Kudos to the kid who ran out in front of the bike for not running & kudos to the rider for not racking him verbally (or otherwise). Kid did have a green to cross & bike started to turn at same instant so hard to blame either.

a car merged ahead of the white truck, while they were coming up on slowing traffic. the truck had to brake abruptly because the other car took away his stopping distance. the green car panicked and locked the brakes
15 pisses me off. One distracted driver now fucked up at least 6 cars in a matter of seconds. Put the fucking phone down it can wait.

for the last clip yes by law pedestrians have the right of way but the laws for pedestrians is they must use caution also when crossing even within a cross walk. and from a relaxed talking to a buddy position to a flat out running in front of someone is clearly NOT using caution when crossing a road. and yes there are laws pedestrians must obey too. look for them, they are there and they out line the way and when to cross a street. here is this guys state law....................................................................

In the very first one -- I don't understand how a driver who has his foot on the brake (because he's already stopped) can get rear-ended and then roll forward 20 feet and rear-end the car in front of him. Then the car he rear-ended does the same thing. How hard is it to keep your foot on the brake? If anything, I'd think your reaction would be to hit the brake, so even if your foot slipped off when you were hit, it still doesn't excuse all that forward roll.

first, the sudden acceleration of the car (due to recieving momentum from the car behind) and the inertia keeping your leg on the same spot (effectively pressing it backwards relative to the car)
and finally shock keeping the person from properly reacting and putting his foot back on the pedal
I don't buy that. If your foot is properly on the brake, getting rear-ended doesn't take it off the brake, unless the accident is severe which almost all of these are not. Even if your foot did slip off due to the accident, your immediate split-second reaction should be to hit the brakes again (unless you're severely injured), which these people are apparently not doing.

Why does no one understand that when traffic lights aren't operational the intersection becomes an all way stop?! Like really. It is in every state driver's manual, it is required to be in the manual. It for what ever reason isn't taught in driver's ed but you would think that would be common sense!

You're supposed to yield to pedestrians when turning right, but to be fair, starting out at a run without looking first probably isn't the best idea. Kid was kinda dumb, biker shouldn't have assumed they were just standing there. At least the damage was minor.
In my area, big red hand prevails. If the kid had a "Don't Walk" hand, then him/his parents are responsible for the damages.
The kid had a walk signal. The biker's light was green so that means that the walk signal is going to turn too, hence why you have to yield to pedestrians when turning right (unless you're turning on red of course).

He wouldn't have to get off his bike, you're just legally required to yield to pedestrians when turning right (unless you have a green arrow, which the biker did not). I don't know why you act like this is such a strange concept when it is the law pretty much everywhere.

Also, generally when people are standing on the corner of a street, they're waiting to cross. You have to exercise defensive driving which means not assuming things like pedestrians staying put when a light turns. It doesn't matter how far away the kids were standing from the curb - the biker is still technically in the wrong here no matter how dumb the kids decision was.
I personally think it's actually smart for them to do such a thing instead of standing right next to the curb. Do you know how many idiots I've seen jump the curb or speed around a corner while I was waiting to cross? I'm not looking to get hit.
Yielding to pedestrians is not the same thing as reading their minds. Pedestrians having the right of way does not mean they're allowed to just dart into traffic without looking. The kid was wrong, no question.
