Usually I don't watch those challenges, but idk, there is something unique about this man. The videos are not too long and actually entertaining to watch.
It’s a combination of the narration and presentation style. He has created something that is both easy to watch and at the same time gripping enough to want to see it through to its conclusion, all while stuffing his face in a quite visceral way. Props to him!
Here's a tip I recommend for most videos on youtube. If you put the video speed on 1.5 it quickens the pace up a lot, but leaves the audio easy enough to hear most of the time.

This here lies the confusing. In the UK, Thick cut potato slices in this form we call chips, The thin slices we call fries. And potato slices in round form we call crisps. Ask me the behind of scenes of this? I don't know lol But there you go.

if it was cod its about £20/kg and haddock around £15/kg unprepared that fish was easily 2lbs/900g then add the prep time other ingredients sides £30 for that is very reasonable

Spot on. I can get a 'battered super cod' locally. Costs £10. It's bigger than the one shown. Those chips shown are, maybe, 3 large. That's a further £7.50. 4 pots of sauces are £4 quid. Bread is free. That's £21.50. And, as I said, the super cod is bigger. That's one expensive chippy.
I work in a restaurant in the usa and we had to increase some prices on things. People hate it, I hate it, but with covid the price of everything had gone up. That's if we can even get it at all. Also the customers pay to keep the place staffed and the lights on. It's a tough business.

just to be clear I do think both Beard and the other competitive eater are fantastic at what they do but it feels of late like she’s constantly doing little digs at Beard by taking on every challenge he has done to beat his times. I much prefer Beards videos which are entertaining as well as impressive eating! He’s keeping it original finding new challenges to have a go at 👍🏻 keep it up Beard!

I work in a restaurant in the usa and we had to increase some prices on things. People hate it, I hate it, but with covid the price of everything had gone up. That's if we can even get it at all. Also the customers pay to keep the place staffed and the lights on. It's a tough business.
