    washers also increase the area load is distributed on. A 10.8 washer can be pretty good at distributing the load on 235 steel.

    Fantastic. And me as the future bridge engineer- very helpful. Even though my University (RTU, Latvia, Europe) would be a teacher like you. The question could be acquired through your pdf files on base reactions, shear stresses, busbars reaction viewed, etc ..? Thank you!

    In the last example of the bolt working in shear. Isn't there an additional moment because the forces pulling are not aligned?
