For people who want to use a phone as a camera while saving the footage on a laptop or PC, there are some apps that let you essentially turn a phone into a webcam. I've been personally using the app named Iriun Webcam since about 2021 as a facecam for art videos, but I tried recording traditional drawing with it too through OBS studio. I heard that people had technical issues with it, and some features are paywalled, but it's more than usable if someone can't get a proper webcam / camera for recording. I'd definitely use it this way if I was a mainly traditional artist. For extra hard drive space saving in exchange for a little bit of video quality, you can use OBS to livestream your footage to youtube and download it when you need it, but with a private livestream, so nobody will ever get to see it. This also goes to recording digital art footage as well. Also... I'm not going to say anything about by microphone stand that is 3 deodorant cans duct taped together, nor the old nightstand and a stool on my regular desk to transform it into a standing desk.. knowing about their existence is more than enough.. :D
@@lolaholliday The funniest thing was when I ran out of deodorant, but there was still a little in all 3 cans, so I was spraying myself with my microphone stand until I got some full cans. :D
This is a PERFECT video, it was just what I was looking for!👍🤩 great info and beautifully made. Thank you for creating and sharing. *i subscribed and I can’t wait to share this video with my artist friends❤
My issue is that I don’t own a desk… and the tables I do have are very ugly orangey wood stains 😭 edit: thank you for all the great ideas everyone, very helpful :)
Hey there's a thing my friend does she doesn't have any tables at all so either she puts a cloth with a minimal pattern like gingham and another you can do is buy a panel of wood and then print a sticker of wooden texture you like and paste it on on the panel then you can put desk related stuff near it like my friend does she puts a small vase and also pencil holder which makes it look very aesthetic
It was great.. but PSA warning to others using it because they're slowly converting a lot of the previously free features into paid 'pro' features with each update so don't update! Eg. Auto generated captions used to be completely free but is now pro, so I have had to sneakily find an old download of capcut online and uninstall my new version, and close any update pop-ups that come up 😶🌫️
Try to find a long flat stick kind of board, balance it over two objects of same height on your sides. Maybe a big empty paint can, put your device on top of it and this is why the surface has to be flat otherwise it won't work. Put your sheet below the setup now. I tried but I don't know how well I'm explaining it lol, it might take a few tries for you to adjust with this setup.

Thanks for the extra tips! And the DIY microphone stand sounds genius 😂

why don't you put a cloth over it or something?
Try sticking a big colored paper on the table (make it on the table's size)
Maybe it works
Put contact paper on it!

@@lolaholliday yeah I did notice that

It's my desk 😅
my desk is in wooden colour , i want to make it white what can i do
@@keepzambitorYou can paint it in a well-ventilated area, or like you said put down a white cloth maybe.
Do you have any tips on how to film overhead with only an iPad and no tripod or selfie stick? I legit don’t have a phone 😂
