You can buy canned snails and shells, you stuff the snails into the shells and then smear the opening with garlic butter, then bake. Serve with crusty toasted French bread slices. Yum. Americans don't seem to like them much.
@@hatchling88 Here in America, people mainly know snails as garden pests. Eat snails??? Ewww!! Maybe that's why we prefer to call them "escargots"! But they truly are yummy! 😊
The wooden bowls were made from the burls on trees. I like the oval one you got good job. Wash with dawn dish soap then oil with mineral oil like you would use on nice cutting boards. Do not soak or leave in water ever!!! And no dishwasher either. I have several round ones well close to round in assorted sizes. Love them.
Hi Julian and Kayla. I played with that magnetic hair game when I was a kid. I’m 77 years old. Love watching all your videos, both the picking and the sales.
Those 3 stooges Santa Clause from Hallmark... they are also a set of "Hear no evil, Speak no Evil, See no Evil." Which is also another collectable trio for folks. Its really funny to have that "ignore all evil" set as a santa set. I guess that's right though.... santa brings presents whether you are bad or good.
5:00 That is for escargot. Considering that escargot are not now and have never been popular in the US, it is shocking how many escargot plates can be found at thrift stores. I believe they were a popular wedding gift for a minute.
Holy moly a slew of people pouring into GW today! ( : Hey. You found a dad at the GW!! Can't beat that!! ( : I love that you always want to put Kayla in a bag! Lol! ( : It's because you love her sooo much! ( :
Oh my goodness, I'm from Washington and see no one has pinned that state yet. My next travels, I will be stopping by and will for sure pin and sign your book. Sending my favorite reselling couple, love from Seattle Washington ❤, Cheers
Another great video! Someone may have already mentioned this (I didn’t read through all the comments), but the terminology for those type of old bowls (assuming they are old/antique) would be “primitive”. Some are specifically called dough bowls, trenchers or troughs, often depending on shape. Hope this helps or someone pops in to school me even more! 😁
The sticky zipper on the Brunswick bag- run a candle along the zipper teeth and run the zipper back and forth a few times.. Displaying small stuff in bowls and baskets on racks and shelves are good. I like the new rack. Just need to attach it to the pegboard for stability.
I had one of those magnetic hair, mustache toys when I was 5 and in the hospital. My parents brought me a few toys. It was a children’s hospital and they had a play room for the kids.
Great deals this day and wonderful finds! That wooden bowl is beautiful, I didn’t realize how much something like that would cost. You hit that one right Kayla awesome I’m glad you found it. The booth is awesome glad you’re selling there😊 Wonderful work on all your doing ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️💜
Yes, even though the brown dish was originally designed for holding snails, it works great stuffed mushrooms, keeping them from rolling around in the pan when they bake.
Fun Finds.. Who woulda thunk there were Escargot plate/servers? ~ Keep your booth full & sell well.. ~ Glad you moved Jewelry up under your Sign.. No longer wasted space..
Great shelf! Yes, just pack that booth full! Put a little $1 or old tool box in your car with hammer, screw driver/various heads, pliers, assorted screws & nails, etc. Doesn't have to be expensive. Then you'll have when needed. That little vase looked like from Italy. Could have been Mexican Talavera, and can have value. It was marked on bottom. Looked up and also found Czech & Modra Slovakia in $20-30 range. Great jewelry bag! Hope sales were good. Cute you want to take Kayla around in a bag with you. I always wondered about you putting her in something, too. Ha, ha! Your Dad has such a booming voice. He could do commercials. Thanks for the fun! Cat
In the jewellery lot did you check the green glass necklace with a black light, for Uranium glass. I recently found one at a car boot sale. Love your videos.
You probably don’t know what that hair thing was. I used to have several of those growing up. I grew up before all the electronic gadgets were invented. Example……. etch a sketch, etc….
Thanks so much for watching we are on whatnot right now 😊
Haaaa brown dish for snails escargot heeee
You serve snails (escargots) in the brown dishes. Each will hold 6 of them.
You can buy canned snails and shells, you stuff the snails into the shells and then smear the opening with garlic butter, then bake. Serve with crusty toasted French bread slices. Yum. Americans don't seem to like them much.

