I'm still coping with dinos
"We limited Miscellaneosaurus because is a strong card that lets dinos be inmune to interruptions. Anyway, here's Sangen Summoning"
I would argue that losing to CBTG but being a quick lingering effect is way better than losing to any S/T removal, while Sangen searches but Misc does the actual summoning (bad pun, I'll see myself out)
Archosaur to Almiraj doesnt hit the same
@@pamoon_ Don't use Almiraj since then only Archosaur is your normal summon; use Relinquished Anima and then use Xeno to summon Giant Rex and Frostosaurus before linking off Anima with the Rex to make any link 2 that is still allowed under Xeno Lock (Dino Dragon SeaSerpent or Wyrm, theres a few like Reprodocus) and this still allows the standard Lars + Rank 4 + UCT
yeah they just want you to buy boosters, they dont care about dinos atm. Im cheesed they banned Baronne just to make the new Yubel xyz thats basically a baronne too
My soul just got absolutely read by the Ashened play. Well done Josh.
World Champ diff
Everyone that fell for the ashened play and listening at the ashened and closing remarks section: ''Oh god dammit schmidtty''
Same.. bro red rebooted me
I’m hyped to see you pilot hero. That’s one of those decks that doesn’t end up in the hands of “pros” very often. There’s a handful of super dedicated players that do decent with it
That has always been my argument. I won't mind if later he says it's bad for x/y/z/ reasons since he at least gave it a chance.
IMO it's a really good deck but just like Branded suffers from high-impact counters that also work well against the current top tier, while it is very punishing for greedy HERO players.
I wish we could have a collab with JadenBR teaching Josh the ropes
Heroes is just skill drain, macro cosmos and anti spell in disguise 😢
My main problem with hero is that it blows its whole load turn one
@@RoBert-gj9pl This is an issue of going first being much better than going second (HERO is a going second OTK deck) while the deck doesn't have any way to protect itself, even from the older removal in the game like a Raigeki. Although with current support, giving it an omni would make it extremely toxic since it has a lot of non OPT effects.
@jkromes20 this isn't true with Infernal Rage. I've shuffled back everything except Devicer for Wake, fully resetting main/extra and the deck can grind if needed, but you almost never reach a grinding point because the deck can OTK so easily (provided you play and aren't stopped very early in your plays)
I just like the favorite contact into Shining Neos option. Just a solid piece of interaction that the deck was missing
Uh the salamangreat enjoyer didnt give us his impression on the salad with code of soul
That's a good thing, that means that no one expects salam
Hearing the words, "you can play melodious cards in it" on a competitive tier list is wild. Never thought I'd see that day.
Imagine saying in 2020 "Yubel is going to be one of the best decjs in the format" lmao
I watched the Ashened review, skipped around, jumped to the end, and still got baited by the top-tier placement. Well done.
I think Josh is severely underestimating Pure Melodious here. He should give it a try, the deck has a lot of room for non-engine, it plays through a lot of handtraps, and its end board is hard to crack.
Why is everyone forgetting chimera?
thats a good thing tbh
What's that?
@@lament22can't say I disagree xD
Let them sleep on it
To avoid raising the price on it even further
The ashened bit got me lol
Its the 007 goldeneye pause music in the background for me 🤘🏻
im coping on goblins as a budget/rogue deck right now. it can put up some genuinely very strong boards, but it can also be weak to a lot of different non engine cards. im taking it to a small regional later this month
I have a goblin build with loads of level 3 ghost girls and one with the Superheavy engine in it. It feels like Horus is the best engine to go with it but I just can't justify the Imsety cost sadly. What's your list out of interest?
I'm really looking forward to getting the Yubel cards. I tried building Yubel with Fire King about a year ago and while I THINK there was an idea, it was bricky as hell. But, seeing one of my favorite characters from GX get such powerful cards and being a threat makes me happy.
Ive been playing the deck for the past 3 months give or take and unchained yubel has been doing me justice. Being able to side skill drain has been doing NUMBERS.
