The Cubs are clearly the most appealing team to manage. They have a core, they have stars, they have a farm, and they’re buying in a huge market. I don’t know another team seeking a manager offering that type of situation

Ross was a bad manager. Players liked him so they played hard.......but he made a lot of tactical errors. Bad at managing the bullpen. Bad at marginal decisions. Bad at identifying who should break camp.
They started the year with TWO outfielders. Two. Yet decided to carry THREE catchers! Took them till June to figure out Alzolay should close. He was gonna CUT the guy that ended up being the 8th inning setup man. He tried to use Javier Assad as an 8th inning setup man in the 3rd game of the season. Assad is a sinkerball starting pitcher who does not miss bats.......
He doesnt play young kids AT ALL. Just lets tthem rot on the bench until they get a pinch-hit or whatever.......yea cool so your top prospect comes up and his bat gets cold, then finally gets to play 10 days later and gee whaddya know the kid isnt good. Then he is like "see this is why I play the vets" even when they are in a month-long slump like Ian Happ who needed rest so bad and you have not one, not two but FIVE quality outfield prospects.....but nope lets play NONE of them.
They only hired him to keep the vibes of 2016 going as long as they could. He had no prior managing experience and it showed. He always pulls the pitcher a batter too late or doesnt have the right guy up in the pen to be ready the moment trouble starts.
Oh and the one day he was basically forced to play Alexander Canario the kid hits a grand slam and drives in 6.......

Yes yes yes! You get it. I really don’t understand how people keep defending Ross. Craig always outsmarts him when we play the brewers. Our team is clearly the most talented in the central and Ross held us back. We’ll easily make the playoffs next year.

Bruce Bochy is a real coach The best of the best and should be getting paid twice what Craig counsell is getting. He joined the 68-94 Texas rangers on October of last year and this year he has them a world series champion!!! While Craig Counsell has had very good talent throughout the years including the best reliever in baseball at the time in Josh hader and he got them to the playoffs numerous times but flopped each and every one of them. Thank God Craig Counsell is leaving Milwaukee! I sure hope he has a guaranteed pay clause on that contract so when the Cubs fire him he will get all the money that they are awarding him for being a subpar coach! It kind of reminds me of the Green Bay Packers where their coach is showing what his value is after years of Aaron Rodgers propping him up to be something more than he really is. This is the same thing for the Brewers ex coach as he has had very good talent throughout the many years to work with and never got them very far in the playoffs. Now he gets to work with a hapless Cubs team and we'll see how good of a coach he really is!
