@@astranova1674 When I was led to Jesus I was at a place in my life where I was struggling to feel anything. I was emotionally numb, and I didn't feel anger, happiness, or sadness. There was nothing. Being raised in a Christian home, I knew about God and about the gospel but I never truly understood it, and I felt like I could never be a true Christian because all my Christian friends would talk about their big emotional experiences with the Lord and I just didn't feel anything. It wasn't until after God called me and I accepted His invitation and took that leap of faith, deciding to trust Him as my savior that I felt anything experientially. He called me FIRST and I followed Him, the feelings came after. Now that I am saved, everyday my love for Christ is growing, but it was not my feelings that led me to Him. It was His good and sovereign grace alone that has saved me and led me to become a Christian, NOT my feelings. Again, God allows us to feel things, but it is up to us how we act in response. As Christians, we believe that sin has twisted our world, separating us from our creator and condemning us to eternal punishment. The gospel is what we call the "good news" and is more than just a story in some religious book. It is the real story of how God sent down His perfect son Jesus, who is God made flesh, to die for our sins as only a perfect sacrifice can atone for them. He died and was buried for three days, and on the third day he rose again, so that all who repent of their sins and believe in him and his resurrection will be saved from their sins and receive eternal life. Even if you don't believe anything I am saying, I urge you to read through the book of John chapter 3, verses 16-21. It explains more of why Jesus came and why humans continue in their sin despite this. I pray that God would open your eyes to His light, because you are a precious soul made in His image and are of infinite worth and value. God bless you 🙏

I want to thank you for this. I’ve been watching your ministry and seeking God for quite some time now. I’m transgender. I transitioned so young that I couldn’t even tell you what it’s like to present and to be seen as a man in this world. Here I am, 27 years into a transition and suddenly, I feel this gnawing desire to lay all of what I have become aside because it besets me.
I suppose the easy answer is, “Just do it! Let it all go and be the man that God created you to be.” Well, regardless of that truth, I wouldn’t even know WHERE to begin. How would this affect my career, my family, and my community (not talking about community in the LGBTQ sense)? Lol. The funny thing is, if I detransitioned, people would swear that I was transitioning to become a man, instead of me actually coming out of agreement with being transgender.
I don’t know if anyone but God can provide me with this answer, but given the extreme I have gone, what do I do? Does cutting off my hair, stopping hormones, mastectomy, and men’s clothes bring me closer to God?
Would God accept my obedience, even if it created resentment inside of me?
Could celibacy be enough??? I know this all sounds enormously confusing… well, imagine how I’ve felt since I was a child.
Pray for me…. And please, no meanness. My heart can’t take that.
All I know is that NOTHING is worth my soul. I will continue to ask God for deliverance.
    Thanks.

I just want to commend your honesty and transparency. I cannot imagine what you go through, but I know that Jesus does and He's more than enough. He says don't be anxious or worry for anything, because it does not serve you. Let Him carry your burden. Be willing to sacrifice self. And set your sight firmly on his finished work at the cross. You're right that none of us can give you answers, only He can. What I can give is my love and my prayer that He open your spiritual eyes and hears to be led by Him. In Jesus Name amen. Rest in His love.

I think the first problem is that you say : I am a transgender, so your place all your identity into this transgender ideology... And if you want "the God that I am" as your saviour, you will need to accept HIS identity and to realize that our God does not make mistakes. He does not put soul in the wrong body, He is perfect and He can help you to accept your body and be delivered from this dysphoria.... Pls think on it and be blessed on your way to Jesus ✨ I am french so excuse my English...

I love you! There is a clarity that comes through in the way you frame your identity issues. Is who God formed you to be before the foundation of the heavens and earth your identity? I think yes. Yet it's not that simple anymore. The fall came later, sin, deception, confusion and death came with Adam and Eve. Identity problems all involve sin and deception of all stripes. Your capacity for clear seeing and honesty about your self is a revelation. Jesus is Lord, and with God ALL things are possible! Turn down the volume of the world, open your heart to the Lord. The way forward God has in mind for you will unfold. Grace has set you free, not to sin, but to walk by the leading of the Spirit through the fallen world we all are called to pass through for the sanctification that is granted by measure.