Care to share the list @@tbaggins5349?
Ive been playing branded yubel since nightmare dropped vut im taking runick yubel to locals to see how it does
I was playing shining sarc at the Seattle regional only dropping games against snake eye Kash and yubel and ending 4/2/2 and getting 55th
Congrats. Can you share your list ?
Shining sarc is very funny going second.
Ive been playing volcanic horus, im finding it very good tbh, going first if you dont get handtrapped PERFECTLY you ftk, horus baits most hand traps and even through getting ashed or impermed can still set up a board decently powerful. And emperor taxes snake eye to either force flamberge early to push back, or they waste poplar search on subversion. yeah it doesnt insta win tbh but ive been going back and forth against a lot of top decks, im just a local player but i think there is potential.
I would love some Skull Servant play
Just wait for that awesome fiendsmith archetype and the new fusion for Yubel. It cooks some pretty crazy endboards.
You missed one of the decks that got support in legacy of destruction! What are your thoughts on illusions/chimera?
Okay so for the rest of time, you have to use that 007 N64 menu song.
It just slaps so hard. So smooth.
Would love to hear extended thoughts on Rescue Ace if you have the time. Turbulence is uhh... still a hell of a card
Rikka - Sorry to write this, I know. But the deck is really strong atm.
and expensive af lmfao, glad i could sell my stuff
@@p0rc41music5 what’s expensive? Just jasmine? Lol
Really cool info but I think you missed the chimera deck. I think that with the new illusion support it cant be lower than rouge. Do you agree?
absolute Banger OST
Melodious is one of those weird decks that it feels like everyone agrees that the deck is genuinely quite strong, and while it is getting some real results, it doesnt have quite as much representation as i expected it would.
Not sure if i should blame 1st Movement being very expensive and a necessary piece in the pure build, or D Barrier being popular, or Tenpai being much cheaper and also a lot more brainless
I also feel similarly about Memento, although obviously that deck is nowhere near the same level, but I think it's a decent deck in its current form
Its a Rikka or Mannadium situation i figure. Strong deck, but the art possibly turns people off. That and its a pendulum deck, so...
It looks fun though, but i've been in the lab messing around with Shining Sarc. I have such a bad habit about trying to break mediocre archetypes, lol. RN the best synergy i've found is with a PUNK package since Gandora + a level 3 tuner climbs into level 11 synchros like PEP or Amazing Dragon, and one of the PUNK tuners has a quick effect synchro that you can do on the opponent's turn for anyone who can't afford SP.
@@four-en-tee Nobody give a fuck about the art for competitive purpose. If tommorow there announce the most broken Traptrix support and the deck became top tier, every good player will play it despit them making the same joke about the art every time.
No, if a deck have low representation despit being considered strong by top player, it's for other specific reason. Like, for Rikka, it's a deck that ended up shining during europeen tournament because of player that was very good at pilot it and total lack of preparation about this deck by other player, but was less oppresive when the meta is prepared for.
@@Animexdraco For a clear Tier 0 super broken deck, no competitive player will ever care about what they look like. But for the 6th-7th best deck? What it looks like can wildly change personal perception.
Don't forget attractive people have an edge when being evaluated on professional performance, a much more serious and important thing than deck selection... If the edge is small enough you're picking the preetier one.
If they made broken cards for Traptrix tommorow and they became better than Branded but worse than Snake-Eyes, it would be strong, but barely ever played.
@@felipebarreto97 bullshit
It is like the 5 kinda strong enought deck or so and most others were already long out or are cheaper or have more people tinkering around with it. Also 1 movment solo being expensive doesn't help.
You got me with the Ashened play. Well Played, exactly what I expect from the World Champion
What are your thoughts on RDA? Ik it's not a particularly good deck, but would you say its rogue or completely unplayable? I've done okay at my locals with the deck but I feel like that's mostly due to luck and the tournament size.
What about (im not on something illegal) Abyss Actor?
