Edit:a couple of days ago I did run of the stage for a dance show crying bc of my ADHD but I have learned if I need to be a dancer I need to train hard,work hard,and live hard!

In my opinion, I think Brightyn and Brooklin were the best dancers.
They’re young, but I feel like none of them really danced to the music. They just did a bunch of their tricks in a row.

I'm mean to be a dancer u don't have to be in a dance studio, I self-taught myself to dance and I've cane really far u should try it
Rewatching this I noticed their times( the amount they were allowed to improv) were NOT even. I mean, not even close. If I was one of these kiddos parents I'd be upset, as it gives an unfair advantage to some. I've seen it partially off before, but I've never seen it this bad before!
On a positive note, This group was full of amazing little dancers, haven't seen such an amazing group since this. Full of total package, rising stars!!
Obviously I need to clarify, as there seems to be confusion as to what "time" I was talking about......
I am talking about the time each dancer was given to improv. Some got only 15 seconds, others almost 35. This gives an unfair advantage to some, as they have a longer time to show off their strengths. When I said "as a parent I would be upset," I was meaning at the competition, NOT the girls. They were all amazing, (as I said in my original comment.)
I’d be proud of my kid if they tried their best, especially if they had these moves. You obviously have high expectations, but they 5is is an improv, so they wouldn’t of known what the song is, and maybe some of the girls have never heard of this song before, so they don’t know what beat comes next
What do you mean "their times were not even?"
They were doing SOLO improvs against each other, not dancing as a group!
@@sarahcorbo3659 The AMOUNT of time they were allowed to improv. per dancer was different for every girl. To be fair they should be given the same amount of improv time to show their strengths and skills. Some were given 15 seconds some as long as 30. Normally the times are watched closely and it is very even!
@@evelyn.k6901 I wasn't talking about their rhythms. I was talking about how long the introducer allowed them to improv. They were all FANTASTIC! But to be fair, each child should have been given the same amount of time to dance! Not one child 15 seconds, and the other 30. I've been in this industry for 30 years and this year was not close to the same times per child. That's unfair to those girls. The longer time you have to dance the more you can show your strengths.

I'm not a dancer. So, I'm curious. Do these children retain that agility and form as they grow older assuming they get regular dance practice?
Yes and No. It gets much harder as their bodies develop. Some maintain it but some will grow into completely different bodies. Hopefully it will be a slow, gradual process so that they can learn how to move in their ever changing body. But they will get better in alot of ways too, emotion, depth, strength, core, movement quality, dance IQ, technique, turns will all improve, even their their arches can improve. The things that they have to remeber at this age like "pointing their feet" will become second nature. But flexibility is at an all time peak around this age but it can very easily be maintained and used to do new movements, if you work at it.
Ooops i just realized this is the minis not the juniors. They still have plenty of time. What i said was more intended for the Juniors, not these little minis. Theyre just babies with much to learn and improve. The junior division is where the flexibility seems to be at a peak but not all will have learned hoe to master all the movements that can be achieved with this flexibility. I manitained mine alk the way to 21 was my best year. One year of not dancing I lost my flexibility by about 50% in one year!!

Ok, first of all they all did amazing! But, the orange should have been in Junior not mini, and the green was really the only appropriate mini.

Just because of her height doesnt change her age. unless you know how old she is, i wouldnt judge it by that- im way taller then people my age and i look over 3 years older then them but im not.
They were all 8-10 years old which is a mini at the dance awards.

Kiarra, Brooklyn, Brightyn and Hayley were top 4 with Kiarra taking 1st place. But Brightyn won best Mini the next year! And Kiarra ended up winning best Juior in 2018.