I’m so happy someone put into words what I have been living and feeling for years. I’ve always believed in God, and I’ve always been gay since I was a kid. I always felt like a hypocrite seeking God, talking about God and my faith in Jesus to others, while being in a homosexual relationship. Over and over i agonized, i wanted Him to remove these affections but over and over He keeps on telling me He loves me. Thats it. Either i hear a VERY SPECIFIC message from a random video, friend, song, or anything that i could not dare say it’s just a coincidence. For so long i thought God just wanted me to become straight. But no, even if I become straight BUT fornicate then im just trading one sin for another. God wants me to be holy. Having a husband or a kid in the future is just a privilege, it’s not the mission. Seeking Jesus is. I’d rather chase Jesus than money, relationships, accomplishments, power, fame, or all of the above! Face it, we dont know what will make us truly happy. Try wanting something so much and end up having it, you’ll want something else the next minute! For years I deliberately ran away from God because I accused Him of being a hypocrite. Saying He loves me but cant accept me?? I thought that was bull. But God didn’t budge one bit. He waited. Now i know that He never changed, I did. I just see things differently now and how foolish I have been. God loves me. He loves me. Thats who I’m giving my life and love to.

    • @Grokford
      @Grokford 2 года назад +3

The first person I ever fell in love with was a former drug dealer turned demon summoner who cut off contact with me and dropped off the face of the earth.
It was quite a jarring experience, I didn't know what was happening; truly I thought it was my family history of mental illness rearing its head.
Took me probably.. ehhh.. two years before I actually realized that I had been in love.
Obviously it wasn't a good fit, but that doesn't change the fact that hearing the news that we would never see eachother again was the most pain I've ever felt in my life, physically *or* emotionally.
Now why am I telling you this⸮
Because chickadee, even though I didn't realize that I was head over heels in love, I did realize that whatever it was, it was very important.
It was something I'd been wanting and needing for years, and when I thought about it a thought occurred to me: What right do I have to be picky about the gender of the people God sends me?
Well this sent me on a research journey, I'm sure you're familiar with the multiple layers of awareness and denial because I didn't think I was in love but I did know that I was suddenly aware that I was Queer, and I wanted definitive answers.
I'd been in this middling state of my opinion of homosexuality and Queer rights and I'd been disapproving without really knowing why.
So I decided, I was going to get answers.
      What I found was interesting,
I was fortunate to have a strong background in linguistics so looking at the source language didn't intimidate me but even without that several things became apparent very quickly.
Every single one of the so-called clobber verse, is flawed in some fundamental way.
Sodom depicts an attempted gang rape, of course that's condemned regardless of gender.
Romans 1 is similar, the latter half of the chapter is a description of pagan worship practices, including both sex and images. The use of images outside idolatrous context is allowed, why shouldn't sex⸮
To say nothing of the mistranslations that go unremarked upon in the modern church, even after they're corrected.
An excellent example is the word "fornication".
Fornication is modern language generally refers to pre-marital sex, although it can be used for any sort of sex.
      This.
      Is very interesting.
Partially because that word is used because it is a cognate of a Latin word _fornicātiō_ .
The word can mean several things, whoredom, prostitution, sex, but the root was _fornix_ , which means brothel so it's likely it was closer to that.
But that is notably different that the English meaning, well maybe not. It's very possible that the meaning in English was much more similar to that of its Latin counterpoint in 1557 but who knows.
However, we do know that fornication was in the Bible from then on.
Or at least it was until recent years when it was removed from more recent translations.
Because the funny thing is, neither the Latin term nor the English term accurately represented the meaning of the original Greek term, which is rather more important.
What did the Greek term mean?
      "Sexual Immorality"
a term as bold as it is specific. This is what appears in modern translations.
But despite the fact that the original text doesn't condemn pre-marital sex and despite the fact that modern Bible translations don't either doesn't get rid of the pervading cultural norm and religious convictions that it's still forbidden, even though it never was in the first place.
And so it goes with many other issues. 1 Corinthians 6:9 and 1 Timothy 1:10 both list "homosexuals" as people who aren't going to inherit the kingdom of God. That was an addition of the 1946 RSV translation, despite the fact that no one knows the meaning of the Greek word they're translating for.
Those two verse contain the only two usages of the word in surviving record between a century after the books were written and the beginning of time.
So I don't want to it's based on nothing, but almost.

When she says the line "You're not coming to God to get straight, you're coming to God to get Jesus", she's not saying that she's going to remain a lesbian and still come to God. What she's saying is that 'curing your homosexuality' shouldn't be your main reason for coming to the Lord, hoping that with a snap of His fingers you're healed. What she means is that you should be coming to Jesus FOR Him, to serve Him, and love Him, not to fix your gay tendencies. This video is deep on so many levels. I’ve always been left dumbfounded by trying to understand why some ppl that I’ve known personally seem to have been born attracted to the same sex and I could never understand why and even how to explain this as a Christian. This video truly enlightened me. In it she explains how living holy for God is a choice. It wasn’t a deliverance service that she went to and woke up changed. She is giving her desires to God in exchange for His. I don’t know why we differentiate sin when ANYTHING that goes against God is sin. I believe we do this to outward sin. We can see homosexuality but we can’t always see pride etc. Idolatry is so common we don’t even think of it as sin. The best part is God has given us the victory and power over sin through Jesus. What we must do is submit our sins to God. I’ve got to watch this again. I’m sharing this as well. This video is awesome! Thanks for sharing your story. 🤗

So true! Christ recently convicted me of the idolatry of food. I've always struggled with binge eating and emotional eating and it wasn't until a year ago I realize this was actually a sin issue. Instead of turning to Christ with my sorrow, frustration and pain, I turned to food. I was an addict! I still struggle a ton, but I look at it as a spiritual issue which had made me be more conscious and aware of those feelings and how to turn to Christ instead of food.

