      Absolutely they were!! and such a tragedy that they got hustled by their label for the rights and destroyed them before they even got off the ground really. Sorta similar to Credence Clearwater revival

      @@tonywalter2539 They were just so fum man. Cruising around auckland, trumpet blasting out the window and just singing to the people walking around on a Saturday night. Right after playing their show at the Powerstation......Also Push push were great

      Better than Split Endz or Crowded House only th' dudes were on there level yet they mixed grunge with metal and rap..... they brought an element of rap to NZ first

      I was a student in Auckland in the mid 90s and EVERYONE had their tape and was waiting for their next gig, they had everything they needed but sadly the flame went out just before they really made it to the big time, so sad.

    Honestly dude supergroove is 100% worth a deep dive into their back catalog.
    "Can't get enough" is my favorite song they made in the 90's absolutely awesome band!!

      @@psychoelectric Couple of albums. Traction (1994) had their biggest songs on, and their final album was Backspacer in 1996. There's an anthology called 'Postage'.
      The singer in this song left to have his own hip hop career - Che fu. He and another NZ group DLT teamed up to make a song called 'Chains', which is against the French Atmospheric nuclear testing in the pacific in the 90s. Worth a listen.

      @@psychoelectric No worries, never miss a chance to talk about Supergroove, even if it is 30 years too late. They disbanded JUST when I was old enough to start going to concerts. I was crushed. They sound timeless to be - especially Sittin Inside my Head.

    One of life's greatest mysteries, why Supergroove didn't rule the entire world in the 90's. They were phenomenal live - no-ne else has ever come close during my lifetime.

    Supergroove supported six60 recently, they were brilliant and need to tour again. Listen to Fade Away, Che always sings his face off.

    Brooooooo Che Fu (Lead Singer) is straight up next level. He's not with Super Groove anymore but you need to check out his rendition of Danny Hathoway's Jealous guy. For REAL REAL, it's ... there's no words.

    Yass!! I’m an 80’s child, grew up on Che Fu. Cut a long story short, my 16year old plays the trombone in her high school jazz band and I mentioned to her they should definitely cover Supergroove. Turns out her music teacher agrees and they’ll be doing this song this year. LOVE it, great reaction too!

    "If I had my way"is really different, but different lead singer. Che Fu who is the lead singer here was just as good live. Che Fu "Chains" is really good too.

      Absolutely, everything about sister sister is so great. From vocals, to that great bassline, the guitar and even the harmonica solo at the start. Really great song

    Oh man you taking us back, super groove were sooo awesome and a head of their times, I love it when you get a soul voice mixed with funk and rock, the lead singer went on to do solo stuff As Che fu and is an awesome artist but the supergroove stuff helped him use his range more like in this song!!!!!

    Loved the boys
    We all hung out whenever they came down to WGTN when they were down here performing...they'd pop into my gig every time
    Che.....was a cool guy But I loved Karl...the other lead....He was more outgoing and just down to earth
    We'd always have a awesome time...good memories

    Love Supergroove! One of my fav kiwi bands. My first concert when I was 16 now I’m in my 40’s and I saw them live a few months ago. They killed it! I can send you vids if you like!

    man i these guys were great, i remember skipping last class of school one day to catch a bus to see their last public performance at sounds music store lynnmall city Auckland, a few years later found out that che fu(the lead singer) and i shared a weed dealer

    Saw these guys live growing up in NZ they were all the hype and they are better live. Lead singer is Che Fu who went on to have a successful solo career.

    che-fu man, its crazy hearing someone react to super groove XD. Fade away was a great song that had supergroove feature when che fu went solo. Also this song is hella old, maroon 5 wasnt a thing yet XD. Sadly there arent any live versions because of how old this song is XD.

    Any other Kiwi's in their 30's and 40's only really now appreciating the music we grew up with? The likes of Split Enz, Crowded House, Shihad etc. I kind of scoffed at them in the 90's-early 2000's but now I can understand their appeal.

      it isn't 35 years old my brother, the band isn't even 35 years old. it's 29 years old, it came out in 1994.

    Love the live at mountain rock 1995 whole set just goes off, the lead singer went on to release his own music...Che fu, I love the first album he has beautiful, sort of sour tones, im not musical i dont know the proper word. The other singer is leading stetiogram now
