My little 5 year old granddaughter loves these kinds of programs. It is good to start them YOUNG on reality, educational, and character building movies.

As I recall they used three Shetland Sheep dogs while filming. My late step-father wrote the screenplay for this episode and when filming was complete, he was gifted one of the dogs. His name was Cookie who live to be 16. Trained to obey hand, instead of oral, signals, he was a blessed and dearly loved part of our family. One thing, Cookie, shown at the beginning falling off boat, never liked the water again. 💦 I still have that beautiful boy’s picture on my desk more than 50 years later…..❤

This is one of the best dog-related episodes the company made, both during Walt's lifetime and afterward. The unusual location really separates it from most of the others, and the dog is so lovable. Thank you for posting it!

When I see all these movies I can only say... THANK YOU.
In France most of them had not been released, or released long ago.
I am now 40... But since I am ok with english speaking I can see them thanks to your channel...
In France we had a saturday evening tv show that was also called "THE DISNEY CHANNEL " from 1985 to 1988.
    1985-86: WELCOME TO POOH CORNER
    ZORRO
    DAVY CROCKETT
    DANIEL BOONE (Dewey Martin)
    1987: GALLEGHER
    THE SCARECROW OF ROMNEY MARSH
    ELFEGO BACA
    THE SWAMP FOX
    TEXAS JOHN SLAUGHTER
    1988: DUCK TALES
    FIVE MILES CREEK
But the show stopped at the end of 1988 due to disagreement between Disney representatives and our channel that broadcasted the show.
I was 3 at the beginning and too young to remember the other shows.
Except for Zorro all the other series were never having a rerun except for THE SCARECROW OF ROMNEY MARSH and some of THE SWAMP FOX and TEXAS JOHN SLAUGHTER (summer 1988).
None of the other programs you show here had been broadcasted in France as far as I know...
Nowadays "Disney " means nonsense (STAR WARS and MARVEL 🤨🙄)... SO...
    THANK YOU !
    Regards
    Patrick

Wow! Thanks for sharing the history of Disney TV in France! I’m glad you can rediscover these programs from your childhood. I’m 49 and like you, watched some of these programs as a kid and so it’s wonderful watching them again, but also discovering many, many new ones!

@@keepingwaltindisney In France we also have a "Disney Channel " by satellite but it came in 1996 if I remember well.
And now it is no longer "Disney" if I may say so (Hannah Montana, Spiderman...).
For other tv... We had reruns of Zorro from summer 2008 until 2019 it came back with the first covid quarantine but did not last long...
I discovered the other Disney séries from 2009 thanks to RUclips but in France we never got any rerun of Swamp Fox, Gallegher and these tv shows you present here like BOOMERANG, THE TENDERFOOT (LOL the Zorro set and uniforms used again !!) never came on tv channels in France as far as I know...
I am glad if my story was helpful.
      Thanks again.
      RIP Mr DISNEY...
      Regards from France
      Patrick

    Dear Keeping Walt.
You have an awesome collection of my Sunday nights in the 60's. One nice thing is that now I can see them in color.
Have you come across a Sunday night Disney program about a young boy in Puerto Rico that explores El Morro? I've been looking for it for years and it seems to have disappeared. It was a very good travel and exploratory episode.

Do you happen to know the title of the episode? I just uploaded a Puerto Rico episode titled, “Cristobalito, the Calypso Colt.” Not sure if that’s the episode you are looking for.

@@keepingwaltindisneyAfter watching it and trying to imagine it in black and white, I am very sure that it was the show I was thinking of. I was maybe 11 or 12 and it intrigued me.
Later on in life at 21 I moved to San Jaun for a job and the first day I had off I walked to the fort to explore and it was only by the Disney magic of my youth that I even knew it existed. Lessons learned from them at that time were very helpful as you aged.