You know, we as Christians believe that when we seek God above all else, our desires become less important in the face of His glory. If you do not agree, that's okay, but don't keep saying that it's forced, that God has forced anyone to "change" their "orientation", because humans DO have free will. If they've made that choice, that was their decision, not something that was forced onto them.
And yes, I know that there are "reformation" camps that forcefully try to make people stop having feelings for the same sex and do extreme emotional/mental damage(it's wrong and not okay), but that is not the case with Jackie and with a number of other Christians/people.
I hope you all have a wonderful day, I know that the church has failed in many ways to be loving and genuinely care for each and every community, so I pray that we can be better and be a people that you can rely on :)

Believe whatever you want to believe about desires not being the product of god; but distress and self-loathing aren't either. You need to think for yourself and not feel pressured or burdened. Jesus or God himself didn't say that homosexuality is a sin, and the old and new testament are very different, it's what separates Christians from Jews. It is the reason most people on this planet are straight and we need as a species to have families, but that doesn't mean everyone does have to have children, gay or not. This is not a logical argument to say because there is no line which says "and on the 6th day of creation God said homosexuality is a sin". If you continually characterize her orientation and God as mutually exclusive then you will only further push her towards conceptions of God which don't contain that idea; which unless you can find a community of healthy and independent Queer Christians usually means something less traditional or "occult".

A lot of the comments I have read are focusing on the topic of God hating the LGBT+ community and how you feel bad for Jackie because she is making the wrong choice for herself, which can somehow end up in suicide. (People in the comments words, not mine) I believe that we are focusing on the wrong topic and missing the whole idea of this video and her book. The point being that God wants us to come to him no matter your sexuality, ethnicity, religion, personality, belief, or whatever sets you apart from the community. I learned a lesson just recently that God will break you and place you in circumstances in which you would have no other place to go besides Him. And I believe that that is what happened to Jackie in her experience. Also, just to be clear even though you turn your life towards God, it doesn't mean that you will instantly be changed or will follow all the commandments perfectly. Life itself is a journey and is full of obstacles and adversities that may set you back but when you find hope in Christ, it changes the way you think about the situation and guides you in a way that the Lord would want you to handle it. This is how your life changes once you believe in Jesus Christ and he is the GPS in your voyage.
So when we watch videos like this and personal testimonies, remember that we are all broken and God will mend us if we are willing.
Just as a reference: Genesis 32:24-32

@shelby: And that's where you are wrong. Since if you are suggesting that porking your sister is not consensual, then such an act would be considered as rape. However there are plenty of incest _couples_ out there who are practicing it (incest, not rape) willingly.

We really need someone in the church with the gay experience to speak out more. I am glad I saw this. My son is struggling with his identity mostly because it is now an accepted movement to be a part of the 'fluid' community. But I know what God spoke about him and God will help him to have a right relationship when the time is right. He is a teenager so he has a lot to learn. I pray for all those out there who are hurt and confused about this. We must pray against rejection, loneliness, abandonment and ask God to shut those doors in people's lives so there is no entry. But to love all who deal with this! Let us love them TO THE LORD.

That is me too Sis and that is something that has always confused me and hurt me when people would say it wasn’t natural and that I was sin because to me it was natural to me from as early as I can remember. I felt like God had made me who I was so if I was that way and if that was sin then what does that mean.. I was so messed up for so long. Almost took my life. I praise God for not giving up on me, and reaching me and rescuing me. I cannot say how much I appreciate your realness about every bit of what you share. Revolutionary for real

I was moved by the beginning of her book. The way she described her early experience with women was illuminating and really helped shift my perspective. She described so passionately her feelings for the girls she liked. The lust. The pining. The overwhelming feeling that you are being taken over almost possessed by something. It made me so proud to be a woman that loves women. I feel so full of love and alive when I talk to the woman that I care so deeply about. Feeling seen by her and respected and cared for makes me so happy. Being gay rocks! Thanks Jackie!!! ❤

It’s okay to be gay-just like it’s okay to be straight.
This woman on the film is living in what she knows to be her truth but it then turns into the shaming of others-that’s not right.
If you’re a part of the LGBTQIA+ community and you came here for comfort... YOU ARE PERFECT JUST AS YOU ARE! We all have struggles, and God does not care about your sexuality or identity. God loves you, I love you and respect you. If people are judging you, that is their problem-live your best life by being true to yourself and being compassionate to others. You are valued and God created you perfectly. Being a victim of abuse and ill parenting affects those who are heteronormative or not. We all lose when others are hurt or shamed.

