrust. Thanks for the awesome video buddy
I have the same gen1 DX9. I have upgraded firmware and all sound features. I can see the Avian Prog menu with my Turbo Timber Evo, but it will not move to step 2 in the program menu. I have set all to 100% travel with no D/R and expo, and throttle cut to 130. It will not advance to menu 2 for stick programing. Thank you, now I can get the programmer and program.
Thanks. Do you have any idea how to activate the reverse thrust using the radio sticks, not through the programming card. I want to activate the reverse thrust on my FMS viper 90mm. It was working till I calibrated the ESC using the radio then the RT became inactive I guess.
I’m new to the Spectrum world and was wondering if the NX8 radio would be enough to handle reverse thrust, landing gear and the other functions that the E-flite 80 mm F-16 requires?
Fantastic! Exactly what I needed to know, and couldn’t find elsewhere. I have a DX18 V1, and didn’t know if the esc programmer could activate reverse…
Glad it helped!

@@7demo7review Thanks Buddy
Thanks! I only have a radiomaster TX16S and could not figure out how to program the ESC. I have a programmer box on the way!!!

I’m considering a NX10 but I’ve heard of problems with them
@@7demo7review what problems have you been hearing

Yes

Hello Oliver,
Can I set up reverse thrust with my NX 8 Spectrum radio for my e-flite f-16 80 mm?
Hi Jeff, cool, so the programmer V2 (I have that from my cars) work with the ARs :D
Programmer cable: white is Signal ? and its plugged in to the left side of the Avian ...right ?
Cool mix, I was always trying to throttle after hitting reverse but that´s difficult...
You can program the reverse through your radio I used my DX-9 you just have to update it and the esc menu will appear
I’ll give that a try
Tried that never got that forward programing menu
Does the "male to male cable" come with the programer?
I have a DX9 Black G2 and did the programming of the AVIAN ESC with it. I think yours can too (maybe firmware update is needed first).
This is true, I tried and failed to update my tx..
What type of ESC does it have? And does it work on different brand of ESC?
you the only one that has a tutorial for this, sadly I use Inav and crossfire and can not make it work.😥
SO YOU connect the programmer cable from the esc to channel 8 correct?
It’s a setting in the programmer. I can be changed between a few different channels
Do you need a PC to use the smart programmer? I only have a Mac.
Nope, just the programmer
