- Olympic gymnast Lance Ringnald Analyzes the floor skills and routine of Brazilian Floor World Champion DAIANE DOS SANTOS with skill by skill insights and side by side comparisons. Daiane was the creator of two new gymnastics skills on the floor exercise and an inspiration for Rebeca Andrage and many other young gymnasts around the world.
Thank you for the video. She is a national treasure in Brazil ❤
Daiane is known for her energy and difficulty specially on floor but she always had a great choreography.
Ela começou a treinar com 10 anos muito tarde para esse esporte, no entanto conseguiu feitos incríveis 🎉❤
The legs of Daiane dos Santos are like loaded with springs - very powerful indeed.
Always great to see Daiane get her due! Could you possibly do a video on Deng LinLin?
Amei o vídeo ❤
Abraços do brasil
Daiane would have won many more medals if she had learned to absorb landings. She was so bouncy and often went out of bounds. Especially in the 10.0 era that killed her chances.
I agree. That seemed to be her biggest challenge, not rebounding on her landings. She was very springy. My best.
I love your channel
She was as well a 2012 olympian :)
Daiane ❤❤
Nossa diva Daiane dos Santos, fez o Brasil voar. 🥰🙌🏿🙌🏿🙌🏿❤️🇧🇷🇧🇷💪🏿✍🏿✍🏿
Not to be inconvenient or pedantic, but here's a tip for English speakers to pronounce Brazilian names: rule of thumb is that we will stress the penultimate syllable, so instead of DA-ia-ne, it's da-IA-ne; the same goes to an-DRA-de, instead of AN-dra-de.
Never be afraid to correct me or advise me. It helps me understand and say things correctly. thanks for the insight. My best.
@@OLYMPIANTEACHES-bh6gp I thought your pronunciation was pretty good. Besides, we are not obliged to pronounce names as in their native language when we are speaking another language. Brazilians don't pronounce English names well: Brad Pitt becomes Bredji Pitchi and so on and so forth.
@@GutoBCN prezado, Ana Vitória não disse que ele é obrigado a pronunciar corretamente. Ela apenas seu uma orientação para ele pronunciar melhor e parece-me que essa recomendação foi bem aceita.
Tão linda
Before Rebeca, there were many others, not just Daiane. Just because both are Blacks?? 🤔
No, it's because Daiane has 2 skills named after her and she's the first and only Brazilian woman to hold the title of world champion on the floor. In Brazil, she's even more famous than Rebeca due to past Olympics (2004/2008)
@@dalmolab i'm Brazilian. She does but the legacy of Brazilian gymnastics is not solely due Dos Santos. Very first world medal was won by Danielle Hipólito two years before Daiane and other Brazilian gymnasts represented my country besides all the difficulties they found like lack of investment on this sports 30,40 years ago. Also Jade Barbosa was the first Brazilian gymnast to win a medal on AA on a World Championships. They but also ALL the gymnasts, male (first gold olympic medal for Brazil in 2012) and female, who have contributed to the development of this sports in my country.
What makes Rebeca and Daiane unique from many others is their world titles, influence and inspiration to younger generations and doing skills for the first time or having exception difficulty levels and energy. There both really fun to watch.
Yes, there accomplishments and quality of gymnastics are what set them apart.
Thanks for your message. Yes, I agree, as you go back, there are many positive inspiration in previous generations. I got a request to analyze Daiane dos Santos. The skills named after her and the trends she started on floor are what set her apart but you are correct, there are always many that inspire future generations. Its just hard to get good quality video to analyze as the generations go back more. All my best.
Daiane reminds me of Surya Bonaly (figure skating): awesome athletic prowess mixed with crowd-pleasing showmanship 🫶🏾
Hai Lance :))) May i know your opinion and insight about Cheng Fei ( CHN) and Catalina Ponor ( ROM) ? ❤
They are both incredible and I plan to analyze them both. I will probably analyze Catalina next. Chengs vault influenced and changed womens vault and Catalinas the Olympic 5 Olympic medals and 3 compbacks defined her incredible quality when she was at her best. Cheng Fei, in my opinion, seemed above average mature in her gymnastics and had that Chinese classic great form and execution. Catalinas attitutde toward her gymnastics was uniquely driven to always challenge herself and reach her next highest level. Both legendary.
@@OLYMPIANTEACHES-bh6gp Cheng Fei 2004 and 2005 is quite different in physique. But still, her fx 2004 was superb. I do think, her change in physique that made her more outstanding in vault between 2005-2008. I wish thanks in advance to u for upcoming video! ♥️
