Awesome....used this technique on a stripped screw (one of 8) holding down a sprinkler indexing valve. Saved me $65,00 for a replacement part. Thank you.
Omfg, it actually works! Bless your little heart you GD legend you! 🙇♂️ you have no idea how much I appreciate this. Pure luck finding this, wasn’t even searching it. You sir are a hero we don’t deserve 🙇♂️
Thank you OG! This worked on helping secure the platic grill covering the hot tub jets. I guess over time with the heat the platic might've expanded. Thanks again.
I have a Camry 2017 Just removed and cleaned and replaced the cabin blower motor. Mouse nest in it ! It is mounted on 3 PLASTIC sockets with steel screws ! I managed not to strip them, but I have mouse invasion, so if I have to do it again, this trick will be invaluable ! Blower nice and quiet now.. Thank You !!!
You helped me fix my soldering iron casing with this method. I didnt use a cable tie as the hole was so small, but cut a bit of plastic from a 3d printed shim i had laying around. Thank you sir
Good tip, then an advert kicked in about British trains , saying dreams start here, well it’s been my experience that all dreams end if you travel on a British train.
I wonder if this will work on my air filter box, i also have a metal screw and a plastic threaded receiver but in my case i need to screw and unscrew it time to time when i need to service my air filter
One question, but just for a double check, can you unscrew the screw after this? Probably yes, but better be safe than sorry, I need to fix my splash shied and If that works, man you are a life saver
Yes that works with no issues. I imagine if you had to do this several times, simply inserting a new piece of plastic in there would do the trick as well.
Gonna use this on a B & D workmate, got 2 stripped threads in the jaw mechanism, I know this will work, just not gonna do it now cause it's 9:35 pm here in the UK and I've just popped can number 7, let you know how I get on
If it's a really small hole, and the zip tie makes it difficult... you can also use a plastic drinking straw, like from McDonald's or wherever. Thinner plastic, makes it easier to use this method, probably not as much holding grip, but for a really small screw and hole... probably don't need a ton of holding power.
Ingenuity, Playa. Anybody can toss money at a problem. But can you get it back to bashing within minutes? No matter what platform you come at me on you will lose. Fake rich boy
@@OGs_Playground yes, it's called getting a tap but you're obviously a horrible mechanic/hack who just doesn't know any better. Oh well, hackers gonna hack.
You win the internet repair category for that one.

This is an og carpenter trick. It works great for loose door hinge screws. Good tip
great tip I just had 10 /32 screws so I used insulation off some 22 ga teflon wire worked really well now its tigh clamp on the handlebars.
Good demonstration. Love you
Life saver! Thank you.
😮worked like a charm, thanks
really good! Gonna try it now :)
Thanks for sharing
Great idea
what would you say to do with way smaller holes you couldnt fit one of those into
Cut it smaller
I bet solder is pliable enough to conform to the threads. That may work even better.
would a piece of cloth work? like ur shoe laces?
You are freakin amazing!!
thx, worked.

Did you attempt it yet?

Thanks mate!
Great! But you can also wrap the screw with teflon.
What kind of magic do you have for a metal screw with stripped threads that just won’t come out?

These arrma 4s rear diffs won’t stop cracking open 😢😢

Just saved me a new chassis. Ive been told to use cotton buds and super glue but prefer your method.
