I always follow appropriate policies. When I have taken video in a group setting (rare) I have done it with signed consent of all parents. When I do it in an individual session, I do it with parental permission and then delete the video immediately in their presence after the child watches it.
I would suggest asking for guidance from a supportive friend or a professional (regarding what to say), and working on relaxation strategies for keeping composure (deep breathing, mindfulness, imagery), as well as just telling people that you feel nervous (if that is what you meant) so that your composure doesn't have to be perfect.
I would like to use these techniques on myself as an adult, but I'm stuck on how to go about recording myself socializing. Where do I put the camera? Not sure I can convince a buddy to go around recording me.
