Such a beautiful and moving song. Even the Flower of Avalon version (the “upbeat” one) made me cry when I first heard it....

Caught a small piece of this a few years back on a college radio station. Now I know who the artist is... BRAVO...

After the death of Dave Carter, Tracy had so much courage to somehow keep going without him. She is brilliant in her own way, but with Carter, I really do believe they were headed together to greatness. Grammer witnessed Dave's death, in the hotel room they shared, when he came back that morning complaining of chest pains. He died in her arms. Dave Carter's legacy: he is forever with the great songwriters. Bob Dylan, Joni Mitchell, Townes Van Zandt, John Prine, Iris Dement, Dave Carter, and especially Leonard Cohen. RIP forever missed.

I saw Tracy at the Ukiah players theater in Mendocino County, CA. about seven years ago. I liked her (and her then partner, whose name escapes me) better than acts I have paid lots of money and travelled many miles to see. We (me and about 250 friends) can't wait for her to come back. Great talent at a great little venue.