I've seen them for stuffed mushroom caps
Yes!
At 4:59, that brown pottery dish with the 6 depressions in it is used to serve escargot (snails)
The original magnetic hair toy was called Wooly Willie. I know they were sold at least as far back as 1963.
I watched this video after a really hard day and that remark about the bowl "or a really small canoe" made me laugh. I needed that, thank you. 🙂
I loved those magnet hair things when I was a kid!

11:21 Briefly, in the 80’s, it was fashionable to wear bowling shoes and carry a purse made to resemble a bowling ball bag.
Thankfully, I never saw anyone do that! I graduated in 82, and I guess the fad just never caught on in the St. Louis metro area.
5:00 That is for escargot. Considering that escargot are not now and have never been popular in the US, it is shocking how many escargot plates can be found at thrift stores. I believe they were a popular wedding gift for a minute.
People probably saw Pretty Woman !

Excellent info on that ! I did notice most said primitive dough trenchers
That cute talavera vase 2:54 is made in Mexico.
That little vase is 100% from Slovakia, not Mexico. My husband is Slovak and I have many pieces of Modra pottery.
Omg I love the brown elephant and the fat sheep

Weird is a super way to keep the romance and connection strong as long as both agree on the weird ! 🎉😊
I found a box of 4 Jurassic Park III toys for $3.50 at Goodwill today. I snatched them up so quick. They are from 2000.
GW goofed on the Dewalt case, good for you. The wooden bowl is neat. Look who you ran into at GW, dad. God bless stay safe until the next video 💓 😍

I had one of those magnetic hair, mustache toys when I was 5 and in the hospital. My parents brought me a few toys. It was a children’s hospital and they had a play room for the kids.
Great finds!!! I personally don’t see how people think you treat Kayla bad. You guys are awesome together! 😊
The things that serve the snails I was thinking clams casino or stuffed mushrooms. Love the bakery rack for display at your antique corner
Seeing how sparse your shelves are and how you still find items (1st store) makes me feel good! Thanks!

You could put stuffed mushrooms in it
Yes, even though the brown dish was originally designed for holding snails, it works great stuffed mushrooms, keeping them from rolling around in the pan when they bake.
She is so gentle and sweet❤
I’m in Iowa, I’d come to your booth if I lived closer or was visiting that area. I’m so glad you thrift as a couple, so much fun.

Great finds! I would have walked right past that big wooden bowl. 😅
The bowl is teak or burl wood I think. Great money maker. congrats.
Julian is hilarious…I just want to know how many southern homes are serving Escargot? I’m looking forward to the world cork display in your booth🥰
OHMAGOSH I made the comment of the day!!! Thank you. Nice finds and that bowl! Wow, wonder how many people looked at it and put it back on the shelf.
Love the No Cart Team!
The snail bowl could suffice as a ring dish for display or on your dresser/shelf.
Escargot at a restaurant are served on those brown dishes with the indentations where each one sits.
Trolley is used in Britain. A buggy is what you put your toddler in. Moved to Canada and had to learn a brand new language 😂 strollers and carts
Yep we call them a trolley here in New Zealand lol
=) i think that is better then cart and buggy =)
The dishes for escargos

That old bowl is a bread making bowl! Very old! Women had to get up every morning and make bread for the day! Our daily bread 😉
Make sure that wood piece needs to be cleaned and use minerals oil to make it look good for resale... Plus dad needs hair cut....
Wish i lived near you cause i love those mushroom canisters!! ❤
We call them 'trolleys' in Australia too 🛒
Escargot.....

I think Kayla could fit into that fanny pack. Then you could carry her around everywhere. Great to see Dad in the video again. Nice pickups!
More KAYLA !!
Viewer from Moscow Idaho!
To hold the communion wine at church
You probably don’t know what that hair thing was. I used to have several of those growing up. I grew up before all the electronic gadgets were invented. Example……. etch a sketch, etc….