2 bounces, can survive the OTK from Tempai, Fantastic Theater is a good negate, has room for non-engine and the extradeck is flexible af for the 3rd turn from syncros with Ash to make lv 10 or 7 or xyz or other power links like SP, Accesscode, etc
Runick yubel tho, your thoughts 👀
love the Video, what u think about dark world, i know its pretty old but got some support, and isnt it actally pretty strong with the hadloop, leaves ur enamey without hand cards when u start with dw
mfg
As much as i love lightsworn (it was my first real deck) the new support doesn't seem to solve the issue that it needs a turn or two in order to properly get going.
Branded will be meta defining once the alt arts come out
Yugioh fans when the yugituber doesn't put their 10 year old shitdeck in tier 1:
love how you say that and theorically a 20 years old deck (Yubel) is probably going to be t1/t1.5 like 1 month from now
@n3kuzya lol not when they get hit with worldsea dragon...had 5 yubel players scoop on duelingnexus when they saw the zelantis lol.
@@tr4pkeedyoungking677nexus aint exactly the pinnacle of duel ability
@@hightidekraken I feel you on that
@@tr4pkeedyoungking677 >Dueling nexus
Lol.
What do you think of the kashtira tenpai deck that PAK made?
I know there are somre old decks, but what do you think about Dark world(danger) and salamangreat
0:47 "Oh no where's ophion lol"
Holy shit that's a name I never thought I'd hear again
I just found my evilswarms i built as a kid... its not as good as i remembered them being lol. Ophion gets outed by EVERYTHING now adays. Searching pandemic and the other trap was used ro be good :/
Have you tried centurion with shifter? You can still set up the standard board with one card combo not even needing to field spell on your turn.
Hello Josh you miss Dragon link ...also in a future for dragón link how you will built it
Liked for the 007 music , commenting to say Yubel is insane when it goes uninterrupted. If the format ever shifts away from tons of handtraps i see it being tier 1 before the new fusion drops.
Melodious VV has been performing great for me, I find it gives me that little push that I wish the pure build had
Watching this video on May 20, 2024 .. Centurion rogue is crazy. The amount of tops it got at regionals and Nats Post LEDE is crazy for a "rogue" deck
I think that yubel is underrated rn based entirely off the fact that the lists running around arent great yet. People arent optimizing the lists quite yet
That 007 goldeneye jam is nice 👍🏼
what you say about Vaalmoinka ? dutch National we saw it Round 4 against Horus Snake eye, and it won, maybe its a good Locals / Regionals deck ?
That Goldeneye menu theme at the end tho
Melodious Mentioned! LET'S F GO
That goldeneye pause menu music 😌👌
Hmmm, well let's try.
What is your opinion on Plants, or, Rikka/Sunavalon, Rika/Aroma, or Rikka/Aroma/Sunavalon.
I know Raika is supposed to be a new Plants deck I think? But as a Master Duel player I honestly know nothing about it, so I'm interested in the other variants of Plants and where they would fall.
Hi Joshua! What do u think of Drytron?
What do you guys think about runick spright livetwin or just runick spright?
Josh Josh did you see jesses new plan lines with new plant support its actually really helpful for the deck.
What do u think of Fire king/Tribrigade?
Do you think lightsworn shaddolls could come back this format?
How would you rank exosisters in the current format?
What do you think about Marincess this format ?
Personally I’m looking forward to the stuff I’ve been tinkering with in ashened unchained. It feels like it’s almost there I can tell it can work I just gotta work out one issue
What are your thoughts on evil eye?
Do you have an opinion on Dragon Link? I know it lost Baronne and Savage but cards like Chengying and Draco Berserker seem pretty decent in the deck at least against Snake Eye
The other day i player against It, with Lab. He went First and i had 0 ht. Solid 8 minute combo (borrelend and xyz 10), he passes i go normale Arianna no eff, ty-phon boucne the xyz, set some cards and pass back. At one point i go daruma, board completely gone and he ffs.
