- In this video we update on the Goshiki fry which hatched 1 week ago, show how the baby brine shrimp are harvested and prepared for feeding to the fry numerous times daily.
We also give a few thoughts on the Hanna Pocket Checker photo meters that we've been using, a full review of which was published on Nishikigoi.Life yesterday at - nishikigoi.life...

Got to say Mark, you are committed. You didn't get any kip last year either. 😆
Wow there's so many fry!! I'm excited to see what you get in a few weeks' time.
Me too!!
Oh my word! I knew it was a good spawning but 😳 that’s a lot of fry!
Either you’ll need a lot of space to grow them on or you’ll be culling/ passing on a fair few.
Not knowing how soon you can gauge Goshiki pattern I hope it’s soon 😆
a very well done sir!
Holly cow... What a great bunch of fry...good job! Can't wait to see all the end pick koi when there several inches long especially top 3? I seen ur reply earlier about not selling to the public, so how would I get one of you great koi to the USA? Keep up the great breading/info videos!
Tks bunches
O M G ! Absolutely WOW, Mark. Thanks for the advice you gave me via Facebook.
Very cool! How much brine shrimp eggs do you add in each of those containers, and how many liters are those? Thanks and can’t wait to see how everything turns out! Best of luck
4 teaspoons in 4 litres
WOW so many more fry than last year
Beautiful fry, how many times do you feed them in one day?
I think I mentioned in the video, it’s pretty much a constant supply, probably 12+ times brine shrimp added, including two through the night.
Thanks for still answering it
Good luck
If anyone ask me what a successful spawning looks like I will show them this video well done Mark this looks great how is the kujaku fry doing?
Wonderful to see such a successful spawning, how long do you think you'll have to feed the brine shrimp for before moving to dry food?
One more week then they will be weened onto dry food
Thank you for creating this video. It's very informational as I am also in the process of feeding brine shrimp to my fry's. Is 2 weeks of feeding brine shrimp sufficient before moving to dry food? Mines are going there weeks old. Would like to know so I know when to stop the harvesting. This is my first time raising baby koi's.
i used to use cod roe when feed fry from Cichlids, the eggs are very fine.
Hi mark do you sell the fry that you don't keep if so would be very interested
Mick Lawson not at the moment, they go to a friend, maybe in the future
Good lucky😁
Cool
whats yout tank made of
Fibreglass
Do you have any trouble trying to sell all of your koi?
What happens to the fish that don't get selected?
a friend takes them
Woow! i want some :D just 100! to check whats coming out of it :D
Can you keep the camera still, I'm trying to count them :-) . Now that is a success.
Sorry ;-)
By the way what camera are you using to do your videos? It appears to be good quality.
Hey Mark, do you have the facility to spread out that mass of fry? These guys will release trypsin ,chymotrypsin and gamma aminobutyric acid daily, and these enzymes will stunt growth.
Yep, they will be spread out, and there is a constant flow of fresh water to dilute all that lovely stuff
@@MarkGardnerNTVfree "lovely stuff" that was funny :)
Can't wait to see their progression; best of luck !
michael a , it’s all about fun 😉