Wow.. What an incredibly powerful testimony. I've always been straight but since coming to Christ I've struggled with God's condemnation on homosexuals. It's a very difficult biblical reality for gay people to have to face and it's made me feel like a biggot for following Christ. As my relationship with jesus strengthens I am seeing that we all must die to ourselves in many different ways and seeing this women's testimony is spiritual inspiration by definition.

I am a Christian and openly gay. I don't feel God wants me to change it. I know you have good intentions, but listen to your gut. God gave you intuition and faith for a reason. telling gay people they must "die to themselves" in the form of sexuality when he would never ask a straight person to give it up.

    • @grey29825

The world homosexuality didn't even exist until the 1800s, it certainly was never in the Bible. Most verses have been proven to be mistranslations surrounding homosexuality bc of a bigoted world. As a straight person, it is not your job to control the sexuality of others

Yes, I am the same way as a straight women. God had to deliver me from feeling bad about agreeing with His Word, because it was the enemy/flesh/world making me feel this way. Once I saw and BELIEVED that God doesn't hate the LGBTQ+ community, instead Loves them to the point of wanting them to become clean and holy, just as other sinners, to live fully in Christ I realized HE is a GOOD GOD for everyone and their situations/sins. God bless you abundantly brother in Christ.

@@grey29825 key word in your comment "you don't feel God wants" but what do He say say about it. See we have to be willing to give up what we want and die to self just as Christ did. There is no in-between with homosexuality it's either right or wrong. Righteous or unrighteous no it doesn't stop making you a Christian but it does reflect on what is keeping you from complete freedom from sin my sister. Just because we feel some type of way doesn't make it right. We have to check our feelings and emotions and see if they are led by the right spirit. My prayer is that you continue to find truth in the scriptures about homosexuality. I myself have suffered from other sin and have been bound to them by "My" feelings but the Word of God (truth) has set me free and I pray it does the same for you. Love you sister 💕

Mrs.DeShawn Maydwell thank you for your response. I completely feel that you are responding in love and only want to see me grow. However, I will reiterate the word homosexuality didn’t exist until the 1800s, and the Catholic Church payed for it to go into the Bible. Bible historians have found that passages in the New Testament relating to homosexuality were often referring to rape or pedophilia or other sexual sins. To my understanding, and that of an ever growing body of historians who love god and serve to honor Him, homosexuality is not wrong or evil. We do ourselves a disservice when we don’t fully understand the context and history of God’s word. I encourage you to look further into it yourself and really appreciate you taking the time to open this conversation. The rhetoric of the church has led to so much oppression and self hatred in my life and I don’t want others to loose their connection to God because of the church. I’ll be praying for you as well and deeply encourage you too keep searching

Love this woman’s wisdom and perspectives. I think she has the best words I’ve ever heard to help Christians struggling with same sex attraction. Hard truths but truths. God has raised her up to be such a much needed voice at this time. So hard to know why He allows us to go through what we do. But everything He does or allows is for His glory and our good. I see it so clearly through Jackie’s story. My struggle is depression, and I see so many parallels.

@@siren7362 Okay so you agree that you can't stop gay thoughts and feelings when you're gay. So heterosexual people are allowed and encouraged to pursue physically and romantically fullfilling relationships but gay people aren't? You know theres something wrong here buddy. No religious person in this comment section could explain how it's fair that people who didn't choose to feel attraction to the same sex and can't change those feelings are forced to be with someone they are unable to love but straight people however CAN be with someone they're romantically attracted to. But straight religious people don't care about that, they don't care that it's unfair and that some people are punished for something they didn't choose. You can choose to repress your feelings for god, but you CAN'T force feelings. If you're gay, you can choose to marry someone of the opposite gender and live a straight life but you cannot choose to love someone of the opposite gender, like you would love someone of the same gender. But straight people somehow can. It literally doesn't make sense why would god punish innocent people? It truly shocks me how blind these people are and how much internalized homophobia they have in them. The same way a straight person would feel about when having to marry, have sex and be touched by someone of the same gender, the same way a gay person feels when having to do those things with someone of the opposite gender. It feels icky and wrong and unnatural. But these people ignore that since they have so much faith and love for God that they don't care about that icky feeling. But it's still there. And only gay people are doomed to feel this way. It's not fair.
