Really if he doesn't want to say anything he could at least move the horse away into the box I have seen other guards do that when they don't want the horse touched. So he has started to say something, good but needs to be a bit more forceful.

This is disappointing, to say the least. For those of us. That truly care. For the well being. Of the Royal Guards/Guard Horses. To leave it to the discretion Of the Royal Guards. Defeats the purpose. After spending all that time and money. To implement something. That should be common practice and not an odd occurrence. It only takes one massive shout from the Royals Guards. To set the tone. And the tourists will follow. Just like when a tourist touches the horse others follow. It's the same principle in reverse. The lines do work. What's needed is enforcement and self policing. I can understand the Royal Guards frustration having to repeat themselves. It's a work in progress. Cooperation by all is needed. Regardless, of the disappointment. I adore and respect the Royal Guards.❤️💂‍♀️

Relax everyone , I had a live stream running from 1.00pm to 3.45pm and the Blues were totally on the ball ! Anyone who stepped over the line towards the horses were told quietly and firmly " step back behind the line " ! One incident is regrettable , yes , but let's please remain as John has asked , civil towards the Troopers we don't know their orders and why should we ? The Trooper was spoken to and immediately began to enforce the line , the touching of the horse was thought too much by whoever was watching , it's not been a week yet since the horses came back on duty , give it time to settle down like we had to with the " don't touch the reins " change . Is it worth your blood pressure ? No ! Have a good day everyone 😊

I’ve seen the boxmen pull the reins and/or back the horse into the box to avoid touches. This boxman did neither until the trooper came along. You can see the boxman give a one word response to the trooper, “Okay.” Then the white line rule is enforced. We may be premature in judging the boxmen because as you say we have no knowledge of their instructions. As an American and a member of emergency services, I say it's not the tourists with the issue. It is the guards are not doing their job. Simple and pathetic! If the guards don't say anything, and there are just plain white lines on the pavement, they won't even be acknowledged. Where is the "Do not touch the horse!!" or "Get back!!" or even "Read the sign!!" Nothing. Maybe they should visit the USA to see how military personnel handle security? You may as well not have any mounted guards. I used to think it was the tourists who behaved badly. Now, it is definitely an issue with guards and police. With people, if you give an inch, they will take a mile.
