- Friday, July 5. The Dongting Lake embankment in Huarong County, Yueyang County, Hunan Province broke. The local area is taking emergency measures and relocating people, The affected population is about 5,000, and so far about 3,000 people have been relocated.
On the evening of July 5, in response to the danger of the first-line embankment pipe bursting in Dongting Lake in Tuanzhou District, Huarong County, Hunan Province, based on the 56,000 pieces of central disaster relief materials that had been allocated to Hunan in the early stage, 5000 household emergency kits were allocated to Hunan Huarong to support local efforts to carry out emergency relocation and resettlement work for flood-affected people in the area affected by the pipe burst.

I can tell you that is true. I live in America and we have done almost no maintenance or any investment in our infrastructure. Our cities look just like they did 40 years ago when China had only small fishing villages. Now they have the largest economy in the world when you look at PPP which is the real measure of wealth. What your money can buy. GDP counts money made in the market and other investments. Not what your money can buy when you compare market prices. It is much more affordable to buy a house in China or a car or almost anything so your money goes much further and is worth much more than a US dollar in America.
