    Oo yes, if a leader says to me after the dance: “you are so light (soft etc)”. That is the highest compliment I could receive 🥰. My mission in life is to be as agile and light as a follower as possible.

    its so difficult when someone wont let you lead or tells you were your are going wrong, its great when you get to dance with Rasa mind

    I think it also depends on the leaders though. Some leaders are not giving obvious signs, so then you have to continuously concentrate, either lead yourself or tense up. With others, it's like butter.

    Hehe, guilty of 1 and 2, aspiring to become 5 someday 😅. As for 1, I sometimes correct leaders if they are off music in the class, but almost never on the dance floor, only my bf rarely, and do not see a problem with it. If a leader corrects me in the class, I am grateful

    Some followers are super relaxed about being touched, while others are highly sensitive. This should go without saying that I'm not trying to do anything inappropriate and of course if the woman feels uncomfortable with something then I'm not going to push her boundaries - or find another partner.
    It's just that occasionally I get a bad reaction from what I thought was a normal move e.g. It seemed to work well with most other followers, but I'm left questioning myself, did I do something wrong.
    To what extent should I take on someone's reaction, if it's only on the odd occasion?

    • @DanceWithRasa
      @DanceWithRasa  5 месяцев назад

      I think just by saying it, you have a very healthy approach. Questioning it and being aware is a good way to go. Not every move is not for everyone, and that's OK. And that's the beauty of dancing with different people 😉. But don't best yourself for it...its very normal process 🤗

    First three types are the 85% of the dance scene where I'm from. And I would make a distinction between being an 'easy follow' and being light as a feather. Not that you mentioned the first one.

    I think I'm a mix of all, except the sexy one. I can't do sexy if I try, goofy yes, sexy no. And I am very ok with that. I am trying to practice and drill daily but sometimes my balance is still off. In fact I've been practicing so much recently that when I was dancing with my husband the other night he practically had to drag me around the dance floor (aka our living room). We have a lot of fun together and that is the whole point of dancing for us - we love the musicality and we have a lot of fun together doing it. Loving your videos Rasa, your technique is awesome and I'm learning a lot from you. Xx

    Something to add to the sexy followers are the pieces of clothing that look good but make the follower annoying to lead, i.e. hard to the touch materials, spikes at shoulder, threads at the back. Pony tails are cool, getting slapped by one is not that much.

    I have an important question regarding the "sexy" follower.
    Sometimes, they try to get a little "close" during sensual bachata.
    Now, as a single guy, I don't mind this. But at the same time I know that other women are watching me dance, and they might get the impression that I'm the one initiating the sexy dance and avoid dancing with me.
    Should I stop the "sexy" follower from getting close to save my reputation?

    • @DanceWithRasa
      @DanceWithRasa  8 месяцев назад

      You don't need to protect your reputation. Just be honest. If you are enjoying it and it's coming from them, there's nothing wrong. However, you have to think what kind of dancer you want people to think you are, respectful, sensual, sexy , fun....so that is what's important 😉

    There are the eels in bachata. They're totally overdoing their hip movements for every step so their shoulders and arms constantly move. They might think they are sexy but you don't know in which direction they're going. The constant motion in your frame is just distracting. My reaction is that I just want to get rid of them.
    In contrast there are the rubber follows. They're also very flexible, but their frame is calm and they are good at sensual bachata moves. I do like these follows.