Imo Loses to too mamy cards, like nib
@@federicoguerini9014 There are 2 ways to play the deck I feel like and it depends on the matchup. You can wombo combo and spit about a bunch of monsters or you can play a little more control with Seals and the Bystials. Against Lab you definitely want to do the more control gameplay and try to out grind them so in your case it was a player difference I feel like. Lab doesn't really care about Borrelend or monster negates.
@@g-offthegreat he was blind G1. But i think trying to play control vs Lab is not that good, only thing that can keep u up with Lab are bystials
My cat 😭
Tbh for me, purrely is similar to branded, where the more prepared people are for those deck, the worse it gets
And same as branded, it can play through handtraps to an extend
Yubel is a pretty good deck even now imo, at least definitely not worse than HERO or Vanquish Soul. It can easily play around hts (at least if you draw some engine) and you can vary the board between a spoly on the opponent's turn or a big negate board, so you can also play around spoly and board breakers. After Phantom of Yubel it will be definitely be at least t1.5, after Fiendsmith maybe even the best deck.
Dude be quiet please, i win so many games with yubel because no one has it on the radar 😂
@@Asian.milfhunter-69 lmao
SHHHHH
broo
Yubel is crazy tho, at least in potential/good. Voiceless is free, it plays good under shifter and like kash is very free sometimes if u have chronicle, tenpai, lets be honest if u in battlephase and u have 2 Yubel, you win, branded is hard ngl but branded is only good when the player is good, not the deck itself. Give some respect to the Homeboy/-girl
I will stand and die on the hill that Vaalmonica is at least rogue.
Although my faith has wavered after I remembered that nib says summon 5 monsters and not summon 5 times.
To clarify for anyone who doesn't know, the Vaalmonica combo only summons 4 times, but it does summon 5 monsters, so it can still be nib'd and I hate it.
The only (relatively good) idea I have is to play 3 terrortop, 1 taketomborg, and a bamboozling gossip shadow, but feel free to guess why that doesn't stop nib under bagooska.
The other idea I have is complete Copium, but you could hypothetically use the Xyz Armor trap to xyz summon bagooska on your opponent's turn. The least copium part is that it forces tenpai to commit to a monster before they have the chance to use imperm.
Also note that this wouldn't be the xyz armor trap with the rank 3 that searches for it, this would be 3 of the trap plus 3 angel with tears of blue to potentially set it from, the deck.
The 007 Goldeneye music had me bopping my head a lot
Rushed to comment this
I'm curious where you'd place Swordsoul.
I was wondering what your opinion on raidraptor is, I've found it's in a bit of a weird spot this format
I havent played the deck myself but I‘ve been told it struggles against Veiler/Imperm on Raiders Knight and those cards are in pretty much every deck at the moment so not the greatest position probably
Not knowing if hero is playable is wild dark law and plasma are phenomenal this format plus the continuous spell gives it targetting protection plus dpe is still solid plus droplets send absolute zero is still amazing plus acid is a good play its one of the better toolbox decks
Is that golden eye pause theme in the bgm
Tenpai is a deck that highlights the competitive/casual divide. Competitive players (especially those who make a living off being such) tend to prefer low diversity, high skill. Casual and casually competitive prefer high diversity, low skill. Low skill refering to the combo lines being pretty straight forward.
I prefer the latter mainly because I don't have a very fast processing speed. However, I can see why players may prefer the former. Not only the decks, but the people you're likely to face become a lot more predictable. On top of that, there's a greater challenge in a "chess" format. Victories feel earned to those hyper competitive types.
Like with any format, it's about what Konami wants. What generates the most hype and makes them the most money? Tier 0 formats kill locals, but some of the largest regionals and YCSs occurred in a low diversity format. Diversity helps locals, but does it take away from regionals? Just from a business and psychological standpoint, I'd love to know how Konami decides its formats.
You can also have diverse but skill intensive formats. It kind of depends on how exactly you define diverse, though.
It's an insult to AgOv format (my favorite competitive format of all time) to think it's low skill. Your argument is slightly flawed, because the divide isn't about low/high skill but variance instead.
