- Its finally here, i can now give my honest opinion on outward's definitive edition. Keep in mind that this is still my opinion and that it is fine not to agree with everything i say. Please let me know your opinion in the comments but stay civil !

I didn't know the stash chest system was new. I only played it with DE. It's nice to know what others didn't have.
Hehehe oldward was a bit different and though i am not the biggest fan of all the changes i would definitely say that DE is overall a better version.
Easily the best review I have seen, so many reviews they don’t even talk much about the changes which is what I wanted to know about. Thanks!

Great review! I'm currently about 20 hours in the DE, wish I had more free time, but I think I will easily double my played hours on the old version (150+... still not a lot for this incredible game)

Great review! Will definitely (hehe) switch to the DE once the author of Transmorphic updates it to work there. Also the unlockable pets are a thing I wanted a long time ago since we have this whole cosmetic tab that was very underutilized.

I am overall very happy with the definitive edition changes except for one change: the towns reset every 7 days of you not being in them thus breaking the backpack storage system and making you only have 1 safe place to store important items safely until you join a faction and buy a house. Now I have to take trips back to cierzo after every like 2 - 3 dungeons I do just to save what i want. I don't want to rush my faction quest because I like to prepare before starting a faction so that the parallel quests that are timed quests are easily completable with the gear I have
Yeah some changes did not fit everyone's taste. I am personally still outraged they changed the color of the bandage healing symbol xD
Bonjour bonjour ! Coming back after 200 hr gaming in DE . I still love big time this game !! Regarding your great review I wouldn t say that it has BUGS but more like ennoying GLITCHES while they have simple solutions . Like in Berg and its close surroundings which are like - on some spots - like Bermuda Triangle : don t even think about sharing an object with your coop friend by dropping it on the floor : it will vanish below into the Huber Felix Thiefaine s underworld oblivion of ze tabernacle ... 👻 -> Put your backpack on the floor instead ,. The Runic Lantern is still a bleeding pain in the eyes for the player, while having a chaotic background-foreground priority rendering, making scenes hard to read at night (what should be close is rendered as very far , and the opposite) .... Use it in dongeons only (close range) or during daylight ... I guess that you noticed that the playground s floor in the Ligth Mender Boss arena is fully transparent , letting you see a moving underground... Those devs & graph designers put a lot of love in this game ❤ Bravo les Cousines et Cousins !!!

I played the original with all DLC's and it was great.....the first time!
When i finished the main story i thought it would be fun to experiment with different builds and weapons. Or maybe different faction questline!
Then i realized that the "no fast travel" mode begun to annoy me!! Compined with the "figure out where you are on the map" really bothered me!
Great game but my deal breaker is the "no fast travel" mode!!!
I want to play but im tired of running......if you know what i mean!!
Anyway an 8/10 game!!!!
The no fast travel never really bothered me but i kinda understand people not liking it. It might sound like cheating but you can actually fast travel using the debug menu but the game really was not made with this in mind and might feel empty. Thanks for the comment!

Apparently it is because of a hardware limitation but i am not consol player so i dont know much...

I'm going to give this game a second chance and I'm going to review it, because I think most people are wrong about it.
I encourage you to take it slow, the game might be more enjoyable in coop. I have combat guides available if you struggle with it. I wish you the best of luck!

Not in a legit way. That being said there is a thing called the debug menu that allows you to remove skills and learn new ones. Debug is basically the dev tool and it can be activated very easily. I use it all the time for editing (for the free camera for example.)

Its a lie this is not on PS4 store for sale only regular game is for sale . Why is this definitive edition not on sale on ps4 now
I have said this before, the DE does not exist on ps4. It only exists on ps5.
When I open the game I only see the old menu, not the new one. In the store, it's also telling me to buy the game again even though I already have it on steam. Isn't that supposed to be a free update?
It was only a free update if you posessed the main game and the three brothers dlc before the official release of the DE on the 16 or 17th of may.

@@Fabio-zc7bs the de icludes the dlc content and many other things. Its a standalone version of the game. So yes, if you want to access it now you have to buy it.

@@Fabio-zc7bs the definitive edition was given for free to the hard and supporters of the game. Otherwise it was a way for the devs to close the outward page while they work on new projects.

That clunky combat though. This violates my personal rule of gameplay first
The combat is not as clunky as people describe it and the definitive edition has made it way more fluid than before. From a game design perspective outwards combat is incredible though not perfect from a technical point of view. That being said i am perfectly fine with people not liking it. Btw outward is definitely a gameplay first game as it is not the best on a technical point of view. Veteran players generally enjoy it for the insane ammount of builds you can make completely changing your gameplay at every run, as most of us know the map by heart and dont stay for the exploration and discovery.
@@pentagram4872 I can't see any change in the combat. It feels just as janky as the vanilla combat. Exactly the same imo
@@jmmywyf4lyf have done some testing its definitely different but as i said i cant really tell why. I think they reduced the recovery time on weapon animations a little but it might just be the game being nore fluid in the DE. The testing done is in favor of the first one though as the recovery time for skills seems unchanged. That being said it remains what it was at the core. The system is identical.

So, an already hard game that they made harder
Not really, the difference is really almost unoticeable and the buff to protection make you stronger to. They just wanted some very big enemies to be harder to kill early game. The balance changes are really well made. Btw outward is not really a hard game, there is a big entry wall but once you learn a little it crumbles very fast and you become unstoppable. ;)

yes it started happening quite a lot recently as the channel is growing faster right now that it ever did! i always remove them as soon as i can xD
I've tried several times, but this game bores me to death. And that God awful janky combat ruins what should be the fun parts. I'll never understand the praise this game gets.
Well you simply dont like it and its fine ;). Not a game for everyone. If you really want to try again you can check my combat guides. But combat is not the only system you might not like.
It is a patience and preparation focused rpg, with a focus on adventure rather than progression. In the same way LotR doesn't scratch the same itch of fantasy for some.
