Am I building a ramp door for an enclosed trailer or is this thing just a jungle gym?

An enclosed trailer bought from an auction needs repairs. The double doors are replaced with one big ramp door. Strong enough to load cars or UHV. The trailer can also double as a camper. Fenders get repaired and a travel trailer lock is added to the side door.

Glad I could help. The door got pretty heavy and ended up adding a winch to lift it up and down. I may have over engineered it. You can probably go 3/16 or 1/8 metal, I believe I did 1/4, and also can do 1/2 wood instead of 3/4. When we added the 3/4” wood, that’s when it got heavy to lift. Good luck!

@@joshuaschuit1780 sorry it took me a minute to respond. The winch is a 3000lbs xpv, with a synthetic rope. It’s a 12v winch with a handlebar switch and wireless remote. I’ll post a short video of it.

It is a lippert ramp door spring. Part number 173067. I bought them off of Amazon