By eliminating variance, you can fully invest in playtesting while having a dedicated group collectively figure out the idea deck build. So you'll get an overwhelming advantage due to experiencing almost every interaction/scenario in a narrow/tier 0 format to the point you can accurately predict the opponent's hand and plays, while you have a "silver bullet" for almost every matchup waiting in your side.
Little Jimmy with Blackwings has no chance to top in a format like that, unlike a more open format.
So in the end it has nothing to do about skill since every format is skillful (except maybe tier 0 dice rolls like "Year of Firewall"), but more about gatekeeping non-pros from getting good results consistently.
@@babrad handtrap turbo format. anyway
Josh being VERY generous here. What a king.
What do you think about thunder dragon? Maybe with runick
Meh
Centurion just makes me sad. It's such a fun deck to pilot and has a really strong ressource game if you don't commit your entire line to Calamity. But they're way too expensive for what they can accomplish.
Still plan on getting them sometime soon though.
Hero player and I'm very good. Building a 60 stack raidraptor and it's gonna be fire
I think potential should have been under rogue on the tier list
Agreed
Where is Paleozoic? After what you achieved at regional with them Joshua i still hope deck can be explored more.
THE RUclips FROGS 😂😂😂
How do you feel about Salamangreat w/Code of Soul?
I know you didn't ask me, but it's really good card, but the problem is that it didn't solve salam problems, but directly or indirectly, it made the deck more powerful, but I don't recommend playing it, especially when VV is in the meta, because Salam is blind to it.

Dragon Link? Haven't heard anything about this one even before it lost Borreload, but Im curious about what it does these days.
I think it's a fair rogue. Losing both Baronne and Borreload means you can't play anymore around board breakers or nibiru that easily... that said, the deck is kinda the same as it was before.
I built lightsworn tear and it’s fun, but unfortunately charge of the light brigade mills for cost. So it’s kind of awkward.
"I feel like Runick has potential"
Gotta buy those ashened!
ashened in rogue/locals and memento in meh it's criminal, memento even now it's pretty playable as rogue, once info comes along i bet he rise up to at least top t2 if not t1
Hero is good deck if you get a good hand to summon dark law plasma and negate effect cards its a good chance to win the duel
Any viability in Anti Meta Stun doing anything noteworthy?
nice tierlist
I honestly think Ragnaraika doesn't really do anything other than slightly bump Traptrix (and I do mean slightly) and enable a new Generaider build.
Heard Josh saying Tenpai isn't good last week 🤣
What do you think of Salamangreat
Why no one talking about Josh throwing the goldeneye menu music on in the background
I think Memento can become Tier 2 because of the new support. The consistency for this deck is above average. Foolish burial goods for example is a very strong starter for this deck because of Mementotlan Fusion grave effect. This deck does not need Crossout Designator because you can dodge hand traps and play through Droll & Lock Bird.
wow actually read me like a book with the ashened play
momento best deck, summon 5k beater pass will never get old
Josh himself not putting salad smh I was curious what his thoughts were since code of soul dropped
Salad is literally like snake eyes its just a fire deck but you can search a counter trap and ash and a board wipe
which deck or archetype do you recommend for going 2nd? im between tistina or mikanko, Im aware none is competitive but im looking for a deck to have some fun
Tempai, i think Is the only option, ppl are prepared for going First cuz of tempai and playing other deck dosnt pay off imo
I've seen tistina played more like a control deck that a blind second deck
Yubel best deck!
I'm going to fine space for droll specifically for mannadium
Memento is already in potential. But yeah, it's going to be very good once the new support comes out.
What do you think about ninjas?
I want your opinion on xyz sharks
I love It that VS is still good. They have a lot of interruption like Razen, Ceasar, Mad love, dust devil, snow devil and the big amount of handtraps (not as much as Tenpai).
But Tenpai still best deck!
I don’t wanna hear a word from you about Memento after Infinite Forbidden drops 💀
I had Trident Drag for years…I now get to sell it or play it 😂
Where would you put Blackwing?
